Ancient Eden

Chapter 31

Yi Jia revealed a eerie smile to Mu Qing.

He then turned back to pull the young plump girl’s hand and then left towards one side of the forest. The two figures very quickly disappeared.

Mu Qing’s heart which was about to jump out of her chest just now finally calmed down. The voice shouting her name was gradually turning a little weaker, Youyou’s mother had probably changed direction and was now looking towards the deep forest to find her. She hurriedly stood up and shouted  in response in the direction of the source of the voice, while hurriedly walking towards the settlement.

She had only walked ten meters away, when a black shadow suddenly leapt out of the forest on her right side. Her arm was immediately tightly clutched, and she felt a sharp pain, like her arm was about to broken.

Once again, Mu Qing was very frightened, she shrieked in surprise, and fixed her eyes on the person. When she saw that it was Li Mang, she breathed a sigh of relief.

The expression on Li Mang’s face looked like he was furious. He pulled her arm and spoke loudly, as if he was demanding an explanation from her.

Mu Qing couldn’t tell him why she was late in returning, even if she could speak their language, this kind of matter, she would have to forget it right after seeing it, she would never mention it to anyone. Her only hope now was that he would let her go, for her wrists were about to break. Unable to endure the pain, she pointed with her left hand at her right hand that was being clutched by him, with a face distorted by the pain.

Li Mang let go of her hand. He was probably conscious that there was the barrier of communication between the two of them and he stopped speaking. He only looked at her with wrinkled eyebrows.

Mu Qing massaged her wrist which felt as if it had been crushed, and a wave of anger surged up in her heart. She snorted, turned her head, and started to walk in the direction of the settlement. Li Mang walked behind her and whistled loudly in the direction of the forest, probably to inform Youyou’s mother that she had been found.

When Mu Qing returned to the settlement, Youyou shouted and ran towards her as soon as she saw her. Fearing that walking might be inconvenient for her, Mu Qing hurriedly walked a few steps forward and picked her up. Youyou wrapped her arms around her neck and continuously muttered words, with a happy look on her face. Youyou’s mother very quickly also came back. Seeing her safe and sound, her face revealed a light smile. This made Mu Qing feel a little sorry, feeling that she had caused them trouble.

She ate in a few bites the dinner that Youyou’s mother had left for her. When she turned her head, she saw that Li Mang was still standing on the side, looking at her. His face, illuminated by the light of the fire, appeared sometimes bright and sometimes dark. Remembering what he did to her last night, in her heart, she was actually a little unwilling to go back.

Youyou and her siblings were forced by their mother to go inside their hut to go to bed, the campfire turned a little dim, and then she saw a man walking towards them, it looked like he was the man of their family.

Mu Qing helplessly got up and went back to Li Mang’s hut. When she passed by him, her face was tense.

He seemed to be still very dissatisfied with her disappearance just before, and the way he rubbed her skin was a little rougher than the night before. When his head slid down there again, Mu Qing suddenly curved her leg and kicked him heavily in the shoulder.

That was the place he had been hurt by that monster bird a few days ago, the wound had already developed into a scar, but it wasn’t completely healed.

When Mu Qing heard him let out a painful sound, she only then realized what she had done.

She did not know either why she had been so impulsive just now, why she had kicked him like that.

Out of nowhere, living like a savage for these few days, the pain in her wrist, the eerie smile that Yi Jia had made before leaving, and the discomfort she felt because of him touching her body, all of these stimulated her nerves. Without even thinking about it, under an impulse, she kicked him heavily.

After she kicked him, she sat up, bent her knees, and held them in her arms, while staring at the man in front of her, who obviously looked very angry.

It was very strange, right now not only did she not have any feeling of fear in her heart, but on the contrary, she felt satisfied, as if she had just vented out, with that one kick, all the repressed grief she had accumulated in her heart these few days. If she could, she really wanted to give a few more heavy kicks on his wound.

She was sure that this man would not hit her back.

He indeed did not do anything, he only growled lowly. Then, suddenly he pushed her back onto the animal skin. This time, he got on top of her somewhat roughly, trapping her waist between his legs. His two hands pressed on her shoulders, and he looked down at her ferociously.

Mu Qing struggled a little before giving up, she could not overpower that tower that was pressing down on her body, and just stared at his eyes the same, without any intention to yield.

Neither of them said a word, there was only the sound of his breathing, getting increasingly louder.
