Chapter 36: Sick

Li Feng was listening to the regular meeting of the research institute in the morning. When he came out and saw Le Yu’s empty work desk, he asked the person beside him, “Did Kyra go to the lab? Why don’t I see her?”

“Commander, Professor Kyra took a leave of absence. She said she’s not feeling well.”

Li Feng nodded. “Okay, continue working.” Wasn’t she still fine when he saw her yesterday? Why did she take leave today? Or was it because that Jin family kid came? Li Feng gritted his teeth and thought to himself, feeling a little unbalanced.

He had something to discuss with Director Wu, so he turned around and went back into the office.

As for Le Yu, who Li Feng was thinking about, she was already feeling very uncomfortable when she got up in the morning. Realizing that she had been ‘tricked’ again, Le Yu felt helpless.

Jin Cheng looked at her worriedly. “Why don’t we go to the hospital? It’ll be terrible if it gets serious.”

“No need, I’m used to it,” Le Yu replied indifferently. “My low fever will be fine after a few days, I know what I’m doing.”

Jin Cheng’s heart ached when he saw her tired and lazy appearance. “What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it!”

Le Yu looked up at him and said, “There’s nothing I want to eat. Just let me lie here by myself.”

Jin Cheng chuckled. “Alright, I won’t disturb you. It just so happens that I still have some urgent matters to deal with. It’ll probably take a day. If there’s anything you need, let me know immediately! I’ll rush over immediately, understand?”

Le Yu covered her blanket and was a little drowsy. She gave a perfunctory “hmm” a few times.

Jin Cheng looked at her pretty little face for a while before he got up and left.

After Jin Cheng closed the door and left, Li Bei came out of the room. He took a look at his mother’s pale face and took out his phone to send Le Lin a message.

He pressed the blanket for Le Yu with his small hands, then stood up and left.

At noon, Li Feng was really annoyed by ‘Li Bei’. He asked the driver to pick him up at home, and the father and son rushed back to Le Yu’s residence.

The two little fellows stayed by the bed in the living room and looked at Le Yu, who was in a deep sleep.

Le Ning knew that her mommy’s old injury was acting up again, but Li Bei did not know about this. He was so anxious that he was about to go crazy.

“Mommy… Why is she sleeping for so long? What’s wrong with her?” Li Bei asked.

Le Ning glanced at her brother and realized that he was worried. She quickly comforted him, “Don’t worry, Brother. Mommy’s old injury is acting up. She’ll be fine after resting and taking medicine.”

Li Bei looked at her suspiciously. “Really?”

Ning Ning nodded. “Yes.”

When Le Ning welcomed him into the house, Li Feng was carrying a lot of things in his hand. He was an injured person, and he was being ordered around by his son. When he was sick, he had to eat a lot of good food and sweet things.

Le Lin, who was wearing the shell of ‘Li Bei’, packed a lot of delicious food for his mommy. He had to reward ‘Aunt Kyra’.

Ting Yu took the things in his hands and was a little surprised, so she carried them over herself. One must know that Li Feng’s noble hands weren’t for this kind of work, not to mention that he was still a patient.

He sat on the sofa for a long time before he slowly recovered. Li Feng swore that he would bring his assistant with him wherever he went in the future. He couldn’t look at his son’s big round eyes and let him do whatever he wanted.

He then looked at Le Yu’s position and slowly walked over.

When this woman was asleep, she didn’t look as proud as she usually did. She seemed to have become more obedient. The side of her face that was covered with the quilt was a little red, and she looked very cute.

“How long has she been sleeping?” Li Feng asked Ting Yu, who was standing beside him, in a soft voice, “Why is she sleeping in the living room? Why didn’t she go back to her room to sleep?”

“This is Miss’s habit,” Ting Yu replied. “She doesn’t like a quiet environment when she’s sick. She always needs some sound to sleep well.”

Li Feng chuckled. “What kind of weird habit is this?”

Ting Yu smiled lightly and didn’t say anything else. Because this was related to the past when Miss was in the organization, licking blood on the tip of a knife and keeping 30% of her consciousness when she slept. In fact, she just felt insecure.

“Has she eaten?”

“She had two mouthfuls of porridge in the morning before she went to sleep.”

Li Feng looked at his watch and said, “It’s almost 1 o’ clock. Wake her up and have something to eat before going to sleep.”

“We can’t disturb Miss’ rest now,” Ting Yu said. “She’ll be very angry. We’d better wait for her to wake up naturally!”
