Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 101: Create Chaos

Under the high temperature of the flames, a red spot quickly appeared on the metal. With the blanket blocking the window, Ellen was not afraid that the surveillance equipment in the corridor would see the fire in his cell. Very quickly, under the high temperature, the screws that locked the metal floor started to bounce because of the expansion. Allen did the same, baking the other screws until they jumped up as well.

After the temperature on the screws cooled down slightly, Alan quickly loosened and pulled the screws out, ignoring the heat. He then used his finger to reach into the screw groove and forcefully lifted the metal plate. There is a metal frame under the iron plate to carry the iron frame and to be screwed together. The metal frame was like a wellhead in all directions. Alan could feel the flow of air and the clear sound of water.

He gently unsheathed the metal plate and put it aside. Then, he dived down and jumped into a sewage passage. The sewer was soaked in a thin layer of sewage, and the smell was unpleasant. The passageway was dark, but there was a sewer every five metres. Light was thrown into the pipe through the filter at the sewage outlet, so that it was not impossible to see.

Allen fumbled along the dark side of the pipe and walked a few steps to the police room outside the sluice gate. The voices of people came from above, as if a guard was whispering to each other, occasionally letting out a chuckle. Allen ignored it and used the light from the sewage outlet to explore the path of the sewage pipe. The path of the sewage pipe was not complicated, so it could be seen that the surface prison was not big.

The security force of a prison was proportional to the size of the prison itself. A small prison could not have that many police. This was undoubtedly a good start for Allen and the others to escape from prison. After spending about 40 minutes, Allen had basically figured out the prison structure. Their cell was located in the lower left corner of the prison, and in the middle of the prison, on the horizontal sewer, was a hall for prisoners to eat and let out the wind.

Alan could barely see a few tables through the sewer. Of course, this place was for ordinary prisoners. A felon like them, who was about to be hanged in public, basically had no right to do so.

However, everything was not absolute. Not everyone hated them as much as the warden. Alan knew very well that people on the surface could sometimes commit crimes for a piece of bread. In that case, it didn't seem like it was a big deal for the prison guards to let them off the hook.

He already had a plan.

After returning to the confinement room, Alan put the iron plate back on the ground and screwed the screws back to restore everything. He only touched the sewage pipe, and his body inevitably smelled strange. However, this confinement room might not be that clean, and the strange smell would not arouse the suspicion of the prison guards. Moreover, they had to be willing to enter before they could smell it.

Alan retrieved the blanket and lay back on the bed.

Not long after closing his eyes, it was dawn. Ellen stretched out his body and tapped on the wall with his fingers to see if Webb had woken up. The latter quickly responded, and Alan told him what he found last night. Then he said, "I have a plan, but that requires bribing the prison guards. Unfortunately, I don't have anything valuable on me."

On the other side of the cell, Weber touched his neck and pulled a necklace out of his prison uniform. "I can probably solve this problem," he typed. "Now, tell me what your plan is."

Near noon, Cornell opened the door to the cell as usual. After the door rose to Mish's height, he struggled to squeeze his fat body through the door. Kona didn't like the job, especially the security guard in charge of the cell. The ones in the cell are all lunatics, assholes! They always greet your family in the dirtiest of words.

However, this time, the prisoners seemed to be an exception. Apart from the commotion on the first day, these two days had been very peaceful. Kona found it hard to believe when he accepted the young prisoner. The oldest child here was only fifteen or sixteen years old. These few children had actually killed Tai Ban, a citizen of Rodos Town. When Kona saw the report, he thought to himself that it was either the soldiers or the children.

But they don't look crazy.

But no matter what, it's none of Kona's business. As long as he did his job well and got his monthly salary on time to support his family of five, he would be extremely happy.

"Hey, sir."

As they passed Confinement Room 2, the big boy inside shouted from the window. Kona glanced at the nameplate on the door and knew that the kid inside was called Weber.

"What are you doing? Don't make trouble for yourself if you have nothing else to do." Kona habitually waved his baton.

Webb took off his necklace and shook it through the window. "Look, it's a silver chain. It may not be worth much, but it's enough to buy food for a week or two. Look, I'm dying. I don't need it either. I want to give it to you."

