Chapter 87: A lifetime of commitment

Julius’s warm, autumnal lake-like eyes widened when he heard Aynor’s words, and he looked at Aynor in amazement before shifting his incredulous gaze to Baylor. Julius asked repeatedly, somewhat doubting his ears, “Proposal?”

Baylor frowned, “What proposal?”

Aynor narrowed her eyes slightly, her voice tinged with displeasure and the slightest hint of sadness, “You’ve changed your mind so quickly?”

Three people, three questions, three different tones, yet no one answered anyone’s words.

Aynor looked at Julius, clearly blaming Baylor’s ‘change of heart’ on the Prince who had suddenly jumped in, “Something to do with him?”

Julius hadn’t figured out what was going on, but he always liked things that were interesting, so he just smiled lightly from the sidelines and didn’t say a word.

Baylor thought what’s all this nonsense? He clasped his hands together and asked, quite incomprehensibly, “It doesn’t matter to anyone, when did I ask you to marry me?”

Aynor was hurt and put the sunglasses in his hand into his pocket, accusing, “I confessed to you before, didn’t you say that if we want to be together, we have to become mates? Isn’t that a marriage proposal?” He forced the question, “Didn’t you ask me if I would be your mate?”

So that’s the same as a marriage proposal. Baylor raised an eyebrow, “I did say that.”

Is that true? Julius reached out and cupped his hand into a fist in front of his lips, blocking out some of his exposed emotions.

Aynor was relieved to see that Baylor did not deny it, but not to the extent of being a scumbag, his face cleared up a bit, and then said in a slower tone, “Just as long as you remember, I’ve been thinking about it very carefully.”

Baylor shrugged, “It’s okay, you don’t have to think about it.” He was just saying it anyway. And… Things were a little different now. Ewan had entered his mental picture, and if we’re talking about mate, Ewan was clearly closer to being his mate.

Aynor listened to this, his heart suddenly seized slightly, a sense of foreboding rose, he carefully asked, “You really changed your mind?”

Did he take too long to think about it and Baylor couldn’t wait?

Aynor felt the monster called ‘regret’ eating away at his thoughts, and on impulse, he said anxiously, “Actually, Baylor, I’ve already made up my mind, and although I haven’t thought about the whole mate thing at all before, if it were you…”

“Ahem.” Julius suddenly coughed lightly, interrupted Aynor’s words, met Aynor’s hostile gaze, Julius said with a light smile, “Life is important, Mr. Aynor should not act impulsively, some words once said can not be easily retracted.” He took a step forward and stood next to Baylor, then said to Aynor, “Since you have been thinking for so long and have not come up with an answer, it means that you are not able to make up your mind to be with Baylor forever, so it is better not to do anything against your heart.”

Baylor was a little surprised to cast a glance at Julius, what was the relationship with him? But what he said seemed to have some truth to it.

At that very moment, however, his mind was suddenly drawn to attention by another feeling, and he frowned slightly, completely unconcerned with these two.

There was a strange feeling… I feel like I’ll be unlucky later… Baylor meditated on it, but why?

Aynor frowned deadly, Julius’ words did hit the nail on the head, and in his heart of hearts, he really wasn’t ready to give an answer. After all, he liked Baylor, admired Baylor, his heart was indeed not fake, but to make a lifetime commitment was too difficult for him. Life was so long, who could guarantee what would happen in the future? He wasn’t even sure how long this heartbeat would last.

Aynor was in the entertainment industry, and although he was clean, he had seen too many couples who were in love before and went their separate ways very quickly, without even leaving each other with any decency when they parted. He had played many roles of deep love, but he knows that in real life, relationships were the most unstable existence.

That’s why he couldn’t easily commit his life to Baylor. If it were someone else, he might be willing to say sweet words of love and commit to this momentary relationship as an eternity, even if he doesn’t believe in it at all. But Baylor was different, and the look on Baylor’s face when he asked him was a seriousness he had almost never seen before.

The searing light in his eyes would not allow anyone to be perfunctory.

And it was that sunburnt gaze that made Aynor’s heart flutter and hesitate.

The heart was moved, Baylor may be different from others, but this hesitation was that he himself may be just an ordinary person.

The light on Aynor’s body dimmed to the naked eye, and even the pheromone became shriveled up. Aynor was filled with disgust for himself at this moment, whether it was his hesitation or the essence of his hesitation ‘he might be mundane’ or not, it made him realize that he was not worthy of the other side at all.

He pursed his lips and raised his eyes, looking reluctantly at Julius, who was standing beside Baylor, “What about you? Can you give him a lifetime commitment?”

Julius was not surprised by Aynor’s shift in battle, people were like that, when they can’t get it for themselves, they want to bring others down with them. He laughed lightly and said, “If Baylor is willing, why not?” He even turned his head and lowered his eyelashes, his eyes as warm as brimming spring light, he lowered his voice and asked, “Baylor, do you think so?”

