Standing beside him in crimson battle armour, Rebecca held her spear with a stony expression on her face.

It was only after confirming that everything was in order that Dante finally passed the order

"Starte the siege."

Soon, Dante's order had passed down to the ranks .

Soon the thunderous sound of whiplash could be heard as gigantic boulders hurtled through the air towards the bandit fortress.

But the next sight shocked everyone present, including Dante.

Just before the first barrage of boulders could collide with the fortress, a faint shadowy barrier could be seen appearing protecting it.

"Impossible!" cried one general next to Dante.

And Dante had to agree with him.

A defensive formation for a bandit fortress?!?

What kind of nonsense was this?!

It must be known that not even all the fortresses of the Vaenam Kingdom could afford to have a defensive formation, but all of a sudden this highly sought after thing became something even bandits could afford?

Even with his shock, Dante didn't let it show on his face and coldly called out.

"Strike again."

Dante's cold voice seemed to calm down the shocked generals and soldiers as they moved to set up the next barrage.

But in the end the result was still the same even after many barrages, nothing changed.

But Dante still didn't panic. He still had hope of a solution

"Bring Klent."

....

Later in a tent at the base camp

Soon, Klent could be seen standing in front of Dante.

Dante's face was completely stoic.

"So Klent, tell me, does he have an idea on what to do?"

Before Klent could even respond, the sword at his waist began to buzz before the phantom of the old man suddenly appeared before them.

"A formation of this difficulty is nothing. In fact, it's simply a sham."

The fundamentals are completely awful. From Afar it might seem

Solid or maybe even respectable, but once you were to get closer, it'd be easy to see its true flaws

Dante wasn't in the mood for the rambling explanation of Swordmaster Rho and quickly cut him off.

"This explanation is good and all, but what does that mean for me?" Asked Dante.

At first swordmaster Rho was enraged and Dante's interruption

How dare a child cut him off mid-sentence?

But before his anger took control of him, he suddenly thought back to the entities he had sensed in Dante's mind.

The fear of those overwhelming auras had quickly put him back in place, causing him to stifle his frustration and answer with disgruntled tone

"Well, what that means is that if given enough time, I can break through the formation."

As Dante heard this, a slight smile broke out onto his face:

"Good." Replied Dante

"Now that we have a solution, it means that we will have to change our current means of attack. From now on, the army will move out under the control of Rebbeca towards the fortress. Once in range, Klent and Lennox will break away from the battlefield and infiltrate to destroy the defensive array."

"After the destruction of the array is completed, the army will back off and the ranged artillery will be used to wear them down once again"

….

Merely minutes after Dante's meeting with Klent, the army was already deployed and ready for action.

Hundreds of soldiers donned in armour and cruel expression on their faces held a spear as they gazed forward

Rebbeca took a moment to look at her army before taking a deep breath.

'I can't mess up now, thought Rebecca

'Everything rests on me!'

Suppressing her doubtful thoughts. Rebecca's gaze hardened as she called out to her army.

"Move out!"

The instant Rebecca called out, the army responded in turn as the thunderous March of hundreds of soldiers shook the battlefield.

The smoke and dust rose into the sky and, when combined with the vicious aura emanated by a legion of trained soldiers, it created a truly intimidating scene for the bandits that shook them despite being protected by the fortress.

Jaxson could feel the unrest of his men and quickly turned towards The corpse master.

"You better do something about this. If things continue at this rate, I'll be forced to show my hand early."

But The corpse master didn't share Jaxson's nervousness and responded casually

"Just wait and watch." Said the corpse Master in a relaxed voice, "when it comes to fighting, numbers have always been my advantage…."

Oblivious to this exchange between the leaders of their enemies, the army of soldiers moved forward, approaching the fortress.

But suddenly a dark fog descended from the sky, covering the entire plains

whilst this was happening, the inhuman voice of the corpse master sounded in the ears of everyone present.

"Rise."

With his word, the earth began to rise and shake, but the effects didn't end there.

To the horror of everyone watching, a bleached bony hand burst frothy from the ground.

Slowly but surely, the horrifying figure of a half decaying body crawled out from the ground.

And this wasn't an isolated incident.

All over the battlefield, thousands of similar scenes could be seen repeating themselves as all sorts of skeletons and zombies rose from the earth.

"Heavens above…." Muttered a soldier in disbelief.

And it wasn't just this soldier who was left speechless, the entire army was also sharing in similar feelings of disbelief

From the moment they were drafted for the war, the soldiers had been prepared to face all sorts of blasphemous, undead creatures.

They were all locals of the region and had heard tales of the mysterious corpse master that had been raiding the nearby villages.

They knew he was powerful, but never had they expected something like this!

In an instant, the corpse master had brought almost 3000 undead creatures to face Dante's army.

The moment Rebecca saw this, her expression collapsed.

But despite her frustrations, Rebecca knew she couldn't dwell on them for long.

She could already feel the unrest and despair starting to spread across her legion of warriors.
