Chapter 42: Angered To Tears

As if to confirm Mu Rongcheng’s words, the piercing honk of a car suddenly sounded!

—A car was being blocked and honked its horn incessantly.

The pedestrians at the hospital gate looked over, and Mu Zi’s expression twisted for an instant.

She had no other choice but to bite her lip and get into the car miserably. She felt inexplicably humiliated.

However, Mu Rongcheng felt that she was too far and pulled her so close to his side that their legs were basically touching.

Mu Zi wanted to escape, but he clamped down on her hand tightly!

She gasped in shock.

This b*stard was unscrupulous! Bai Wei and the chauffeur were right in front!

Sure enough, Bai Wei heard movements from behind and asked, “Rongcheng, why are you pulling Zizi?”

“Ah, I was telling her about Sisi.” Mu Rongcheng replied casually while holding her hand. He had no intention of letting go.

Alarms went off in Mu Zi’s heart. “Sisi? What about Sisi?!”

She did not forget how Mu Rongcheng had used the snake to test her previously! —It was clearly a pet that he had raised for several years, but he had lied and said that it was hers, causing her to foolishly play along with his words!

What was Mu Rongcheng planning on mentioning Sisi now?

Was he testing her again? Or was he giving her a warning? Did he find out that she had possessed his younger sister’s body which was why he kept coming onto her?

Mu Zi’s nerves were taut!

Bai Wei said from the front, “You’ve been admitted to the hospital twice in succession, and both times your life was on the line. Your brother and I were very worried… Your brother called for a master to look at feng shui, and he suggested raising a household spirit pet[1] at home. He also said that after raising it for a long time, it can bless the whole family’s health.”

The truth was, Bai Wei did not believe it that much. However, the master had said ‘she is alone and has no one to depend on’, which had struck the deepest part of her heart!

Zizi had no biological parents, so it was true that she was alone and had no one to depend on. Bai Wei would rather believe his words to be the truth than not. If keeping a snake would keep her daughter safe, she would be willing to accept it.

When Mu Zi heard her, her entire body froze.

She thought of how that monster slithered on her and coiled around her legs, and could not help but cry out—

“I don’t want to keep a snake!”

Her voice was slightly shrill because of her desperation. Mu Zi slowed down and softened her tone. She said pitifully, “Mom, I’m scared. I don’t want a snake…”

Bai Wei turned to look at her with eyes full of pain. “Zizi, don’t be scared. Your brother knows you’re afraid, so he’ll move in and live with us. He’ll be the one who feeds it too. Sisi is locked in the enclosure and won’t hurt you.”

Mu Zi felt like she was struck by lightning. She was dumbfounded.

If the news that they had to keep a snake was like pouring icy water into her heart, then Bai Wei’s words were like a slap to her face which blew her all the way to the North Pole! Even her bones were frozen into ice!

Mu Rongcheng was going to move back to the bungalow?!

That was a piece of earth-shattering tragic news!

He was already groping her incessantly now. If they lived together, she would get eaten alive by him!

Mu Zi turned stiffly and looked at Mu Rongcheng.

His handsome face looked nonchalant and he raised his brows. There was a playful smile rippling from his bottomless black eyes, carrying wickedness and wilfulness.

“Zizi, be good.” Mu Rongcheng smiled. His rough fingers gently scratched her palm.

Mu Zi’s body froze. She only felt despair.

Her clear and bright eyes were stained with a thin layer of water. She was angered to tears for the first time in her life!

—This Mu Rongcheng was too evil!
