Back at Taoyuan Courtyard, as people skilled at managing their expressions, the previous tensions were completely invisible.

Jiang Dao went to change his clothes, and the others walked into the kitchen with the ingredients, discussing what to cook with a smile, and then began to prepare lunch together.

Chu Yinlong was naturally rejected by Mu Zhixing, and he was not allowed to take half a step near the kitchen.

Jiang Dao simply rinsed his hair with cold water, wiped his body, and changed his clothes. After emerging from the room, he walked into the kitchen, and saw Qi Peng talking to Hai Tang.

Hearing footsteps, Qi Peng raised his head and said with a smile. “I see that you are in a good mood, you don’t blame Xiao Chu for scolding you, right?”

Jiang Dao smiled: ” No.”

Chu Yinlong’s words? When he enlisted in the army, the instructors scolded people harshly. Compared with them, Chu Yinlong is considered gentle.

Besides, people who haven’t been hungry probably really can’t understand his conditioned reflex to desperately save the ingredients, and it’s normal to not understand.

Qi Peng added: “Actually, Xiao Chu’s intention is not bad, but he has a quick temper and sharp tongue. When he saw you diving into the water, he probably thought you fell, and his face turned blue. He almost went into the water to save you, but Director Mu held him back… So, he was so angry when he found out later that you jumped off yourself.”

At that time, Jiang Dao was so focused on catching the vegetables, he really didn’t pay attention to Chu Yinlong’s face. Looking back now, when he first came up with cabbage, he really didn’t hear Chu Yinlong’s voice, and he was scolded only when he came up the second time.

He never expected there was such a story behind it.

Looking at the look on Jiang Dao’s face, Qi Peng knew that the child really wasn’t worried, and was completely relieved.

“Come on, help your Sister Hai prepare ingredients. I’ll ask the camera to come and take a close-up for you.” He assigned the job with a smile, and turned to call for a camera.

Jiang Dao worked neatly and quickly cut up the ingredients for lunch and put them on different plates. Then he stood beside Hai Tang to observe, and learned some skills by the way.

Seeing that Jiang Dao seemed eager to try, Hai Tang handed him the spatula. “Why don’t you cook the next dish?”

Fifteen minutes later, the five dishes and one soup for lunch were complete. Hai Tang asked An Zhe to go out and call people, while Jiang Dao and Cheng Zhiyi propped up the table and set the tableware.

The crowd quickly took their seats.

After eating two bites of vegetarian fried cabbage, Qi Peng raised his eyebrows and looked at Hai Tang, feeling the taste was different. Hai Tang smiled and pointed at Jiang Dao, who was sitting beside her, with the corner of her eyes.

Qi Peng coughed lightly, stretched out his chopsticks and took a lot of cabbage into Chu Yinlong’s bowl.

“I think today’s vegetable stir-fry is good. It’s delicious!” He praised and added two chopsticks, mushrooms and rapeseed to Chu Yinlong.

After tasting it, Chu Yinlong nodded, “It’s not bad.”

Qi Peng smiled and said, “Does it suit your taste? Ginger and garlic are both simmered in oil and then fished out, leaving only the taste and no residue, so you don’t need to pick it out.”

Hearing this, Chu Yinlong smiled at Hai Tang. “It’s too much trouble, sister.”

Hai Tang shook her head. “I didn’t make these two dishes.”

Chu Yinlong was stunned for a moment.

Hai Tang smiled and patted Jiang Dao. “It was Xiao Dao who reminded me that you don’t eat onion, ginger, and garlic, so he picked out the seasonings in the dish. Moreover, Xiao Dao was in charge of this cabbage, mushroom, and rapeseed stir fry, and the dried bean curd stir-fried bacon. He helped a lot today.”

Next to him, Mu Zhixing took a big mouthful of cabbage and hummed with satisfaction.

Then, relying on his high status in the circle, he chose to open the pot and mention what happened earlier. “And these dishes were all rescued by Xiao Dao, otherwise we would only have two dishes and one soup at noon.”

Chu Yinlong: …

“You guys are spoiling him.” Chu Yinlong smiled bitterly, his tone had long since lost his previous anger, and there was some helplessness in his tone.

