Back in the room, Chu Yinlong was a little surprised to see that Jiang Dao was still awake.

“Director Mu needed me for something, so I was delayed for a while.” After speaking, he walked to the socket by the door, unplugged the fully charged earbuds, and connected them to his phone. After pulling up a random e-book, he finally handed the device to Jiang Dao. “Here.”

“Thanks.” Jiang Dao took the earbuds and said casually, “It might rain, I don’t know if we can still play tomorrow.”

“Huh?” Chu Yinlong took off his shirt and put on pajamas, a little puzzled. “Where did you read the weather forecast?”

“No,” Jiang Dao stared at Chu Yinlong’s broad back as he changed, and then took his gaze back lazily. “It looks like the clouds are coming down when I was playing just now. I can smell it… Either at night or in the early morning tomorrow, there’ll be rain.”

Chu Yinlong smiled and lay down on the bed. “So magical?”

“If you don’t believe me, forget it.” Jiang Dao pouted.

Chu Yinlong really didn’t believe him. “I checked the forecast for the past few days before we came here. There’s no rain.”

Jiang Dao sneered at him. “This place is between a lake and a mountain. Any weather forecast more than 6 hours ahead is inaccurate.”

“Okay,” Chu Yinlong conceded helplessly. “Fairy Jiang1he’s joking that JD has divine powers to read the weather, go to sleep.”

“Hmph…” Jiang Dao didn’t bother to explain any more. Changing his position to hold the quilt more comfortable, he closed his eyes, feeling sleepy. It took a moment before he fell asleep to the hypnotic drone of the e-book.

In the dim room, Chu Yinlong turned his head to look in Jiang Dao’s direction.

The big boy fell asleep very quickly. Seeing him deep asleep, he didn’t seem like an insomniac at all.

But thinking back to earlier today, he couldn’t wake up the nightmare-ridden Jiang Dao easily.  Later, he took off his earbuds, and the child opened his eyes almost immediately… The fact that he would lose sleep without background noise was completely unheard of.

But it didn’t sound like he was lying either.

Who knows how Jiang Dao’s strange habit was formed.

However, there are quite a lot of people with quirks in this world, and Chu Yinlong didn’t plan to ask in detail.

He stretched out the quilt in the dark, ready to go to sleep. He didn’t want to pull the quilt too much, and accidentally touched Jiang Dao’s hand beside him.

The next second, Chu Yinlong felt his fingers suddenly being grabbed.

“Jiang Dao?” In the darkness, Chu Yinlong called out in surprise.

Jiang Dao’s breathing was still deep, obviously still asleep.

However, he still held Chu Yinlong’s little finger tightly. Chu Yinlong tried to take his hand away, but his fingers were clenched even tighter.

Helpless, Chu Yinlong decided to wait for Jiang Dao to fall asleep and let go by himself.

Pulling the quilt with his other hand, he lay up straight, facing the ceiling, and soon fell asleep.

A night without dreams.

The next day, Jiang Dao woke to the sound of rain in his ears.

The sky was dim, and there was no smell of dirt in the air. Obviously, the rain had been falling for a long time, and the dust had been washed away long ago.

Hearing the clear sound of rain, Jiang Dao realized for a moment that he had lost his earbuds.

He opened his eyes abruptly, raised his hand to his ear in amazement and wanted to confirm the whereabouts of the earbuds, but suddenly found that what he was holding was not the quilt, but the arm of the man beside him. The skin tightly pressed against his carried the other party’s slightly higher body temperature, slowly permeating into his body.

Jiang Dao’s heart jumped, and he quickly looked at Chu Yinlong’s face, hoping that the man who was hugged by him in a daze hadn’t woken up yet.

But when he looked up, their eyes met.

Jiang Dao: …

Chu Yinlong: …

After a momentary lapse, Chu Yinlong got up. Pulling away his arm seamlessly, he sat on the edge of the bed, and stretched.

Jiang Dao took the opportunity to turn over, pulled the quilt over his waist, and pretended that nothing happened.

The silence in the room lasted for a long time.

Chu Yinlong broke the silence first. “It’s really raining.”

Jiang Dao turned over, propped up his head, and said lazily: “How is it? Do you believe me now?”

“Believe, I believe you.” Chu Yinlong smiled, got up and walked to the door, picking up the phone that was charging.

Immediately afterwards, he made a puzzled hum. “Last night, the internet may have disconnected, and the e-book stopped… You haven’t slept at all?”

Jiang Dao remembered his doubts that had not been resolved yet.

Falling silent, he raised his hand to touch his empty ear. Turning over to look on the bed, he finally shook out a bluetooth earbud from the piled quilt.

“What’s the situation?” Chu Yinlong couldn’t help asking.

“I… uh, I fell asleep with the earbuds you lent me.” Jiang Dao replied. “I don’t know when it fell off.”

Chu Yinlong was even more surprised. “You lost your earbuds, but didn’t wake up?”

“I don’t know why I didn’t wake up.” Jiang Dao frowned, looking down at the small earbuds in his hand, trying to recall what he had last night. He didn’t even dream last night.

He slept so well last night, otherwise he wouldn’t even notice that his earbuds fell out.

Chu Yinlong stepped forward, rummaged around the bed with Jiang Dao, and took out another earbud from the crack of the pillow.

Putting the earbuds back into the charging box, Jiang Dao had a strange expression on his face. “It’s strange. I… um, I haven’t been able to fall asleep without listening to sounds for a long time.”

“How did you develop this problem?” Chu Yinlong asked in a joking tone.

“I can’t remember.” Jiang Dao naturally did not answer seriously.

