After the torture scene wrapped up a few days ago, filming of Jing Yu’s indoor scenes officially ended.

So that night, he took Jiang Dao out for a drink. On the way back to the hotel, he stalked Jiang Dao to his room and insisted on enhancing their brotherhood. In the end, he had a giant sob session in Jiang Dao’s room before passing out due to the alcohol and falling asleep obediently.

Jiang Dao didn’t treat the incident seriously, and Jing Yu didn’t think about it at all, so he didn’t think there was any problem, so neither showed the slightest clue after it happened.

So, when Chu Yinlong suddenly heard Jing Yu’s words, his heart shook violently.

“You—” he blurted out.

But he couldn’t finish.

Jiang Dao grabbed the bottle from Jing Yu’s hand: “Okay, don’t drink… don’t pretend to be drunk.”

Jing Yu smiled. Despite his flushed appearance, his eyes were still clear – obviously he was not too drunk, and just more excited and lively than usual.

“It’s getting late,” Chu Yinlong’s flat voice came from the side. “Go back and rest.”

“Oh.” Seeing that the variety show was over, Jing Yu nodded obediently, got up, and stretched a hand out to pull Jiang Dao up. “Let’s go.”

“…Wait a sec, Xiao Dao, I have something to ask you.” Chu Yinlong added another sentence.

So Jiang Dao collapsed back onto the sofa and waved at Jing Yu: “You go back to your room. I haven’t slept well recently, and want to make up for it tonight.”

Jing Yu’s face was unhappy, but he obediently turned around and left.

Back inside, Chu Yinlong was silent for a moment before asking, “What’s the situation between you and Jing Yu?”

Jiang Dao was stunned for a moment, before understanding. He smiled: “You mean him running to my room to sleep? Isn’t it because your scolding made him uncomfortable, so he found his ‘peer’ for comfort? The child cried so much thinking he doesn’t have the talent for acting.”

Hearing this, Chu Yinlong replied, “He has a good talent, a good understanding, and can act when he thinks it through. But he lacks experience and needs to build more resistance to pressure… Crying at every turn, how does he look like a man?”

“He’s still a child!” Jiang Dao snorted.

Chu Yinlong obviously disagreed with him. “Child? He’s already twenty-two… and older than you. I haven’t scolded you any less, why don’t you cry?”

Jiang Dao raised his eyebrows proudly: “I’m thick-skinned.”

Chu Yinlong: …

“It’s actually a good thing to be able to cry.” Jiang Dao cracked open another beer and took a sip. “After crying, the pressure in one’s heart is released, and they’ll fare better against pressure in the future. If he keeps the pressure in his heart and doesn’t let it out, he’ll have problems.”

Taking another sip, he smiled wryly. “As for me… filming doesn’t actually give me much pressure. No matter how much you scold me, I won’t feel any pressure. And without pressure, of course there’s no need to vent.”

“No pressure…” Chu Yinlong muttered helplessly. “Because you don’t care, that’s why there is no pressure.”

Jiang Dao took another gulp of beer with a smile and didn’t answer.

“But even if you don’t care, you have to consider others.” Chu Yinlong said. “Being friends with other actors is good, but keep it private. It’s best not to cross the line, especially in public places like a hotel… Although this hotel is pretty good it doesn’t mean it can completely block reporters. Once someone photographs you and Jing Yu sleeping in the same room, even if you don’t care, what about him?”

Chu Yinlong’s words made sense, so Jiang Dao nodded. “Okay, I’ll pay attention later.”

After he finished speaking, he teased: “But I’ve come to your room several times at night. Even if I haven’t stayed overnight, it’s not too short either, and enough time to do some things. Why aren’t you afraid of us being photographed?”

Chu Yinlong: …

What is he trying to say with “it’s not too short either, and enough time to do some things”?

Do what things?

How can this kid speak so crudely!

After clearing his throat, Chu Yinlong said calmly: “No one dares spread scandals about me.”

The next second, there was a hurried knock on the door, and the voice of Chu Yinlong’s assistant came from outside. “Boss! There is an urgent matter!”

Chu Yinlong got up and opened the door.

Assistant Xiao Yang immediately entered eagerly, and began speaking: “Your going out to eat with Jiang Dao today was filmed! Combined with the most recent variety show broadcast, and the matter of Jiang Dao’s transfer, someone claiming to be an insider posted a long article on Weibo, saying that Jiang Dao is trying to climb the ladder using the unspoken rules with you… It’s now on the hot search. The PR team has tried several ways, but can’t take it down!”

Chu Yinlong was stunned. Before he could react, he heard a loud laugh from the sofa.

Jiang Dao asked heartlessly: “What did Teacher Chu say just now?”

Chu Yinlong opened his mouth, but had nothing to say.

Beside him, assistant Xiao Yang’s chin was about to hit the ground: “Jiang, Jiang, Jiang—why are you here?! Ah! I’m sorry, boss!” After speaking, he turned around and went to the door.

“Come back! Where are you going?” Chu Yinlong said with a sullen face. “Come in and tell me what’s going on.”

Assistant Xiao Yang sat down on the sofa, feeling like his heart was going to leap out of his chest when he looked at Jiang Dao.

