Chapter 56 – Information About Ryudou

“Oh, so you knew. Then that’ll make things quick. If you don’t wanna die, hurry up and spit it out.” (Biker)
―Bingo.

Apparently, it seemed that Kuzuhara’s words were pretty much the truth. At the very least, these guys weren’t the Inochi-shirazu. Without a doubt, these guys were working under the instructions of that leader staying in the love hotel.

And the leader of that insurgent group is…Ryudou, huh?

They probably came to investigate after seeing me, someone they didn’t know, come into contact with Kuzuhara. The fact that they had taken action so quickly made it highly likely that they were monitoring this house on a regular basis. To that end, Ryudou seemed to be very conscious of Kuzuhara.

But what should I do here…?

This was a residential area. It would spoil the fine scenery if we were to fight here. Well, not that it really mattered to me. I just didn’t want anyone to potentially see Torimoto fighting, so…

“If you want to make me talk, you’ll have to catch me first then.” (Torimoto)
I took a big leap from there and jumped on top of the building’s outer wall, running along the narrow scaffold and passing the group of guys. After passing them, I hopped off the wall and began to run off at a speed that they could still keep up with.

“Tch! Don’t let him get away!” (Biker)
Just as I expected, they began to chase after me. I chose a narrow path that would be difficult to traverse by bike and arrived at a certain location.

“―You can’t escape now, you son of a bitch!” (Biker)
It was a riverbed under a bridge. Now that I had lured them here, no one would be able to see what was about to happen.

In order to make sure I wouldn’t be able to run away this time, the guys got off their bikes and began to surround me with weapons in hand.

Well, let’s get started.

“The ones who can’t escape are you.” (Torimoto)
“Hah? What the hell do you me―” (Biker 1)
“―Gugyyaah?!” (Biker 2)
Suddenly, one of them coughed up and fell forward facefirst.

“H-Hey! What’s wrong?!” (Biker 1)
“…! He’s dead?!” (Biker 3)
The fallen man had a large hole in his abdomen, and blood was pouring out of the gaping orifice. It was Sol’s doing, of course, but there was no way these guys would be able to see her flying.

And thus, one by one, those fools fell to an unseen enemy.

“…Sol, stop.” (Torimoto)
When there were two people left, I had Sol wait, and she landed quietly on my right shoulder.

“W-W-What the hell is thiiiis?!” (Remaining Biker 1)
“No way! They’re all dead?!” (Remaining Biker 2)
The remaining two guys didn’t seem to understand what was happening.

“What’s the matter? I thought you weren’t going to let me go? At this rate, it seems that I’m going to be able to escape though.” (Torimoto)
“…?! Y-You bastard, what the hell did you do?!” (Remaining Biker 1)
“Y-Yo, wait! Don’t charge in so carelessly!” (Remaining Biker 2)
Despite the warning, one of the guys flew into a rage and charged at me.

―Swish!

Immediately after, the body of the man who was charging at me was split into two parts at the waist. It was Shiki, who struck from the shadows.

“…Filthy peasant, don’t even think for a second that you’ll be able to touch milord.” (Shiki)
Yup, this guy is so cool.

“Hyyyiiiiiiiii?!” (Remaining Biker 2)
The knees of the last remaining guy crumbled, and he fell on his ass while screaming.

Well, it was nothing out of the ordinary. They had ten people, but all of them had been obliterated in an instant, and a monster that they had never seen before had emerged from the shadows.

“―Well then.” (Torimoto)
With a chilly glare in my eyes, I looked down at the last remaining man who was frightened out of his wits.

“There are a lot of questions I want to ask you. Don’t think for even a moment that you’ll have an easy death, alright?” (Torimoto)
The guy was so terrified that he pissed himself and blacked out, but I was still able to get some information about his leader who lived in the love hotel.

After gently interrogating one of the guys that I happened to run into, I sent him along on his way to hell, where the demons were surely waiting for him. Since these guys had been continuously committing evil like idiots, Enma would probably be deciding which layer of hell they deserved to be dropped into right about now.

(TL: Enma – the Japanese version of the Hindu god Yama, the deity who presides over death and the underworld.)

Along the same lines, I would probably go to hell when I died, too. Regardless of the reasons, I had sent many people to their deaths by this point.

Anyway, putting aside such wild ideas, I began to sort through the information that I had obtained from that guy.

“As expected, Ryudou was setting up base in that love hotel.”
I also found out that it was definitely Ryudou’s men that were doing terrible things while dressed up as the police. Apparently, Ryudou had been harassing Kuzuhara like a child after Kuzuhara refused his invitation.

He had all of the subordinates under him call themselves the Inochi-shirazu and unleash violence and mayhem. And in doing so, he seemed to be planning to drag the reputation of the real Inochi-shirazu through the mud.

It actually worked, and right now, the Inochi-shirazu were seen as being the worst insurgent group out there.

I tried to ask that guy why they were trying so hard to undermine Kuzuhara, but he was too low on the ladder to know the answer to that question. In the end, only a higher-up would know the details of the feud between the two men.

But without a doubt, Ryudou’s character was definitely the more evil of the two. According to the information I had so far, Ryudou either killed all of the women that he got tired of raping or gave them to his subordinates. Also, when it came to those subordinates who failed their missions, he was relentless. Even though they were his subordinates, public executions and things like that were common.

And if found a building he likes, he would break in and take it for himself, no questions asked. He was truly a man who believed that he was the supreme law in this world. Ryudou was a headache of a guy who seemed to think that he was the center of the universe from the bottom of his heart.

“I have a feeling that it would be unsatisfactory to leave this man alone. If milord commands this one to, this one will go and take him down myself.” (Shiki)
“Yeah, Sol can do it too!” (Sol)
To the two of them, Ryudou seemed to be an extremely unpleasant person.

“…For now, I’ll meet Kuzuhara again as Komon. And then maybe we’ll talk about Ryudou again.” (Torimoto)
“Are you sure about this, milord?” (Shiki)
“Yeah. Besides, Kuzuhara hasn’t even spoken with Komon yet… Didn’t he say he was going to attack a dungeon soon?” (Torimoto)
“Certainly, he did say something to that effect.” (Shiki)
“He said he wanted a bigger base, but… I wonder if that’s his true intention in the end.” (Torimoto)
“Hmm. Then what do you suppose his true intention is, milord?” (Shiki)
“I was thinking that perhaps it has something to do with Ryudou.” (Torimoto)
“I see…” (Shiki)
But in the end, that was just a hunch. In the first place, was it a big enough matter to have Kuzuhara go out of his way to seek out other peoples’ strength?

No, if his only purpose was to attack a dungeon, why would he need Komon? It was possible for him to try and bring in the Apostles of Peace, which was well-known publicly.

In the end, Komon was just one person. It would be normal for a person to think that even if someone was strong, they wouldn’t be a match for sheer numbers. And yet…

“Anyway, there seems to still be something up with Kuzuhara. I’m gonna have to rely on you two to not let your guards down from here on out.” (Torimoto)
“Of course!” (Sol)
“Yes! This one will make full use of these scythes to cut down milord’s opponents and destroy everything that may come to harm milord!” (Shiki)
Hearing their dependable replies, I left the place feeling satisfied.
