Chapter 3: Running without Pain

 The early next morning.

Immediately after getting up, Meng Ke took a taxi to the hospital, and a full set of examinations showed there were no problems. There were no shadows, tumors, or blood clots in his head, but a long period of inactivity left him somewhat unhealthy.

"With current medical technology, there could only be such a result, which means my abilities didn't affect me physically, so I don't need to have any worry about being under the knife."

With a sigh of relief in his heart, Meng Ke continued to walk to the Internet cafe and open a computer near the corner.

He's warily registered for a new number and logged into the writers' forum.

Every day, there were many new writers and great gods discussing a variety of writing inspiration or the plot of their writing.

With so many heads together, they would naturally brainstorm some new ideas.

Meng Ke clattered on the keyboard, and soon a post was posted.

"If the urban setting protagonist has an ability that can affect people's five senses: How can he live forever?"

If he went to Baidu and Zhihu and asked this question, they may not be as professional or as open-minded as the people here.

After the post was sent out, the reply was not quick. Meng Ke opened a game, played for about 30 minutes, and opened the forum page again.

"1st floor: First reply, waiting for downstairs."

"2nd floor: "The urban setting power was not popular now. I urge the author to cut it early and relaxed."

"3rd floor: The OP says it affects people's five senses? Does it affect others or affect himself? If he wants to live forever......The protagonist has ability, there should be others who also have it. OP could try to let the protagonist develop his power first, keep a low profile. Let the little brother rush in the front, and reap the fruits for himself."

"Fourth floor: The routine of the urban novel shouldn't be too complicated. It should be pretending to be miserable to slap faces, heroes rescuing beauty, betting stones to open stores, and having brand cars and beauties in hands ."

"Fifth floor: It's better to join the country."

"Sixth floor: The author can write about life-prolonging potions and medications. You're the author, couldn't you write what you want."

  ...

After reading every comment, there's a lot of useful ideas, especially the one on the third floor. He wasn't in a novel . Even if he had nothing better to do, why would he pretend to be miserable?

Moreover, Meng Ke wasn't sure whether he was the only one with an ability for the time being, with so many people in this world, he was very doubtful.

As long as there was one, one would turn to two, as long as there was a possibility among the vast population of earth, it would not be so surprising if there were hundreds of thousands of abilities.

As for joining the country and contributing to the nation, he really couldn't do it.

Who would be so stupid to think of helping others when themselves aren't even full?

After sorting out his thoughts, he felt that his top priority was to figure out how to increase the number of spiritual threads.

Moreover, he couldn't be as muddled as before, at least he should have a goal of his own.

"This ability affects the five senses ....So......"

He's ready to test

Meng Ke slowly blocked his sense of pain and pinched his thigh. The touch did not register any pain, it felt like he was pinching someone else's thigh.

Leaving the Internet cafe, he came to a school's playground. Usually, this field had a 400-meter rubber track with a football field in the middle.

It was time for class and the students were all in the classroom. The guard wouldn't let strangers in, but Meng Ke was a former student here and he didn't know the guard well. Why would he open the gate if the students were late and were playing truant?

By handing a cigarette to the guard so he would let him in.

Standing in the field, Meng Ke did a simple exercise to warm up his body. He began to use his powers.

The first was the sense of smell. The turbid and sultry air immediately became fresh and pure.

Then, a cold air that was no less than the air-conditioned room blew all over his body, and the coolness flowed through his limbs like he was at the ice spring on Tianshan Mountain.

"Yes! This trick should be used on a hot day like this." Meng Ke closed his eyes comfortably and enjoyed himself immensely.

But he quickly came to his senses, and adapting to the change, slowly began to reduce the pain in his thighs.

Pain is a protective mechanism of the human body. The body warns you of pain during strenuous exercise, which makes you unconsciously want to stop exercising.

The average workout includes 100 push ups a day, 100 sit ups, and 10 kilometers of running, which everyone knows could make your body stronger and stronger, but few people adhere to it.

That's the reason why most people in modern times become fat from excess nutrition.

Running, on the other hand, mostly uses leg muscles, so his first thought was to reduce the pain in both legs.

If running wasn't tiring, he believed that many people would stick to it.

"Now I won't feel sore, and three months of intensive training should improve my physical fitness by a notch." Meng Ke murmured in a low voice.

After he finished, he began to jog on spot, and when he was sure the approach was working, and his legs really didn't feel much, Meng ke began to increase his pace and speed.

  "Hoo..."

  "Suck..."

  "Hoo..."

  ...

He checked the information on the Internet, and the best breathing method for running was to breathe in once for every three steps. So now that he doesn't have to worry about the pain in his legs, he could focus on his breathing.

Lap after lap of running in a large stride, even if he was on the hook, his breathing involuntarily increased, and there were countless beads of sweat on his face.

Twenty laps later, he stopped with his hands on his waist, gasping for air as sweat trickled down like a waterfall.

"...Srre enough, even though I was gasping for air, I definitely couldn't block the feeling of breathing otherwise I would faint easily without catching my breath."

After taking two steps, Meng Ke started jogging again, while thinking about a solution.

Soon, he thought of something, the surrounding landscape suddenly changed, the day turning into night and the stars brightening the night sky.

A huge blood moon rose, and the murderous aura of the battle came.

Directly in front of him, a black line stretching into the heavens tumbles with clouds of smoke and dust, and an endless stream of monsters roar athim.

In the sky, an undead dragon bigger than the mountain rose from below the horizon, stirring up its mighty bone wings, two dark green flames blazing in its skull.

Suddenly, Meng Ke was accompanied by a slender woman, whose magnificent silvery armor covered her marvelous figure perfectly.

"General, I would like to fight side by side with you!"

Before the words could be heard, a splendid sound rang out between heaven and earth. It seemed to be the sound of a little war drum that was like a rumbling thunder , and sounded like the clashing of thousands of swords and spears.

Meng Ke was already wearing a blood-stained battle robe, holding an unknown pitch-black sword in his hand.

At this time, he was like a lonesome, peerless general with a thousand troops. There was tenderness in the eyes of the woman beside him, a surge of arrogance surged into his chest.

He pointed his sword.

"Charge...!"
