Chapter 49: Seeking Help

Mu Zi sat expressionlessly and remained quiet, admitting silently.

Jiang Ci stared at her for a while before walking her slender legs over and sat directly opposite Mu Zi. Her eyebrows furrowed as she asked, “Eating noodles without spiciness and onions is Su Zi’s and my habit. How did you know about it? Did Su Zi tell you?”

Mu Zi looked at Jiang Ci. She had a thousand things she wanted to say, but she did not know where to start.

…Before she came, she had been ready to completely spill her guts.

She hesitated, but Jiang Ci was impatient for an answer!

“Is she still alive?!” Jiang Ci interrogated. “Her body hasn’t been found yet, so she must still be alive! She knows that someone is after her, so she entrusted you to give me a message while she remains in hiding, right?!”

In just ten seconds, Jiang Ci made up an elaborate plot regarding Su Zi’s possible murder.

Mu Zi was stunned. Then, she smiled in spite of herself and shook her head. “Your temper is as explosive as ever…”

Jiang Ci completely froze.

The expression and tone of the girl in front of her were strikingly similar to Su Zi!

Mu Zi was completely relaxed at this point. She propped her elbow up and rested her chin on her palm. She teased, “She’s really dead, but you can also say that she’s still alive.”

Jiang Ci stared at her grimly. “What do you mean?”

Mu Zi gave her a sideways glance. “I’m Su Zi.”

Jiang Ci’s eyes widened in disbelief! …Then, her stunned gaze gradually became scrutinizing and solemn.

From her expression, Mu Zi knew that Jiang Ci did not believe her.

That was to be expected. After all, a soul living on after the body had died was not something that ordinary people would accept.

“How about this.” Mu Zi sighed. “Let me put it in another way.”

Jiang Ci crossed her arms across her chest and raised her eyebrows, silently asking Mu Zi to continue.

Mu Zi thought for a moment before saying, “There’s a mole on your left chest…”

Jiang Ci suddenly stood up.

The sudden action caused the table and chair to clatter, which attracted the attention of the waiters in the distance!

“You! …” Jiang Ci hissed.

That mole was in a tricky position. Besides her mother and herself, only Su Zi knew about it!

When they had graduated, they were poor and shared a single room. They took baths together and changed clothes in front of each other without scruples, so they had seen everything on the other’s body!

Mu Zi motioned for Jiang Ci to calm down and pulled on her arm to make her sit.

“I know it’s hard to believe, but now… You’re the only one who can help me.” Mu Zi looked at her with eyes as calm as water.

Su Zi had no parents, and her grandmother who had raised her had already passed away from illness. The only one who could count as her relative was Mu Zening.

However… she would rather not mention that man.

Fortunately, Jiang Ci was reliable, so Mu Zi had to do everything possible to gain her trust.

She went on to say, “Your favorite foods are malatang and beer, but you’ll get acne every time you eat it. You don’t believe in Bazi fortune-telling (TN: Bazi fortune-telling involves analyzing the date and hour of a person’s birth to tell one’s past and future), but you’re obsessed with horoscopes. You hate being called a vase the most (TN: A ‘vase’ is a slang for people who only look pretty but are practically useless, like an ornamental vase) and are always the first to rush to the front to perform arrests. You have an eight-centimeter scar on your waist which you got after getting stabbed when you were capturing a gangster… In junior high, you had a crush on the boy from next door and was just about to confess to him when you discovered that he was gay, and a bottom at that. Ever since then, you developed a psychological block and never developed feelings for another easily…”

Jiang Ci’s complexion shifted from pale to red. She bit her lip and looked at Mu Zi with eyes that were both shocked and angry!

“What else… Let me think.” Mu Zi pondered on what could help prove her identity. “…You love grinding your teeth when you sleep, and sometimes you even talk in your sleep. There was once you dreamed that you became Ultraman and shouted ‘Ultra Beam’ loudly! You scared me awake that night… Oh, right, your singing is tone-deaf and extremely displeasing to hear.”

“Enough!” Jiang Ci’s face was flushed. She gritted her teeth. “I believe you! Don’t say any more!”

It was all about her dark history! She could not bear to listen to it!