Baylor was pulled back to his senses by Julius’ question, he had just completely missed what these two had said because of that strange feeling, the corners of his mouth twitched and he was about to say something, then Aynor sneered and said in a tit-for-tat manner, “Such a casual answer sounds perfunctory, how can a lifetime commitment be so easily blurted out? If I had to choose you, then Baylor might as well choose me.”

“Is that so? Then I’m also curious about who Baylor wants to choose.” At that moment, a voice like jade in an icy lake came, each word condensed with a cold watery light, “A lifetime commitment is not a small thing.”

Baylor suddenly felt a cold breeze on his back, at this moment he finally understood just now what that wave of unsettling feeling was. Obviously he thinks he had not done anything bad, but somehow there was a feeling of weakness after making a mistake.

Just why didn’t he notice when Ewan came?

He looked outside at the various colored flying machines whizzing by as well as the airships, it must be the noise of these things flying too noisy.

This gallery was an ominous place.

He would never come back.

After Baylor made a silent decision in his mind, he slowly turned around and looked at Ewan’s eyes like ice crystals in the dark night under the shadow of the brim of his military cap, with a ghostly moonlight and cold light, he subconsciously said, “It’s not about me.”

Although Baylor also did not know exactly what they were talking about, it was like a puppy would see its parents coming toward it angry, the puppy would consciously crane their necks to show their innocence.

Whatever it was, it had nothing to do with him anyway.

But after saying that, Baylor felt that he had little conviction in that statement.

As expected, he heard Ewan softly laugh, that laugh was very light, almost like a feather, but Baylor knows this feather but could be stuck into the gears of the machinery, and then directly lead to the failure of the entire machinery explosion, was extremely lethal a feather.

Baylor thought about it, it was Julius and Aynor’s fault, so he turned his head towards these two and glared at them with displeasure.

Aynor, who got the ‘eye-signal’, took a step forward with an alpha spirit, reached out and stopped Baylor behind himself, his other hand in his trouser pocket, and said in an unhurried voice, “General is not guarding the military today as a mountain town’s taiyou? “

Aynor had always remembered that Ewan had kept him out of the military headquarters and prevented him from seeing Baylor.

Julius now had a handle in Ewan’s hands, he would not dare to take his position as prince to see the fun, slightly withdrew a step to the side, pulling himself away from Baylor, he met Ewan’s knife-like gaze, expression unchanged, “I was just joking, General do not take it seriously.”

Aynor raised his eyebrows at Julius, his gaze was contemptuous, what a coward.

“It’s good that Your Highness was joking, otherwise I think the royal family would have a headache.” Ewan said coldly, “As for this one…” Then he looked at Aynor, who was holding the man behind him, as if he was afraid of what he might do to Baylor.

Watching Baylor slowly move out from behind Aynor, Ewan couldn’t help but, again, ‘huh’ a smile.

“I think His Highness is right in saying, since you are so hesitant, don’t force it.” Ewan’s military boots were hard, stepping on top of the floor of this gallery, emitting a clear sound of footsteps.

“People who only want a moment of pleasure, but are not willing to spend a lifetime to be responsible.” He walked up to Baylor, who had moved out from behind Aynor, and stretched out his hand to take Baylor without refusal, and then pulled him to his side with a push.

Looking at Baylor’s dazed look at himself, Ewan stretched out his other hand and patted Baylor’s shoulder, patting away the non-existent dust, as if Baylor was covered with something dirty from the other side.

But not the dirt, tsk, the two alpha pheromone smell clinging to the clothes above, extremely unpleasant.

Ewan looked askance at Aynor, his voice disdainful and cold, “What qualifies you to be near him?”

Aynor opened his mouth slightly, but was unable to refute.

The sourness in his heart swelled up like a balloon, and Aynor said, “How do you know I won’t take responsibility? It is because I want to be responsible for my words that I am so careful, and if I make a promise, I will keep it.”

“My promises are not the same as your frivolous words.”

Ewan raised his eyebrow, his tone mocking, “Frivolous words?”

Baylor felt the hand that was holding him tighten up, not knowing if it was Ewan’s force or Aynor’s words that made his brow furrow involuntarily.

Without waiting for Ewan to continue, Baylor stepped out from Ewan’s side, holding Ewan’s hand slightly. He had wanted to pull his hand back, but Ewan’s grip was too tight, and even retaliated by using more force when he tried to struggle out.

Feeling Ewan’s cool glance towards him, Baylor said rightly, “He’s not the same as Julius, don’t mix them up.”

How could Ewan be called ‘you’ with Julius?

It’s too degrading.

Julius, “…”
