CHAPTER 2.3: I'M TOLD TO FALL IN LOVE

"Um, Celeste is going to give Doris a love lecture, that's how it went...?"

"It just sort of happened."

Instead of going back to his room, Celeste visited Percival's room and sank himself into the couch he knew and looked up at the ceiling.

"My brother, you are a fool."

On Percival's lap, Euphemia, the white cat, slashed her brother with both claws.

"Can't you just confess on the spot and say, 'Be my woman'?"

"Don't be ridiculous!"

Celeste raised his upper body and raised his voice.

From the previous conversation, it's clear that Doris doesn't have the slightest romantic feelings for Celeste.

Rather than hastily announcing his feelings and breaking them up, he thought it would be better to shorten the distance by spending more time together.

"By the way, do you have a lecture plan?"

"No, I don't. I will think about it."

Celeste said firmly.

"I mean, it's love, it's not something you do because you want to do it."

While unconsciously following Euphemia's tail, which swung like a feather broom, with his eyes, Celeste blurted out.

"By the time I realized it, I liked her..."

"Big brother..."

Euphemia's sky-blue eyes sparkled.

"Did you hear that, Percy?"

"I should have audio-recorded it. I wish Doris could hear it."

"You guys, don't ever do that!"

This was when Euphemia and Percival, holding hands (paw?), voiced their anger.

Pop!!

Along with the popping sound of a champagne bottle being unplugged, white and silvery smoke filled the field of vision.

Outside the window, the sky turned tea-colored, and the sun was shimmering as it sank into the horizon.

"Sunset...?"

According to the witch Ripley, Euphemia returns to human form only during the night.

"Yuffie, are you okay?"

I called out to the smoke, which did not clear quickly, and I heard what sounded like a small scream.

"What's the matter!?"

"Oh, big brother, close your eyes now!"

"What?"

"Just do it, quickly! Don't open them until I say so! Or I'll curse you to death!"

Although she couldn't see him, she could imagine her sister's claws curtain from the sound of her voice, so Celeste obediently closed his eyelids.

"Percy-sama too! I'll strangle you if I see you!"

"I'm sorry, I've already seen it..."

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Pang! And the sound of something hitting something echoed.

What on earth is happening where Celeste can't see?

"Yuffie? Percy? Are you done?"

He asks like a hide-and-seek demon.

"Ye, yes!"

Celeste gently opened his eyes, and the white-silver smoke had already cleared.

And Euphemia, who had been in the form of a white cat earlier, had returned to the form of a beautiful girl with richly wavy blonde hair.
However, in the same form as she was born.

Euphemia, whose face was bright red and her eyes moistened, seemed to have taken Percival's jacket and draped it over her bare skin. It was just long enough to cover her knees.

Percival, who had had his jacket ripped off, had an autumn leaf-shaped mark on his cheek and was smiling. The angle of his neck was a little odd, indicating how hard he had been hit. Her glasses were also distorted.

Looking at the two of them intently, Celeste murmured, "From tomorrow, I'll cover you with a blanket before sunset."

That night, Doris was on her way to her room when she received the news that Euphemia had returned to her original form.

(Good... I don't know what to say, but it's a relief to be back in human form...)

I want to see Euphemia at first sight, so I naturally walked fast.

"Don't be in such a hurry, the princess won't run away."

Melinda, who followed from behind, said with a wry smile.

"That's true, but…"

Doris stopped in her tracks.

In the hallway, a young lady was standing.

Doris recognized her long silver hair, which reminded her of tranquil moonlight.

(That one, in the daytime...)

The prospective fiancée who was with Celeste in the courtyard. She was called Lobelia, I think.

Lobelia is standing in front of Celeste's room.

(Is it an errand for your Highness?)

Doris tiptoed up to her, and as she passed her, she said, "Good evening."

"Wait."

Stopped, Doris turned around.

Up close, Lobelia was a breathtakingly beautiful woman.

Her eyelashes, the same silver as her hair, are as delicate as snowflakes, and her deep purple eyes are like the petals of a gracefully blooming violet.

She is half a head taller than Doris and slender, but her ample bosom and the rounded lines around her waist are visible even through her dress.

"I'm sorry if I'm wrong, Doris Norman... Is it?"

"Yes."

Nodding, Lobelia clapped her hands together, "Oh, yes."

"Nice to meet you, my name is Lobelia Carlisle. I'm very close to Celeste."

"Nice to meet you..."

I know because I peeped in, and I can never say… Doris gave an unaccustomed smile, trying to pass it off as bland.

"I have an acquaintance in the Wizarding Division, and I've heard you speak several times, Doris."

Lobelia tilted her thin head and smiled.

"Celeste and I have been friends since we were little, so I wanted to be friends with Doris."

"Haa…"

"I will eventually become Master Celeste's wife, so I would like to get to know his friends while I still can."

(I heard you were a prospective fiancée, but I wonder if you are officially engaged?)

Doris smiled back, despite her doubts.

"It would be my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Lobelia."

"Well, I'm delighted. I look forward to working with you."

Lobelia gently held Doris's hand with her supple hand.

"Oh, my dear? What a lovely bracelet. I wonder which craftsman made it?"

"Thank you very much. This is...... Um, it was given to me by Celeste-sama due to circumstances."

"From Celeste-sama?"

Doris did not notice that Lobelia's tone had lowered just a little.

"Yes, it's lovely."

She traced her fingertips over the silver bracelet adorning Doris's right wrist, then turned on her heel with a smile.

"Um, I thought you wanted to see His Highness?"

"I don't think he's here at the moment. I'll give you another time. Good day to you."

With a swish of her dress, Lobelia left gracefully her thin shoes clacking.

(Beautiful... She was so elegant and graceful... that it made me kind of nervous.)

While Doris was admiring her beautiful backside with her hand on her chest, Lobelia was looking at her hand.

She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails clenched in her palms.
