Rise of the Cosmic_Emperor

762 The Duchy Capital Overrun.

Noon the next day...

A figure appeared in the Silva Duchy capital skies and while shrouded by mystery especially concerning what gender it was, the figure waved its hand and causes the opening of a giant portal in the sky.

There was a deep rumbling that many could hear coming from the portal and then it began to rain boulders... Large boulders all lines with fiery lines.

The moment the boulders hit the ground, they all morphed into large monsters who widened their maws and let out roars that while potent with the lack of a proper thinking ability presented an image of unabashed savagery and might.

Now, while these were the average folks living in the Duchy capital and had been on the streets at the arrival of the monsters, they were still mostly cultivators who had the strength to either fight the monsters or get themselves to safety.

Many chose the option of safety but even then, only a few of them made their way out of harm's way while the majority got caught and chewed up... Whatever speed they possessed, the monsters were faster and whatever strength they had, the monsters were stronger.

The biting off of heads... Biting off of limbs... It was quite a gory scene.

The boulders that rained from the sky and morphed into monsters numbered in the thousands and they were the perfect mindless thugs to instigate terror and rampage all about a Duchy capital while the actual experts dealt with the ruling family of the Duchy.

The numbers of monsters were a lot and yet they were not enough...

The mysterious figure that had been spotted earlier and had kick-started this horror was suddenly at another part of the capital where another portal opened and even more boulders rained down to work into even more monsters... It seemed an attempt at equal distribution.

The destruction was massive and the monsters were indiscriminate in who they attacked or tore up but they all had targets...

While they raged about through the Duchy capital streets and attacked as many as they met on their way, they were not disorganized and actually grouped themselves to aim at the powerful families of the Duchy capital most notable of whom were the Dane and Silva families.

The average civilian was useless to the power structure of the Duchy and the ones to truly put down were those in power.

The monsters rampages a good bit before the actual experts arrived...

Every single person that could be a part of the invasion had been sent to the Devil tribe and all that was left at the time was for them to receive word from their clan/tribe leader on whether or not to go ahead with the plans the Devil Tribe had made up and the answer was positive.

How could it not be?

The Devil Tribe especially had means through their experiments which would reduce any actual casualties if there were ever any and that was enough of a reason to defer to them with the others being that they were in control of the Private Teleportation or at least had more of an understanding with the one in control of it.

The actual experts sent to the Haron continent were separated into two groups with the other group attacking the Imperial City at the time this attack on the Silva Duchy capital was going on.

The same figure that had opened the previous portals to unleash the hordes of monstrosities appeared in the skies above the Silva Duchy palace and out of this portal opened this time around came intense pressure...

The sort to terrify any cultivator who was not a cosmic Saint and even then, only those who had stars numbered at three or higher could truly withstand that pressure without flinching.

This was not a combined effect of the pressure of all those coming through but rather, it was the pressure of just a single one of them.

"Human scum! We come knocking!!!" yelled a booming voice that was followed by attacks sent down at the palace below.

*BOOOMMMMM!*

*BOOOOOMMMMM!!*

*BOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!*

The attacks were multiple and their effects were destructive... The destruction was mitigated soon though by combined forces that created a shield of cosmic energy that not only protected against the destructive attacks but also reduced the impact of the pressure being unleashed.

All this happened in the space of half a minute and only after this did the group actually emerge from the large portal in the sky.

A group of Transcendent beast experts all ranging from three stars to six stars and who all spent a second or two staring down at the Palace below before unleashing another wave of attacks...

... All attacks they unleashed though were quickly intercepted by experts of the Silva family and everyone who made a move to intercept was a Cosmic saint.

From the pressure these intruders were giving off, it was easy to see that they were not the type to be faced by Semi-Saints, and even if they were, there was no point not sending the best they could send to combat the threat...

This was a state of emergency with a situation that was completely unexpected and relatively unprepared for... There was a need to adapt and a need to act fast... This was not the time to ask questions as to how a portal appeared in the Duchy and unleashed this horror upon the populace.

There would be time for questions later... Maybe.

The Silva family saints rose into the air to be on the Same level as the aggressors and they unanimously sneered while taking up battle poses and summoning cosmic Armaments.

"You'll regret..." one began to say when her eyes widened at the feel of a spike stabbing through her chest...

She found that she was suddenly closer to the Dystopians than she was with her fellows and had no memory of making any movement.

Her fellows were as confused as she was... All they saw was a flicker from the Dystopian and suddenly, he had a spike and had the Silva lady skewered on it.

The spike that brought about her death was made of energy that chilled her even more than the thought of sure death did and that was the last thought she had as the life drained out of her.

The Dystopian let her body fall to the ground before turning his red eyes at the others,

"I'll regret nothing," he said in a chilling tone.

This Dystopian, by the name of Tchort, was a general in the Devil Tribe Army and he was one of the most powerful in the group of Dystopians who graced the Silva Duchy with their presence. The other two who shared the title of most powerful in the group were delegates from the Dragon and Pheonix clan.

Tchort's kill started off the battle just as a loud *BANG!* sounded at the front gates of the Duchy palace and the monsters poured in to wreak havoc on the ruling family's stronghold.

There were many attempting to hold them off which was even harder than it looked... Each of those monsters at least possessed the strength of a Semi-Saint which was not really a resource the Silvas had in abundance.

They had a lot of semi-saints but not in enough numbers to balance out the battle... Plus, while the monsters lacked actual reasoning, they felt no pain and needed to be completely destroyed to be truly done with what they had to do was critically injure a human, and that would put him or her out of commission enough to be finished off much more easily.

Also, the boulder-formed monsters were magnificently durable... Durable enough to be able to brush off attacks from peak Semi-Saints.

While they were in no way invincible, this strength combined with their numbers made them a formidable foe... Especially a foe that could not be faced by anyone below the Semi-Saint realm.

Meanwhile, shockwaves were striking Down from above and causing a fair bit of destruction... These shockwaves were the result of the all-out battles between Saints and Transcendent beasts in the sky.

*Bang!*

*Boom!*

*Bam!*

*Crack!!!*

*Bang!!!*

*Booommm!!!*

The real difference maker was the trio of Tchort from the Devil Tribe, Falkor of the Dragon Clan, and Bedelia of the Phoenix Clan.

This three were all Six-star Transcendent beasts and with them on the Dystopian side, they easily outclassed every single Silva who rose to battle them, the strongest of whom were three-star saints.

The battle had only gone on for just a few minutes and three more had fallen and they had fallen to attacks from the leading trio.

Before any of them could make another move though, a cosmic Attack that took the form of a gigantic ax that covered the sky came hurtling at them but they moved out of the way early enough to not get hit.

The Ax went on to slam into the midst of the monsters who had broken through the gates where it exploded and vaporized a good number of them.

However, the show of power was not only in the ease with which the attack destroyed the monsters but in how it was so controlled and even distinguished enough to only knock back members of the Silva force rather than kill them all indiscriminately for being in the same area as the monsters.

That was not the end though as ethereal and silver figures dashed out of nowhere, going past the gates of the Silva Duchy palace to an area in the Duchy capital where the monsters were very congregated.

The figures swirled about the monsters and detonated in a similar manner as the giant ax.

And then a silver-haired man dressed in regal robes finally appeared in this sky, staring especially at the trio with his eyes narrowed in anger and exuding chilling pressure.

His presence in the sky was impressive... It was intimidating to his enemies and it filled his men with hope and courage.

No words needed to be said and he expressed his intolerance for the Dystopians very well with his gaze alone.
