Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Snuggling Up In His Embrace, Extremely Clingy

Obviously, Gong Siyu and the white figure that had suddenly stood up from the bushes were not on the same page.

With her head covered by the lab coat, Ji Younai could only see her own feet. As soon as she heard a third voice apart from Gong Siyu and herself, she was so frightened that she subconsciously tightened her grip around Gong Siyu’s arm.

She whispered softly and aggrievedly, “I’m not a ghost…”

However, she found the third voice to be somewhat familiar.

Somewhat timid, yet filled with curiosity, Ji Younai secretly lifted a corner of the lab coat that covered her head and took a glance in the direction of the sound.

The thin, slender figure, had messy hair that was as black as ink. He looked rather unkempt, and the snow-white lab coat looked filthy. After looking at him from bottom to top, Ji Younai caught sight of his unique yet bizarre red pupils…

Ji Younai suddenly lifted the lab coat on her head and looked in surprise at the pale and handsome young man who was not far away.

“Liu Yun! It’s you!”

Gong Siyu was surprised to see how excited Ji Younai was.

He lowered his eyes to give her a sideways glance that was slightly cold, seemingly upset with her reaction.

“Do you know him?”

Ji Younai smiled, pointing her pale finger at Liu Yun while looking at Gong Siyu.

“Yeah! He’s the one who saved me from Wu Defang!”

Gong Siyu suddenly came to his senses and humphed in disdain. “Oh, the severely mentally-unsound patient who escaped?”

With pouted lips and displeasure, she glared at Gong Siyu, who had made a sarcastic remark nonchalantly. She gibed, “Does that mean the two of us are lunatics who escaped too!?!”

“…”

Gong Si Yu raised his eyebrows and humphed. ‘We’re not the same!’

As soon as he saw that Ji Younai had let go of his arm and her “little paw” was no longer on it as she was running towards the “severely mentally-unsound patient” named Liu Yun, Gong Siyu’s face turned gloomy and sullen. He felt the urge to lose his temper.

‘Earlier on, she just promised not to let go!’

‘She let go once she saw a random man?’

‘Indeed, she’s fickle!’

With the corners of his lips tensed, Gong Siyu caught up with Ji Younai, acting all high and mighty as if he was her “protector”.

However, his heart was churning, and he disliked seeing Ji Younai smile at another man.

He wanted to destroy that seductive smile!

Under the dark night, within the dark woods, Liu Yun’s face was extremely pale. His dark red pupils were gleaming with a cold, crisp light, mixed with some vigilance.

He saw the silhouette that was dashing towards him, resembling a pure, porcelain-white, and clean genie.

Distracted and startled, he waited for the girl to stand still in front of him before squinting his weary eyes once. He then widened them again.

“Ji Younai?”

She nodded fervently and grinned widely with joy like she had seen a close friend.

“It’s me!”

“You escaped too?”

She nodded like a chicken pecking at corn.

“Yeah!”

“With this man?” Liu Yun asked expressionlessly in a feeble tone, as if he hadn’t had enough to eat. He then glanced at Gong Siyu who was standing behind Ji Younai. He continued, “You wouldn’t run away with me this afternoon, just because of him?”

She nodded with all her might!

“Yes!” She hurriedly explained again, “Not entirely!”

Before Gong Siyu was done rejoicing, he heard Ji Younai change her answer again. His face grew sullen once more.

Afterward, Liu Yun nodded to show that he had understood. He then shot Gong Siyu a meaningful glance.

He then said something that almost made Gong Siyu lose his cool…

“It’s so nice of you to run away without forgetting to bring your fellow patient along. Seems like he’s sick, he likes to glare at people with squinted eyes.” After a short pause, he went on, “Look, he’s glaring at me again, is there something wrong with his eyes?”

Several thoughts appeared in Gong Siyu’s mind.

He really wanted to beat this person up into a pulp!

He also wanted to shove his head into a basin of feces.

“Liu Yun, don’t say that about him, he’s perfectly fine.”

Ji Younai spoke up for Gong Siyu disapprovingly.

