Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 168 - Acceptance

Holding his shoulder, Shane couldn't help but complain

"Couldn't you have held back at least a little bit? I didn't want to use potions that would decrease my mana purity through their impurities, and purified potions are too expensive for me to even consider purchasing them!!"

Frer, who seemed to be her true self when it was just the two of them, sat opposite him, utilizing her mana gathering technique, trying to comprehend what exactly he was doing.

"I couldn't help but use a little bit more force...the thick layer of mana particles around you is trying to protect you from danger… You didn't even annex it yet and it's still guarding you? And what is this suction force??"

Shane had already noticed that something was off with the mana particles around him but hearing the truth was still not easy to digest as he mumbled

"The mana particles are trying to protect me?"

Looking straight into Frer's eyes, he didn't spot shyness in them, which was unusual, considering that she used to be overly shy and wary of almost everything when they had first met at the picnic before he nonchalantly said

"I have a world inside me, and what's your secret? Do you have a split personality or is it something else that allows you to change your behavior however you want?"

"A world?" Frer asked, jumping up from the camping chair she sat on, only to slump back with a confused expression.

"What do you mean by that…?"

Smiling lightly at her reaction, Shane thought that there was no need to hide the existence of the world seed inside him, because it would be exposed either way.

Nobody could take the world seed from him, and letting others know about it might even be helpful in the future.

It was better to explain everything clearly instead of creating a misunderstanding that he might have a unique ability that allowed him to absorb so much mana for himself alone, which might even turn him into someone dangerous for other, hostile races.

However, instead of telling everything exactly as it was, Shane just brushed over the facts.

"You might know about miniature worlds, right? The world I have is similar, only natural and not artificial. I believe that you can tell that the mana suction force around me is extremely strong.

This is because of the world inside me.

It required a lot of mana to be sustained, as it is still in the building process.

Thus, I have to provide mana by all means possible, and right now I am continuously allowing it to absorb the surrounding mana.

Does it distract you while practicing with me or make you feel uncomfortable?"

There was not much that mankind knew about customized worlds, and Aunt Kia might be one among a handful who knew about their existence.

As such, it would be tedious to explain Frer everything in detail, especially because Shane himself didn't understand half of the things..

To understand the world seed and his new title completely, he would have to study and experiment a lot more about it.

However, there was one thing that he was sure of!

Once the world seed would bloom, and create a small world, his mana absorption could be regulated in a much better way, because he only had to supply it with a certain amount of mana to sustain the world and prevent it from withering.

The mana that was absorbed afterwards could either be stored, transferred to his mana pool, or used to enlarge the world slowly!

Until then, he would have to cope with the world seed's required mana.

It would be a lie if he were to say that he was not even a tiny bit scared about the possibility of the world damaging him in any way, but both the system and his blessing had helped him in surviving the soul-binding process.

Furthermore, he had never heard of a blessing doing anything that harms the blessed individual while it was equally unheard of a system punishing or harming an innocent person, without a reason.

This helped him to calm down a little bit, though he was still anxious.

Frer only nodded her head after Shane finished his explanation, still not understanding him completely.

Normally, one wouldn't reveal their secret, and if her assumptions were right, Shane's secret was not something to be shared casually, without trusting the other party.

This caused her to smile lightly, thinking that Shane trusted her as she gathered her courage to reveal her own secret to Shane.

"I think I get what you mean...somehow...probably? But you're wrong with your assumption. I don't have a split personality but an [Unique] ability that allows me to 'turn off' emotions, my senses, and so on.

Right now, I switched off my shyness and fear which I normally have in front of strangers or people I am not familiar with.

This unique ability can't be activated continuously, and I normally only utilize it when I enter a battlefield, spar, and so on because it might distract me."

Trying to understand what Frer said, Shane couldn't help but blurt out "That's cool!"

Most people would feel weird and uncomfortable when they heard about Frer's ability for the first time because she could control her emotions similar to a robot, or even fake emotions, but Shane's reaction was similar to Aisha's, which caused her to smile weirdly.

Frer was unsure as to why she had shared her secret with Shane, and it felt oddly satisfying, liberating to open up to someone.

However, seeing that Shane wasn't frightened or felt disgusted by her ability made her happy, and a bright smile emerged on her face when he said

"You don't have to use your ability right now! Just act how you usually do!"

These words allowed her to slowly open her heart to another person, except Aisha who was the only person who accepted her unconditionally.

Nobody wanted to be lonely, and until now, she had only allowed Aisha to be close to her.

She was sure that the Valkyries liked her, but Frer could feel their gazes lingering on her every now and then, making her uncomfortable around them.

However, with Shane, it was somehow different because it looked like he accepted her for who she was.

As such, she stopped exerting her unique ability and it was only a matter of time before Frer shyly said

"Please don't stare at me like that!"

Frer tried to hide her face, but Shane could see her blush and smile childishly as if something good had happened, and he couldn't help but smile at her reaction.

"That's better" He just said without much meaning behind it, only for Frer's smile to brighten further.

It was lunchtime and the two ate together before Shane stood up again.

Trying to massage his aching body, he asked

"Can you demonstrate to me your bloodlust without using your unique ability or is it a must?"

Knowing this was important because Shane had to figure out if he had to adjust his emotions while releasing bloodlust or not.

Furthermore, it might allow him to comprehend more if they could use Frer's ability to see how her bloodlust would change according to her emotions!

At least that was something he wanted to figure out.

"Well...I can, but the bloodlust is less complex then…"

Hearing this, Shane smiled at Frer who couldn't help but hide her eyes behind her hair which was a cute sight.

He was now beginning to see why some people might look at Frer weirdly misunderstanding her unique ability as some grave disorder.

It was unfortunate, but not everyone accepted people that were different, even if it was not their fault.

However, instead of feeling that Frer's ability was devious, he was envious as he asked with gleaming eyes.

"Is it possible for you to show me your bloodlust with several different configurations of turned-off emotions? It might be helpful for me to understand what is the most important!"
