Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 17: Origin Energy Confinement

When Alan heard the phrase "Origin Energy Confinement", he saw Tonislaw's fingers tremble. Then, the second lieutenant forced out a smile. Perhaps it was because of some tension, and his eyeshadow seemed to melt away. Tonislaw pushed Ellen and said, "Baby, I think you should go and see your room. I'll tell you if you're unhappy or need anything else. Where's your room?"

He pointed to the last room on the left at the end of the training area. Without saying anything, Alan picked up Kuang Tu and walked towards the room. He knew that Tonislaw did not intend to let himself hear the conversation that followed. In that case, Origin Energy Confinement would not be a simple matter.

As Alan walked to the door, a laser beam swept past him and quickly scanned his pupils. Then the door "ticked", the electronic lock automatically opened, the door silently retracted to the right. Alan was speechless as he walked into the 30-square-meter room. If it was a bedroom, it was obviously too extravagant. This room alone was bigger than the iron house that Alan had lived in when he was a child. Not to mention the complete facilities in the room, it was practically a small home.

The entrance was a wooden gateway with crystal lamps embedded in it to protect privacy. At the end of the corridor was a separate sanitary suite. Under the gentle lights, one could see a wall made of pure white tiles, stone platforms with patterns, bonsai decorated in the corners, golden faucets, and a set of bathroom utensils. All of them emphasized the word "quality" that Tonislaw often hung by his mouth.

From the partition to the inner chamber, there were two stone steps. The inner chamber was obviously 20 centimeters taller than the entrance. The wooden floor was also laid, and the ceiling was decorated with a suspended ceiling. The main lamp and the auxiliary lamp were kept behind a side of frosted glass, so that the lights projected on the room were bright but not dazzling.

Facing the entrance was a piece of glass that served as a wall, giving one a view of the rest of Babylon in the outer room. Through the glass, one could see a semi-circular balcony with a small but exquisite set of tables and chairs.

In the right corner of the room, there was a set of sofa components for guests. Next to the sofa was an exquisite wine cabinet, extending from the cabinet to a television wall. Normally, it was only a silver-gray wall, but it could project any channel of television program through voice control.

A queen bed big enough for three people rested on the opposite end of the TV wall, with quilts and soft pillows decorated with spikes on the edges. On both sides of the bed, there was a dark golden bed cabinet with a unique table lamp and a small green bonsai.

Alan threw himself onto the bed. As the automatic door gradually closed, he vaguely heard Tonislaw's vague shout from outside, as if he was arguing with Hughton about something. When the door was completely shut, nothing could be heard.

Tonislaw's expression was excited as he tugged at his golden wig and almost screamed, "Major General, are you mistaken? That's just a child! Child! Who would impose Origin Energy Confinement on a child? This is ridiculous!"

No wonder the Second Lieutenant was so excited. Origin Energy imprisonment was usually only used on dangerous criminals who committed serious crimes, especially those who were powerful but were unable to be killed for various reasons. Such a prisoner would be imprisoned by Origin Energy and then flowed out into a remote star system. He would never return, and would eventually die in a corner of the universe.

In the 400 years since the Federation was founded, the Origin Energy Confinement had never been imposed on a child. Not to mention a child on the surface!

"I'm old, but I'm not muddled here." Hughton nodded his head. "Am I not sure if it's Origin Energy Confinement? This is indeed strange. You should find out the identity of this child and who used Origin Energy Confinement on him. His potential is not bad, but he was confined by Origin Energy, so he can't even construct a genetic circuit. Also, there are three layers of confinement in his body!"

"Third floor!" Tonislaw jumped up again. "That person is definitely crazy. Who would use three layers of imprisonment on a child?"

"How would I know? I only know that this person did this because he was afraid of the child's potential." Hughton rolled his eyes and returned to his previous drunken appearance, "Anyway, it's not important that I guide this child. No matter what, he will die."

"Or are you going to change people again?"

'"Major Hughton, you should know that the death arena has never changed players. Now, anyway, please fulfill your duty. Even if my baby Allen dies at the hands of another kid, please guide him with due diligence." Tonislaw leaned forward as if he was about to spit out fire.

Hughton looked at him strangely and said, "When will you care about a little ghost on the surface?"

"Because Ron told me that he jumped into this hell voluntarily." "This courage alone is worthy of my attention," Tonislaw said with a rare solemn expression.