After lunch, Qi Peng and Director Mu dragged Chu Yinlong, who wanted to help wash the dishes, away to prevent him from having any chance to approach the kitchen.

“You guys are too superstitious, it’ll be fine if I don’t touch the fire!” Chu Yinlong tried to argue.

But he was suppressed by the two of them. “No, the earth stove can’t go out at all, and is usually warmed by a small fire. It’s too dangerous for you to go in.”

“It’s not like I’m a bomb…” Chu Yinlong was speechless.

Seeing Jiang Dao and Cheng Zhiyi cooperate to put away the dining table and bring things back to the kitchen, Mu Zhixing said with a smile. “This kid is really good. Put aside his professional skills, at least his character is good.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Qi Peng was happy. “And it’s rare for someone to be able to fight with Xiao Chu. Hey, when I was on the boat this morning, I was startled. At his age, he’s not afraid in front of Xiao Chu, and dared talk back calmly and logically. You didn’t see, at that time, Xiao Yi was so frightened that his face turned pale.”

Chu Yinlong folded his arms and let out a light snort.

Mu Zhixing: “What are you dissatisfied with? If he really wants to film, he will definitely be able to catch your aura.”

Chu Yinlong raised his eyebrows: “Is he what you’re looking for?”

Director Mu touched his chin and thought for a moment. “I like the character, and his temperament is really in line with Little Gray Wolf. But his appearance is too beautiful, and his body is not strong enough. As for the rest… let’s use a little game to try and test him?”

“Sure, I’ll discuss with the director to keep a camera for later.” Qi Peng agreed immediately.

After chatting for a while, Chu Yinlong decided to go back to his room to take a nap to save enough energy for the afternoon. As soon as he stepped into the room, he saw Jiang Dao nestled on the rattan chair by the door, frowning and playing with his mobile phone.

Chu Yinlong glanced over. “The phone is broken?”

“It’s waterlogged.” Jiang Dao sighed. “Now there is only sound, and the screen is dark.”

Chu Yinlong was silent for a moment, then stretched out his hand. “Let me see.”

Jiang Dao raised his face with a smile at Chu Yinlong. “Why don’t you scold me for making trouble?”

After taking the phone handed over by Jiang Dao, Chu Yinlong said, “I scolded you because I was afraid that you would be in danger. It’s over now, so how can I still hold on to it?”

As he spoke, he turned off the phone and shook it gently by his ear.

Jiang Dao said casually: “I just can’t bear to waste food.”

Chu Yinlong was speechless. “Which is more important, food or people?”

Jiang Dao was indifferent: “I was sure no one would have an accident, so food is more important.”

Chu Yinlong laughed angrily. “Still stubborn. If I fall into the water at the same time as a cabbage, will you rescue the cabbage first?”

Jiang Dao nodded solemnly. “Yes.”

Chu Yinlong: …

Is this on purpose? Did he pit himself on purpose?

Seeing his joke succeed, Jiang Dao couldn’t help laughing.

“After all, a cabbage can’t swim, and it can also fill the stomach.” He continued, “Otherwise, if I’m hungry, should I eat you?”

Hearing this, Chu Yinlong looked at Jiang Dao with a strange expression. Jiang Dao nestled in the rattan chair, resting his cheeks in one hand, and smirked at Chu Yinlong.

Chu Yinlong immediately understood – this child said this on purpose, in order to take advantage of him verbally.

“Tsk, childish.”

“Hmph, hypocrite.”

“I never said I was a gentleman.”

With a few jokes, the conflict between the two was resolved. After all, they are not hypocritical people, and no one cares about these little things.

“Give this phone to the recording team first, and let them take it to the town for repair.” Chu Yinlong said, “I don’t have tools, so it’s not convenient to disassemble it, otherwise I can handle it myself.”

“Ah…” Jiang Dao looked confused. “Then what do I listen to when I sleep?”

“You can borrow mine first,” said Chu Yinlong, who happened to see the bluetooth earphones on the bedside, and smiled, “It just so happens that it’s already paired, but I may not have the same videos on my phone. Do you listen to e-books?”