"Gift it to me?" Kona keenly smelled something fishy inside. He raised his head and cautiously looked at the surveillance cameras in the corridor and turned in another direction. "Why, brat, do you want me to give you a full meal?"

"No, no, sir." Webb shook his head and said, "We've been locked up here for three days. We're going to be executed in a few days. See if you can let us out while the Warden is away."

Kona snorted, "That won't do. Let you out. If the Warden finds out, I'll lose my job. A mere silver chain isn't worth the risk."

After saying that, he wanted to leave.

"Wait, wait." Webb shouted and pulled out a ring from his palm. A golden ring. It was originally tied to a silver chain, but Webb took it off. But now, he had no choice but to reveal this trump card.

"I'll give you this as well. You should know that even if you work for ten years, you may not be able to afford such a ring." Webb gritted his teeth.

Cunning little thing!

Connor thought, but I'm smarter than you.

He walked forward and hooked his finger. "Throw out the ring. If it's real, I'll consider it."

Webb took a step back and said, "Sir, we have to agree. If you don't help me with my things, I'll expose you to the Warden!"

"Little bastard, how dare you threaten me?" Kona sneered a few times, but didn't leave.

So Webb knew that he had taken the bait and immediately threw the ring away. Kona picked it up and put it between his teeth. He gently gritted it and weighed it before nodding. "Alright, throw the chain out. Don't forget, there are two people in the police room."

Webb obediently tossed the silver chain out as well.

In the evening, Kona brought another guard in. Kona knocked on Webb's door and said, "We can only let them out for five minutes."

"Alright, I'll trouble you to release my companions." Webb pointed in Alan's direction.

Kona nodded and winked at the other guard. Then he said to Webb, "You have to suffer a little before you go out. After all, we have to be safe."

He then entered a password into the electronic lock next to the door and the two cells were immediately filled with the sound of electric currents flowing.

Fortunately, Ellen and the others had already prepared to use their Origin Energy to quietly counteract some of the damage caused by the electric current, but they were also dulled in electricity and snorted repeatedly. After seeing the two teenagers fall to the ground, Kona and his colleagues entered the cell and put on Origin Energy locks for Allen and the other two.

Alan and Webb arrived at the prison dining hall under the escort of two guards from Kona. When they were pushed forward, twenty or so prisoners in the dining hall looked at them with ill intentions. Webb whispered to Ellen, "Your plan better work. Father gave me that ring!"

"You don't have a better choice now, do you?" Alan smiled.

Webb snorted softly.

The two of them found a corner and sat down.

The dining hall was rectangular and the entrances and exits on both sides were guarded by prison guards. If a prisoner makes trouble in the dining room, the baton on the guard's hand is not a vegetarian. '"See that exit? I checked it last night. Take this exit and turn left. That's the guard's lounge. More importantly, there's a passageway that should lead to the outside world. That passageway is the only way out of jail," Allen said as he nodded to the restaurant exit.

"Alright, then what do you want to do? I don't think those guards will obediently let us leave." Webb whispered.

"That's why the warden let us out while the warden is away. As long as the warden is away, do you think some ordinary guards will be our opponents?" Alan blinked.

Webb patted his head and thought of a simple arrangement for Alan, but it included testing whether the high-end combat strength of the prison was working on intelligence.

"If you want to escape from prison, you have to choose today. I'm afraid you won't have a chance." Alan whispered, "Look at the guards. They still have guns on them."

"So what?" Webb was puzzled.

"What if the prisoner takes the gun?" "I'll make a mess for you," said Allen quickly. "Take a few guns and throw them at the criminals. You'll have to lure the lounge guards over, won't you?"

With that, he stood up and suddenly reached out to knock over a plate in the hands of a passing prisoner.

Seeing the food spilled all over the table, the burly man panted heavily and looked at Alan angrily. Ellen shrugged. "Yes, I did it on purpose. Beat me up, big guy."

"You're courting death!" The burly man roared and threw his fist at Allen's head.

Alan lowered his head and hit the big man, sending him flying. The dining hall was filled with good people, so everyone drank well and surrounded them. Outside the cafeteria, a few prison guards were chatting when they suddenly saw that the cafeteria was in a mess. They immediately opened the door and walked towards the crowd with their batons.

Webb saw a target and quietly got up, hiding behind the criminal and touched it.
