104 A Gift for The Chief

The first thing Hiro had to do to complete his first mission, getting the heart of the dwarf chief, already gave him a rather difficult time. He and Jacob had tried to ask a dwarf NPC and a dwarf player in the tavern to help them with something in return, but they didn't succeed. The female dwarf NPC directly refused despite Jacob's maximum flirting.

They truly hated NPC Gruzzal.

After a little over thirty minutes, Hiro finally remembered he had a female player on his friend list at the moment.

Without much thought, he immediately called the player to ask for help. However…

"Are you out of your mind? You want to trade me for a dwarven chief's quest?" A loud, slightly deep female voice came from the other end of the voice call, startling Hiro.

He felt as if his ears were ringing because of Cara's shout.

"Please, I'm begging you. I'll do anything for you in return." Hiro had no other choice. By hatching his pet egg, he was confident that his battle rating would drastically increase and his avatar rank would go back up. Just one more step to achieve it.

Cara fell silent. She seemed to be considering his request.

Hiro didn't know what she would say, but he wasn't going to give up easily.

"Please, Cara," he once again pleaded, putting aside his pride to catch up due to the unexpected kidnapping.

"...Fine."

"Yes!" Hiro reflexively exclaimed with a jump. "Thank you so much, Cara!"

Jacob, who couldn't hear the conversation in the call, also joyfully exclaimed when he saw Hiro's victorious reaction.

Hiro asked Cara to hurry to Vul Faldur City to meet up.

"Did you get her?" Jacob tried to make sure that he didn't misunderstand.

"I got her."

At this moment, Hiro really couldn't care less about what the girl would ask him to do after his plan went smoothly.

And they waited until Cara arrived in front of the tavern that became their meeting point.

"Hi!" Jacob raised his right hand to greet Cara, but the girl only briefly looked at him without interest. The expression on her face successfully made Jacob, who had never been rejected by a woman he took the initiative to interact with, feel slapped on the face.

"What's the plan?"

From the explanation of the dwarf Jacob and Hiro met in the tavern, ladies who were to be given to NPC Gruzzal had to be dressed as femininely as possible as the dwarven chief was crazy over feminine ladies.

And because of that, the three went to the market to find a dress to temporarily hide Cara's tomboy impression.

"I don't like this."

It was difficult to get Cara to wear a dress. Even so, after once again wasting thirty minutes to find the right dress, they finally found a dress she was willing to wear.

A resplendent long black dress.

Cara looked exceptionally elegant in the dress, and she was willing to wear it as it was the only dress that didn't have a flower pattern on it so far.

A dress was all they needed. Hiro didn't want to waste any more time just to get Cara to have a make-up and hairdo makeover, so he let Cara's already attractive face stay natural. Even so, Jacob still got Cara to tie her short hair to look more elegant.

And finally, they left for Vul Faldur Castle.

…

After easily going through the giant wall without attracting suspicion, Hiro and Jacob already knew which way to go.

They didn't go to the castle. Instead, they went to the elongated building on the side of the castle. It was akin to a housing estate, but the stones used had a beautiful, shining golden color due to the sunlight.

Hiro, Jacob, and Cara arrived in front of a building taller than the neighboring buildings. When two male dwarves in armor saw the three, they immediately had a sour expression on their faces.

"What are you looking for?" one of them asked. The dwarf clearly asked in a cynical tone, but Hiro was struggling to suppress his urge to laugh. The thick beard on the dwarf's face made him seem funny as he spoke, especially since he couldn't see the dwarf's mouth under that beard.

"Chief Gruzzal," Jacob mentioned their reason for coming. "We brought a gift."

The two dwarves scrutinized Cara from top to bottom as if they were assessing whether this was a worthy gift for their boss.

Cara was extremely displeased by their gazes. The girl had raised the skirt of her dress intending to kick one of the brazen dwarves' faces, but Hiro pulled her back a little forcefully.

"Follow me."

Hiro threw a relieved gaze to Jacob, who also did the same.

The three then walked into the stone building. The inside of the building was only about 1.7 meters in height, so Hiro and Jacob had to bend down to the point of almost bowing when they entered.

They went through an unexpectedly crowded long hall. Dwarves, both male and female, were walking about in the area. And it wasn't just NPCs; some of them were players.

'What are they doing here?' Hiro couldn't help but wonder.

After walking about another 10 meters, a female dwarf suddenly exclaimed with excitement when she saw one of the guests.

"Cara! Oh my gosh, look at you! I almost didn't recognize you! You look so beautiful!"

The dwarf was a player.

Cara wasn't any less excited when she saw someone she knew. She ran to the dwarf so hurriedly that the top of her head hit the ceiling of the building hard.

Bang!

"Ouchhh!"

"Cara, are you all right?" Wheelie approached Cara, who reflexively crouched while rubbing the top of her head.

"Tee-hee. Wheelie, what are you doing here? I haven't seen you in so long."

Hiro let out a long sigh when he saw the reunion in front of him. He could only wait.

Jacob, who still hadn't known that this was how Cara would act whenever she saw a woman, could only watch with astonishment.

Cara told her friend about her reason for coming to this place. And of course, Wheelie was surprised and threw a displeased glance full of accusations at Jacob and Hiro.

"Gruzzal is crazy. I'll go with you, Cara." Wheelie decided to join in, and Hiro and Jacob simply allowed.

As long as their plan continued.

After Hiro felt as if his back was about to snap into two for having to bend down for so long, they finally arrived in another room with normal height.

In the room was a throne, and sitting on it was a seemingly old male dwarf with a bulky body surrounded by five female dwarves.

"What do you want?"

"I brought you a gift, dwarven chief." This time, it was Hiro who spoke.

Cara and Wheelie entered the room after Hiro's signal.

Seeing this, Gruzzal's eyes opened wide and shone as if he had just fallen in love at first sight. He jumped down from his throne and ran to his gift.

"For the founding ancestors of Vul Faldur, you are stunning, lady!"

But… it seemed that Gruzzal misunderstood. Instead of approaching Cara, he ran toward Wheelie and pulled her hands before complimenting her full of sincerity.
