Chapter 4: An Apology

Hence, Li Feng looked at Gu Yue impatiently. His face darkened and he said in a cold voice, “Apologize!”

Li Feng’s words came out of nowhere, so Gu Yue thought that she wanted Le Yu to apologize to her. She immediately looked at Le Yu arrogantly and said, “Did you hear that? My Brother Li wants you to apologize to me.”

However, Gu Yue didn’t feel proud for long before Li Feng’s cold voice rang out again, “Gu Yue, apologize to that little girl!”

Gu Yue looked at Li Feng in disbelief, as if she had not heard him clearly. However, she panicked when she saw Li Feng’s expression.

Le Yu was also a little surprised and looked at Li Feng curiously.

The man’s tall and straight figure was particularly eye-catching in the crowd, just as stunning as when they first met. His jawline was cold and stern, and his facial features were well-defined and handsome. However, his expressionless eyes looked cold, giving people a sense of aloofness that made him unapproachable.

Gu Yue clenched her fists tightly and apologized unwillingly, “I’m sorry!”

“What did Auntie say?” Le Lin asked unhappily. “My sister didn’t hear it.”

Gu Yue glared at Le Lin in anger, but when she met Li Feng’s stern gaze, she had no choice but to lower her head and say loudly, “I’m sorry!”

Under the guidance of her brother, Le Lin, Le Ning said sweetly, “It’s okay. My mommy said that a good child knows their mistakes and can change.”

Le Ning’s innocent words made everyone bend over in laughter. An adult was being educated by a child.

Hearing this, Gu Yue’s face turned red with anger and she wished she could find a hole to hide in.

Li Feng smiled at Le Ning, then turned to Gu Yue and said coldly, “Let’s go!”

Seeing that the other party had left, Le Yu then called for the waiter to serve the food. The children could not be starved.

Li Feng, who was at the entrance of the restaurant, suddenly turned around. His eyes were filled with unknown thoughts. He looked deeply at the family of three at the table before leaving.

At the dining table, Le Yu looked at the two children who were eating happily in front of her. When she recalled Gu Yue’s behavior just now, her eyes became sharp.

Le Yu and Gu Yue were from the same hometown. When Le Yu was picking herbs in the mountains to learn medicine with her teacher, she had met Gu Yue, who had been beaten and scolded by her father, and they had known each other since.

Gu Yue’s family valued men more than women. Le Yu’s heart ached for Gu Yue. Besides, she did not have any siblings, so she really treated Gu Yue as her own sister.

Usually, Le Yu would bring all kinds of delicious food and nice clothes for Gu Yue, who was starving. Besides studying, Le Yu would also carefully teach Gu Yue how to distinguish medicinal herbs, hoping that Gu Yue could have a skill to support herself.

However, Le Yu did not expect that Gu Yue, who she treated like her own sister, would sell her whereabouts to Li Feng, who was after her, when she was in a vulnerable state.

It was Gu Yue’s betrayal that caused Le Yu to be separated from her eldest son for five years. Until now, she still did not know where her child was.

“Mommy, that person just now is…” Le Lin asked Le Yu. However, he glanced at his sister and didn’t finish his sentence.

Le Yu knew what her son wanted to say, so she nodded and said, “In the future, when you’re in the capital, don’t run around. Remember to wear a mask.”

Le Lin nodded obediently, then took a bite of the sweet and sour lychee. He was right. The man just now was his daddy, Li Feng. He was also the one who tried to kill his mommy.

However, Le Lin had never understood. His mommy was young and beautiful. The people who pursued her had to line up to confess to her. So, why did his daddy set up such a big formation to kill Mommy?

Could it be the story of Romeo and Juliet, the romantic and beautiful love under the shackles of the family, so Mommy and Daddy were born enemies?

It was also possible that a mistress had intervened. Right, that ugly, rustic-looking woman must have used some demonic art to confuse Daddy.

After dinner, Le Yu brought the two little children to their residence in the capital.

The security and privacy of this community were excellent, which was why Le Yu had chosen this community. Even though Li Feng thought she was dead after the explosion five years ago, with his strength, she would be suspected if she revealed even the slightest clue. She would be hunted down again.

In particular, Le Lin’s face looked very much like Li Feng’s. It would easily arouse Li Feng’s suspicion, so it was better to be safe.