Gong Siyu simmered down greatly in just a moment. Ji Younai still defended him, she still had him in her heart.

As a result, there was an additional member in the escape squad, Liu Yun.

Following Gong Siyu’s mobile navigation system, the three of them, found their way out of the woods together, side by side.

In order to separate Ji Younai from Liu Yun, the scheming Gong Siyu deliberately walked right in between them.

However, he couldn’t help but feel sour when he heard Ji Younai chatting with the “red-eyed monster” beside him incessantly.

“Why were you sleeping in the bushes?”

“I got lost. The doctor gave me too much medication and caused my nerves to ache, so I slept for a while.”

By the time he woke up, it was already early in the morning.

“Is that so? Had you been staying in the asylum for a long time before this?”

“A year.”

“That’s a long time…” As soon as Ji Younai said those words, she suddenly shrieked as she tripped over a thick branch that had suddenly appeared in front of her and fell to the ground.

Gong Siyu had been silently grumpy, and when he saw that Ji Younai had tripped, he originally did not want to help her up.

However, when he saw how pitiful she was with reddened eyes, his heart grew soft and he squatted down to see if she had sustained any injuries from the fall.

Ji Younai was blinking aggrievedly and pitifully. Just as she was about to get up on her own feet, she suddenly looked up and turned pale due to the fright.

The three ghosts that had just been following her just now were standing in front of her. They were extremely close to her face, and were almost pressing against it.

They were chuckling creepily while sizing her up bizarrely. The bald male ghost that had his mouth sewn up, was grinning peculiarly. He was even laughing hysterically like a deranged prankster who had gotten his way.

Ji Younai was so scared that she choked.

In the next second, she pursed her tiny mouth and turned around without hesitation. Burying herself in his arms and throwing her arms around his neck, she began crying out in a feeble and soft voice.

At the sight of Ji Younai behaving like this, Gong Siyu’s anger vanished immediately. His eyes were full of heartache for her.

“Which part of your body hurts because of the fall? Don’t cry, let me take a look.”

He put his hand on the back of Ji Younai’s head and gently patted her on her back.

As soon as Gong Siyu finished speaking, he heard Liu Yun suddenly speaking up in an eerie tone while staring at a spot that was a short distance away. “She didn’t get injured. She just saw three ghosts that are right in front of her now. There is a ghost whose eyes had been gouged out and had died by hanging herself, and another vengeful ghost whose intestines were dug out and mouth was sewn up. There is also a ghost child, who should have died in a car accident.” After a pause, he continued to explain, “She didn’t fall by accident. These three ghosts pulled a prank on her to frighten her by dropping a thick branch on the road.”

Slightly startled, there was a look of shock in his cold, narrow eyes.

“You can see them too?”

“It’s an ability that I was born with.”

For the first time in his life, Gong Siyu felt like he was rather outdated because he could not see ghosts.

He raised his eyebrows as he watched Liu Yun’s red, demonic pupils suddenly turning to look at Ji Younai’s back coldly, where there was “no one”. There was invisible fury emanating from his body, which was absolutely terrifying.

Gong Siyu could not see any ghosts, but he could see that the rocks on the ground were being stepped on as they were making strange noises.

Amidst a gust of chilly wind that caused the leaves of the forest to rustle, Liu Yun also walked up to Ji Younai and squatted down.

“Turn around and take a look. They’ve run away, and they won’t come back anymore.”

Ji Younai first shook her head profusely in Gong Siyu’s arms like a rattle and rubbed her head against his chest in fear. However, after a moment, she lifted her head from Gong Siyu’s embrace apprehensively and looked back in fear.

She only slowly lowered her guard after discovering that the ghosts had really disappeared.

However, she began to press herself against Gong Siyu’s chest like he was her haven which she could not lose by her side.

“They’re really gone…” She was surprised.

“Yes.”

“Why?” she asked. Her big, beautiful, and watery eyes darted around.

“The fortuneteller said that I am born to be the bane of others’ existence. I’m full of fury, and the ghosts were scared away by me.”