"Courage? Sounds more like an idiot. Who would jump into hell on their own?" Hughton shrugged and said, "Well, if you insist, then let the child stay. But do you want to report it …"

"Not for the time being." Tonislaw shook his head and said, "You know, things related to Origin Energy imprisonment are troublesome. I don't like trouble. If he can't survive, let the secret disappear with him. If he can survive, let others worry about these troubles."

Hughton shook the empty bottle and said, "You're a smart guy."

"Of course. Then I'll leave my Ellen to you. I'll see him later." Tonislaw waved his hand and left with enchanting steps.

Hugh grabbed another bottle of liquor that hadn't been opened yet and thought for a moment. "Forget it, there's work to do next. Don't get drunk again."

"… I'll drink half of it."

Ten minutes later, Alan returned to the hall. Hughton was hiccupping as he spat out a strong stench of wine from his mouth. Alan even wondered if throwing a match into the old man's mouth would light his stomach.

Hughton waved to him, "Alan, are you Alan? Come, let me see your precious weapon first."

Ellen handed him the Berserk Slaughter in his hand. The old drunkard stretched out his hand and swept all the debris on the table to the ground. The wine bottle and glass shattered, making a shattering sound. At this time, a cleaning robot in the corner moved to the side of the table, quickly clearing away all the debris on the ground and returning to its original position. Now Alan knew why Hughton, the old drunkard, was here, but the environment in the hall was still so clean.

"Hey, a magical weapon, although it's only in the first gear." Hughton looked at Ellen and said, "But it's pretty good to be able to get such a thing on the surface. I bet the other kids don't have such a weapon in their hands." Ron gave it to you, didn't he? He really is willing, but with this little bit of Origin Energy, you can't play with it. Let me see, maybe we can adjust the Magic Cube sequence to reduce energy consumption. The power will be reduced by about half, but at least you can use it … "

The old drunkard muttered to himself. He jumped down, shook his body, and said to Alan, "Wait here for me. I need some tools. Fortunately, I brought those treasures along …"

After returning to his room and circling around, Hughton brought over a toolbox. Opening it, there were many tools that Alan couldn't name. With these tools, Hughton unexpectedly dismantled the Berserk Slaughter, which made Alan extremely nervous.

Under Hughton's command, Alan watched as Berserk Tu was disassembled into several parts. Finally, Hughton took out a matchbox-sized part from the bottom of the broadsaber. It's kind of like an integrated circuit, but the patterns on the circuits are much more sophisticated than the circuit boards. Moreover, the patterns formed a faint pattern, and on some of the patterns were round crystals that were only about ten millimeters in diameter.

Seeing Allen's eyes shine and he looked at the item in his hand with interest, Hughton chuckled, "This is the first time I've seen it. This is the Magic Cube sequence, and it's also the heart of a magical weapon." Different combinations of sequences can give different powers to weapons. For example, this one in your hand is only the most ordinary energy sharpness. But even so, you still can't afford its energy consumption … "

"But you can change it." Said Alan.

"Of course," Hughton said with a smile. "In front of you, you are one of the greatest Magic Cube sequencers. However, changing the energy consumption slightly is as simple as blinking my eyes. If you are interested, come and find me after the death arena is over. I will teach you this knowledge. Of course, you also need to be talented in this field. "

Alan immediately agreed. Ron had already said that magical weapons were an important part of the Federation's current combat strength. If he could learn the design knowledge of the Magic Cube sequence from Hughton, it would be incomparably valuable whether it was used to increase his own strength or for other purposes in the future.

Of course, that was after the death arena ended.

Seeing Hughton busy using all sorts of tools to mess with the Magic Cube sequence, Allen couldn't help but ask, "Major General, what is Origin Energy Confinement?"

Hugh paused for a moment, then continued with the work in his hand. "You can simply interpret it as a lock, a lock that closes the Origin Energy Gate, or a damn lock with a password!" He said.

The principle of Origin Energy Confinement was to use a combination of different attributes of Origin Energy to imprison the target's Origin Energy. To achieve the purpose of resisting and eventually exhausting its Origin Energy. Origin Energy Confinement usually works on the heart. Among the human organs, the heart is undoubtedly one of the most important organs. Origin energy relies on blood vessels as the running channel in the body, and the blood vessels of the human body are connected to the heart.

Take Alan as an example. After he refined nine vortexes of Origin Energy, he needed to gather all the vortexes in his heart before he could construct the first genetic circuit. However, Origin Energy confinement acts on the heart. When the Origin Energy vortex enters the heart, it will be confined and it will be difficult to construct a circuit.

The more powerful a person was, the more they would be affected by the Origin Energy Confinement!
