Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 199 - Brawl

Shane was unsure what exactly Princess Ilya planned to do but it didn't really matter in his opinion.

Until now, he had fought against one Greater Elemental and it had been extremely disappointing.

His expectations were too high, to begin with but that was a given after Ilya told Shane that Cedir was the strongest Greater Elemental around his cultivation stage.

It didn't really matter if he fought someone at the Peak-Apprentice stage or Low-Expert stage because his mana pool was still larger due to the blessing he received through the system-awakening.

Additionally, he had a perfect Mortal physique which allowed Shane to be almost at par with an average low ranked Expert's physique.

Considering that Elementals had a slightly different cultivation process that involved enlarging their mana core, purifying the mana within without the need of a physical body, Shane estimated that his mana pool size would be slightly smaller than the Greater Elemental's mana core.

However, after he added his world seed's mana to the equation, everything would be different and an Expert stage's mana storage would turn insignificant.

As such, Shane was not nervous.

Rather, he was eager to see what Ilya wanted to do with the mana he would supply her.

Five minutes later, the world seed had already replenished the mana that Shane had used up in the earlier fight and still had a lot of surplus.

When Shane noticed this, he couldn't help but feel that it was imperative for mankind to awaken Igra's mana heart.

'With a mana heart, the new generation wouldn't have a hard time learning how to control mana within the Primordial Dimensions at the age of 16. Every child could slowly adjust to the mana in their surroundings and learn to sense everything in a much easier way. This would make following the subsequent steps after one was eligible to enter the Primordial Dimensions much easier!'

Shane was in his own train of thoughts, imagining how mankind would prosper when they would awaken Igra's mana heart when he noticed that a group of elementals floated towards the center of the arena before they revealed their form.

There were only two larger, humanoid Elementals among them and the rest took the form of animals or a shapeless form that looked aesthetic and weird to Shane at the same time.

Smiling lightly, he saw that Ilya stood up before she floated towards the arena too.

As he followed her silently she turned around to stare at him as she said,

"Before we start fighting, I need to do something, sorry for the intrusion!"

Lifting her white glowing arm she touched his forehead which began to burn slightly, forcing Shane to close his eyes for a moment before the pain dissipated.

Opening his eyes again, Shane couldn't help but wonder what Ilya had done to him because nothing had changed.

After she retraced her arm and her voice lowered to a conspiratorial whisper "You'll understand when the fight begins!"

To Shane, this sounded ridiculous and he had to suppress a laugh but he noticed that Ilya was serious.

'Why is the Elus race's royalty so weird? Couldn't I have just formed a firm relationship with Empress Idral and Emperor Kidar without all of this hassle? Furthermore, why can't this princess just talk straightforwardly with me like she did in provoking her people??'

Shane didn't like to be led around and he found that his current situation was messed up.

The only thing he wanted was to find and catch a Lesser Starlet Fox and not to travel to a different race's origin planet to change the Elementals mindset about their combat style.

He didn't even think that he was competent enough to foster change because the only thing Shane was proficient in doing was to fight and scheme.

Sighing deeply, Shane kept standing behind Ilya who told him to do so and release his mana at once, immediately after the AI initiated the start of their fight.

After that, he should do the rest, which began to sound even more hilarious after he heard it a second time.

'That means after releasing an astronomical amount of mana, I should continue to fight? Does she think my race is something like a walking mana storage?'

Shaking his head, Shane decided to ignore Ilya once everything was done and to focus on establishing a proper relationship with the Emperor and Empress before departing for good.

This would be the best for his own health.

After he determined the 20 Greater Elemental's affinity and cultivation stage, Shane concluded that their average strength was roughly at the 1st Expert stage while most had a basic elemental affinity, of fire, water, wind or earth.

There was also an Ice Elemental and a Thunder Elemental and Shane began to wonder how exactly Ilya planned to create an opportunity with his mana.

When everyone was ready, the AI started to count down to zero to start their spar.

The moment their spar began, Shane immediately transferred a huge amount of mana equal to several dozen humans at the peak Expert stage to Ilya, whose body inflated.

Meanwhile, the 20 Greater Elementals didn't remain idle and utilized their affinity to either push themselves towards Shane and Ilya, who were more than 50 meters away, or to attack with elemental attacks over a long-range.

Shane saw several dozen icicles, lightning strikes, earth spikes, wind blades, and fireballs flying towards them but he could stay calm due to the passive skill [Hunter's mind] he had.

However, this changed completely, when he sensed how Ilya unleashed every single ounce of mana within her as she released a thick, black mist that enlarged rapidly.

In a single second, Ilya and Shane were enveloped in this black mist and it was at that time when the elemental, long-distance attack appeared in front of them.

The world around Shane slowed down and he began to wonder how that was possible. The black mist shot outwards, enveloping the whole arena after it disintegrated the elemental attacks which it forcefully absorbed.

When he saw this, his eyes widened and he continued to imbue mana into Ilya because he couldn't see anything through the black mist as she said

"You have 30 seconds in which the Greater Elementals can't use mana externally!"

'What the hell did she do?' Shane asked himself in wonder when his forehead brightened up, revealing everything in the dark mist.

'Is that some sort of a combined attack? She had planned everything!' He already figured out that Ilya was crafty but she seemed to be more scheming than he was!

This was something he didn't expect, but he couldn't help but smile lightly at this thought.

He could see everything in the dark mist after his forehead began to glow and perceived the discomfort of all 20 Greater Elementals who tried their best to regain their composure.

They couldn't use their mana externally anymore and it was a surprising occurrence that had never happened to them before.

There was only one thing they could maintain and supply with enough mana which was their form.

This also allowed them to fight against Shane and Ilya!

In their opinion, Ilya and Shane had to use up all of their mana to generate such a powerful mist that negated all their elemental attacks, weakening them greatly.

As such their confidence began to return as they charged through the arena wildly, like raging bulls, without coordination.