Jiang Dao glanced at him, then raised his head and finished the last sip of beer. Putting the can on the coffee table, he got up and said, “I’ll go back first, you two talk.”

“En.” Chu Yinlong nodded.

Then he warned: “Don’t check Weibo when you go back. Don’t worry about what they’re saying online, and have a good rest.”

Before going out, Jiang Dao turned his head and grinned. “Don’t worry, I really don’t care.”

Seeing the door slowly closing behind him, Chu Yinlong exhaled. His face became cold.

He took the tablet from his terrified assistant, scanned the long article quickly, and finally stopped on the two blurred photos.

The angle of one of the photos was very tricky. They got off the bus one after the other, but the person who took the photo caught the moment when they were staggered, making it seem like two people sticking together and walking side by side.

The other photo is the moment they entered the room – Jiang Dao seemed to look at the camera intentionally or unintentionally. It was precisely because of this photo that many voices in the comment area were speculating if the whistleblower was Jiang Dao himself. Did he ask someone to expose it? Otherwise, why would he look at the camera? Unless he somehow knew someone was waiting to take a photo?

“What did public relations say? They can’t take it down?” Chu Yinlong asked.

“Yes,” the assistant nodded. “Secretary Zhang said that the PR side is still working hard, but it has been almost half an hour. Not only has the hot search not been removed, but it’s climbed several times, and reached… number 3.”

“Someone’s obviously pushing the news.” Chu Yinlong frowned, swiped his fingers down, and scanned the comment area.

“I know this restaurant! I came to this film and television city when I was chasing Tangtang before. Many stars will come to this restaurant. So vixen Jiang really hugged thighs! Who knows, maybe he’s already won a role in Chu Yingdi’s film!”

“Reply: He’s just a vase, and wants to act in a movie?”

“I just watched the variety show, and thought Jiang Dao’s acting skills were good. Now that I think about it, that scene is clearly preplanned [cold sweat]”

“Reply: Acting skills are good? Didn’t he forfeit by himself in the end? He also chose the dare and fought against Chu Yingdi. It’s so obvious this plot is just a prearranged act.”

“Who knows why they filmed the geese deliberately being afraid of him [doge]”

“Reply: Yes, I just watched a variety show with a bunch of people who laughed. I don’t think it’s funny. What did the goose do wrong to be bullied like this?”

“Reply: Who knows if someone outside the camera scared the geese. The geese are so pitiful [grievance]”

“Are there Long fans here? Help, sisters, Father Long seems to have interacted with this Jiang Dao several times before. It can’t be true…”

“Reply: Sister, hang on. We have to believe in Father Long!”

“Reply: Don’t worry, Father Long won’t [touches head]”

Chu Yinlong threw the tablet back to the coffee table and picked up his mobile phone.

Just as he was about to call, a phone call came in. He looked at the number and reluctantly pressed connect.

“Auntie,” Chu Yinlong got up and went to the balcony. “Calling so late?”

Lu Zhengrong’s voice sounded on the phone: “I just finished a meeting and saw you’re on the hot search again. What’s the matter, someone’s messing with you?”

“Who dares mess with me?” Chu Yinlong snorted. “Their goal is Jiang Dao.”

On the phone, Lu Zhengrong sounded very relaxed: “Is that so… Hey, don’t be impulsive, don’t rush up by yourself.”

For a long while, Chu Yinlong didn’t speak.

Lu Zhengrong was taken aback: “Do you really want to speak up?!”

Chu Yinlong said: “PR can’t handle it anymore, so I have to handle it directly.”

Lu Zhengrong was shocked to hear his words, and her voice raised sharply by half a degree. “It’s been so many years, why are you still so rough when handling these things? The nature of this matter is completely different from those who touched you in the past. If you rush out in person, the situation will only get worse.”

Chu Yinlong: “It’s all gossip and rumors, deliberately distorting my relationship with others. What’s the difference?”

Lu Zhengrong: “You had a clear conscience before.”

Chu Yinlong: “This time I also—”

There was a long pause.

Lu Zhengrong asked with a smile: “Do you have a clear conscience this time? Why didn’t you finish?”

Chu Yinlong replied with a dark face, “I also have a clear conscience this time. Jiang Dao doesn’t need unspoken rules at all, and he didn’t flatter me. He is naturally worthy of those variety show opportunities and roles.”

Lu Zhengrong chuckled, pretending to be mysterious. “Okay, since you are clear-minded, then you can go ahead and use your own methods. You don’t intend to get closer to him anyway, so there’s no danger of slapping yourself in the face. Since you have a ‘clear conscience’ towards him, even if you drag him down, you won’t feel bad. As for losing fans, turning fans black, etc, those are all trivial matters. You don’t care, and he doesn’t care, right?”

Chu Yinlong: …

After a moment of silence, Chu Yinlong raised his hand and pinched his forehead. “I was too impulsive. The comments are being controlled, and there’s obviously someone behind it. Could it be Xingyao Media?”

Lu Zhengrong was silent for a long time.

When she spoke again, her voice was full of doubt: “Do you know what Jiang Dao has to do with the Qin family?”

Chu Yinlong was stunned. “The Qin family?”

“I inquired a bit. Although the other party was pretty vague, it sounds like Tianqin Capital wants to mess with him… Does he have a grievance with the Qin family?”