However, Chu Yinlong didn’t pursue a topic that was casually talked about. He opened the door to look at the heavy rain curtain outside, and said, “The film crew hasn’t gone up the mountain yet. There shouldn’t be any activities this morning… Who knows what we’ll do for lunch.”

Jiang Dao finally got up to change his clothes. He was surprised to hear the comment about lunch. “They won’t really make us starve, right?”

Chu Yinlong turned back and raised his eyebrows. “Maybe?”

Jiang Dao looked at the rain outside the window. “When I was running yesterday morning, I found a lot of wild vegetables nearby. We can go out in the rain to dig a little and come back to make a meal with rice.”

Chu Yinlong asked with a smile, “You can recognize wild vegetables?”

“Yes.” Jiang Dao had a smug look on his face. “My ability to survive in the wild is very strong. Just a meal won’t faze me.” After explaining he returned to the bedroom to start strength training.

Chu Yinlong went to wash up, and when he came back, he smiled. “You’re a hard worker.”

Jiang Dao said while doing squats, “Can’t help it, my body is too weak.”

Chu Yinlong sat down beside the bed, watching as Jiang Dao finished a training set. “Weak? You have a little muscle. It’s enough for an idol to be like this, yet you still practice?”

Jiang Dao gave him a look. “Who doesn’t want eight-pack abs.”

Chu Yinlong hummed noncommittally. He was about to say something when he heard the phone vibrate and turned around to pick it up: “What’s the matter?”

His assistant’s voice came through the speaker: “Jiang Dao’s mobile phone is unreachable. His agent found me and said that he booked a flight to Linshi tomorrow morning to participate in an audition.”

Chu Yinlong raised his eyebrows: “Audition?”

Assistant Dao: “Yes, his agent didn’t go into details, but I checked it carefully. There are a few cast auditions in Linshi Dulin Film and Television City tomorrow. But the one that best fits Jiang Dao’s positioning is a film called “Demon in the Peach”. An online drama…”

“You don’t need to report this to me.” Chu Yinlong interrupted his assistant. “When his phone is fixed, I’ll ask him to call the agent back.”

Hearing that the call might be related to him, Jiang Dao stopped training. Rolling over, he sat on the ground, looking at Chu Yinlong suspiciously.

On the phone, the assistant spoke faster: “But, boss, the director of that web drama is Li Cheng.”

Chu Yinlong paused slightly while holding the phone. After a moment, he asked, “Are you sure?”

“Sure.” The assistant replied, “But whether the opportunity was given to Jiang Dao by Xingyao Media or his team, I’m not sure.”

Chu Yinlong was silent. He looked at Jiang Dao, eyes falling on the young man’s sweaty and slightly red face, and stayed for a long time.

Jiang Dao raised his eyebrows suspiciously.

“Understood, I’ll ask.” Chu Yinlong said briefly. “I’m hanging up.”

After cutting off the call, he lowered his eyes and sent out a few texts on his phone. But because it was too early, after waiting for a long time with receiving a reply, Chu Yinlong tossed his phone aside irritably, walked to the door of the house, and looked at the dense rain curtain outside.

“Is something the matter?” Jiang Dao broke the silence.

“En,” Chu Yinlong said lightly. “Your agent booked you a flight ticket to Linshi tomorrow to go to an audition.”

Audition?

Why can’t he remember what Jiang Dao, the villain in the book, received during this period?

Oh… yes, in the plot, Jiang Dao was making a fuss on the “Fall in Love” crew at this time, so he probably missed this audition.

Jiang Dao sighed.

Sure enough, what should come will come.

He can refuse Chu Yinlong’s invitation, but he cannot bluntly refuse the work arrangement given to him by the company.

“Don’t want to go?” Chu Yinlong asked.

“I don’t want to go, but I still have to go. I can’t refuse the company’s arrangement.” Jiang Dao said, and smiled slyly. “But… it doesn’t matter. It’s fine if I can’t be selected.”

“So you don’t want to act?” Chu Yinlong He raised his eyebrows.

Jiang Dao nodded: “En, I just don’t want to act.”

At this time, there was a reply on his phone. Chu Yinlong clicked it immediately. After exchanging a few words with the other party, his face became darker and darker, and his brows wrinkled unconsciously.

After a long time, Chu Yinlong locked the phone, put it back in his pocket, and looked at Jiang Dao with complicated eyes.

Jiang Dao: “What?”

Chu Yinlong continued the topic and explained: “The director you’ll be auditioning for is Li Cheng. This… No matter how bad your audition is, Li Cheng will definitely give you a role, and it won’t be a bad one either.”

Jiang Dao was surprised to hear this. “What do you mean? You know the director I’ll be auditioning for?”

Chu Yinlong snorted. “Li Cheng is a bully. Those who don’t know him probably don’t know that he likes beautiful boys, and has used the resources in his hand to sleep with a lot of new artists in the past few years. If you really land into his hands…”

Jiang Dao ‘s face turned cold, staring straight at me Chu Yinlong with calm eyes.

“…So, you’d better not go to that audition. Otherwise, once you get a role and the company asks you to play it, you won’t be able to refuse.” His voice softened, and he looked a little helpless. “Of course, it’s just a suggestion. How you decide is up to you.”

After a long time, Jiang Dao raised the corner of his mouth and smiled.

He looked at Chu Yinlong, his eyes full of self-deprecation. “This is why I don’t want to stay in the entertainment industry.”

It may be late, but it’s still here.

The “it” in the final sentence refers to those unspoken rules – i.e., sleeping with someone for resources, etc.
