Chapter 29: Making a Stall

Ginjiro slept until noon today.

He washed his face in the garden well, make his head refreshed, cleaned his clothes with clean magic, and then headed to the dining hall.

“Good morning, Ginjiro-chan.”

Clara’s smile soothes me today.

Harry went to collect medicinal herbs early in the morning.

Tomorrow, I will open a shaved ice stall at the morning market with Milia of the commercial guild, and Harry will help me.

Well, in Harry’s case, he is aiming for Milia-san.

After a late breakfast at Hungry Bear, I headed to Hartman’s blacksmith workshop.

“Is Master here~? I know you’re here…  Excuse me, I’m comming in~ ”

This is the third time I’ve been here already, so I know he won’t come out even when I call him.

After calling out to him, I entered the workshop and saw Master was hitting a sword with a hammer.

I sat and watched him,  after a while he finished his work and walked toward me.

“What? Do you want to do it?”

Master makes a gesture of drinking.

“You are wrong. I came here today with a request. I’m going to run a food stall so I want Master to make me a stall. Since I will carry it in a magic bag, I don’t need wheels, so please make a stall with a large cooking space.”

“This is the first time someone has asked me to build a food stall.”

Well, this request has a chance of winning, because as soon as I showed him the turtle shell bottle of whiskey, Master’s favorite, he immediately said OK.

“By the way, is it possible to make a long table like this?”

I draw a sketch on my notepad, showing a long covered table for guests.

“If it’s just that I can make one another item for you.”

“Can you make a chair to match that table?”

“That’s easy. Add another one.”

“Then can you make a trash can like this?”

“Then why not use mithril as the material? It’s cool to be called a treasure, though it is just a trash can.”

Hmmm…as expected of Master.

He suggests more than what I want.

“But it’s hard to make, isn’t it?”

I asked jokingly, but it didn’t seem an appropriate joke to Master.

“What are you talking about, you idiot? When I said I will make it, I can make it. If there’s anything else you want me to make, say it all right now! I’ll make something that you’ll be satisfied with!”

I have offended Master, but craftsmen are dependable when they are on your side.

I explained the cooking space, counter space, and washing area.

“I know I’m asking a lot, but can Master make just the tables and chairs today?”

As long I have tables and chairs, the food stall can be open tomorrow.

I wondered if it would be all right since it was such an urgent request. I looked at Master and he seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood.

However, I still have some cards in my hand.

“By the way, this Daruma bottle liquor is as popular in my hometown as the turtle shell cut bottled whiskey. It’s a little sweet, so you can drink this one straight up.”

When I show the Daruma bottle to Master, he immediately takes it from me.

TLN: Suntory Old Whisky, this one right?

“It’s a beautiful bottle, but its contents are the most important thing.”

Master twists the cap and smells the aroma of Daruma whiskey.

It’s still noon and he’s drinking straight from the bottle.

“Puhaa~h, it’s sweet, but the alcohol content is strong. That’s the way it should be.”

Apparently, Master liked the Daruma bottle as well.

“If Master finish the stall today, I’ll give you this one, too. Two bottles.”

Ginjiro puts the whiskey bottles on the table with a triumphant look on his face.

It is not a wad of bills, but a style of hitting him on the cheek with the whiskey.

The moment he thought he had won with this, Master laughed eerily.

“Prosciutto. If you add that too, I’ll make them right away.”

Prosciutto? So he wanted that in addition to the whiskey.

That’s 36 months aged from Spain, it is expensive and very precious.

When I looked at Master’s face, he was saying something incomprehensible. “I won’t make it without it.”

“Though it’s my favorite. Take it, robber.”

Ginjiro gets teary-eyed and hands him a log of cured ham.

Of course, it comes with a knife.

Master smirks.

Once the apprentice had brought the tools and the materials, he quickly made the order.

Master is amazing ……

Moreover, it turned out even better than I had imagined.

Master says “Today I have done a good job” and starts drinking whiskey.

He also asked for ice, so I gave him some rock ice.

I was sad that Master took my prosciutto, but since I had caused some trouble to the apprentices, I gave them some Coke and Konpeito.

I did not give Konpeito to Master.

After putting the requested items in the item box, Ginjiro parted ways with Master and the others.

The sun is still high.

Ginjiro’s gait is very heavy, unlike when he comes to the workshop, because of the blazing sun and the 36-month aged prosciutto, which he was looking forward was taken away from him.