“It should be, as long as it’s human.” Jiang Dao said, showing a sweet smile to Chu Yinlong, “Mr. Chu, you are really a good person!”

Chu Yinlong glanced skeptically at him: “Don’t pretend to be good.”

Then he waved the assistant director over, handed Jiang Dao’s cell phone over, and said a few words.

Returning to the room, he randomly picked a popular science e-book to broadcast, handed his phone to Jiang Dao, then lay down on the bed with his clothes on, and seized the time to make up for an afternoon nap.

Jiang Dao put on his bluetooth headset. Lying beside Chu Yinlong, listening to the magnetic voice in the e-book, he fell asleep almost as soon as he closed his eyes.

Then, he fell into a nightmare.

The dream is very vague, without any specific things, but panic and despair gripped Jiang Dao’s heart. He seemed to be torn, bitten, chewed, and swallowed by something…

“Xiao Dao!”

A voice came from far away.

“Xiao Dao… Jiang Dao, let go…”

It kept calling.

“Jiang Dao… Hey!”

After an unknown period of time, the world suddenly became quiet.

It was so quiet… as if all beasts were dormant before the disaster, as if people were wiped out after a war…

The trembling from his soul pulled Jiang Dao out of his dream. He finally woke up and opened his eyes suddenly.

What caught my eye was the frowning, tangled face of Chu Yinlong. Chu Yinlong was pinching his chin with one hand, and his thumb was stuck between his teeth.

Jiang Dao ducked back and stared back in confusion.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen someone have a nightmare and bite themselves until they bleed.”

Chu Yinlong said, putting the bluetooth earphone he took off from his hand aside, and asked, “Doesn’t it hurt?”

Hearing this, Jiang Dao felt some tingling in his lips after realizing it, and there was an iron taste in his mouth. He raised his hand to wipe his mouth, and the pulp of his finger was stained with water red.

“Don’t touch your hands, I’ll get the medicine.” Chu Yinlong rolled over and got out of bed.

“It’s alright, it’s a small injury,” Jiang Dao stretched out the tip of his tongue and slid over the wound twice. “Just lick it.”

Seeing that Jiang Dao really didn’t care, Chu Yinlong didn’t insist. Sitting back on the edge of the bed, he asked, “What did you dream about, being so cruel to yourself?”

Jiang Dao closed his eyes, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

Stretching his body and extending his waist, he opened his eyes to stare at the beam of the house. His tone was indifferent when he replied: “I dreamed that I was eaten by someone…”

At the end, he added: “This time it is a serious ‘eating’, skinning and eating. Like they’re chewing on my bones.”

Chu Yinlong: …

He didn’t know how to respond.

Such a superfluous poor explanation.

It was not early, so the two of them didn’t go back to sleep. They got up and tidied up, just in time for Qi Peng to knock on the door.

“We’re going to go pick watermelons.” Qi Peng’s voice sounded outside the door. “Get up and get ready.”

“We’re up already.” Jiang Dao murmured and pushed the door out.

As soon as they had a face-to-face, Qi Peng was stunned.

After a long while, he frowned: “Xiao Dao, you mouth…” He looked suspiciously into the room, and his eyes fell on Chu Yinlong’s face.

Chu Yinlong immediately knew what he was thinking and felt helpless. “He bit himself in a nightmare.”

Qi Peng didn’t believe him. “Who can bite himself like this in a dream? You really didn’t hit him?”

Chu Yinlong stared back. “You really think I’d do this?!”

Jiang Dao chuckled and walked into the yard with a smile.

Director Mu came out of the house with the thermos cup in his hand, and when he saw Jiang Dao, he was stunned: “What’s wrong with your mouth?”

Before he finished speaking, his eyes fell on Chu Yinlong.

Jiang Dao replied cutely: “I had a nightmare, I bit it myself.”

Chu Yinlong held out his hands to Qi Peng: “See?”

At this time, Hai Tang came gracefully, passed by Jiang Dao, and said in surprise, “Ah, Xiao Dao, what’s wrong with your mouth??”

Then, she frowned and looked at Chu Yinlong reproachfully.
