Chapter 44 – Florida Man Teaches Elderly Man Nutting Techniques

After the speech, Zhong brought his people back on the ship. Wu Buyi handed him the personal token of Ouyang Long and bid him farewell.

The flying ship took off. It was unknown if Zhong would bring them back to Cauliflower City or somewhere else. It was up to them to decide their fate.

After the people had left, Leo rechecked his gain.

All grain pills were sold out. After there was no pill left, everybody purchased three or four essence stones instead. Leo sat in front of his store and wrote a few numbers, calculating the sales.

750 low-graded grain pills, 150 lesser grain pills, and 650 essence stones sold.

7,500 + 750 + 32,500 = 40,750

Wu Buyi took a 10% share. He got a whopping 4,075 years as commission!

However, Leo was 36,675 richer. Combined with what he had, he got 41,663 to spend!

He was rich!

Both Wu Buyi and Leo laughed in unison. The former's laughter was the loudest as he never imagined that he would get this much after one trip. However, his laughter was not long.

While wearing rubber gloves, Leo poked Wu Buyi from behind. The former brightly smiled and opened his palm.

"The payment for the elixir pills?"

"…"

Wu Buyi's smiling face was frozen. A second later, he sweated profusely. Wu Buyi took a step back and presented Leo with a spatial ring.

"I-I have sold the elixir for spirit stones, senior. Everything I have is in my ring. You can check it."

Leo deeply frowned as he still remembered how items could burst out of these rings. He clicked his tongue, not wanting to explode another ring. 

Noticing Leo's dark expression, Wu Buyi trembled in fear. He kowtowed, "PLEASE FORGIVE ME! I TRIED MY BEST TO GET THE BEST VALUE OUT OF THE PILLS, SIR!"

Leo rolled his eyes and calculated what he should do with Wu Buyi. He wasn't angry at him, but he didn't know how to use the ring. Leo was also concerned if he should ask Wu Buyi directly. 

After a brief thought, Leo decided to reveal more secrets to the alchemist.

"Listen, Wu Buyi. I don't know how to use the rings. Can you teach me?"

Wu Buyi's ears perked up. He raised his head and cheerfully smiled, "Of course, I can teach you anything… eh?"

Finally, Wu Buyi realized something wrong – It was common knowledge that cultivators could use spatial rings to carry items in the ring's pocket space. Every foundation establishment cultivator had at least one ring with them, and these rings could be purchased in any big city or big sect. Even young adults knew how to use one.

However, Leo, who looked like an ancient figure, had no idea how to use a spatial ring?

Wasn't he an immortal?

Ouyang Long's words when they were on the airship haunted him.

Leo snorted, "What if I say I can."

Again, Leo scoffed and wiggled his finger, asking Wu Buyi to follow after him. The latter nodded and followed Leo into the woods.

After walking 200 meters, they left the contaminated soil and found regular pine trees and grasses. Although there were traces of Cat's rampage in the area, most of the plants were green.

Leo pointed at the grass and plants, "Are they immortal grasses?"

"No. Of course not, senior. Those are plain grasses."

"Good."

Leo took off his gloves and uprooted a stalk of grass. The grass blades instantly turned black. He then showed it to Wu Buyi.

"Is this immortal grass?"

Wu Buyi gasped for a moment. Then, he bit his lower lip and prostrate to the ground.

"PLEASE FORGIVE ME! I DIDN'T MEAN TO OFFEND YOU!"

"Meh, forget it. Now that you know, keep your mouth shut."

"YES, SENIOR!"

Leo placed his hand on a pine tree, mutating it into an iron pine tree. As usual, he hugged and uprooted it. He put the entire log on the ground and began harvesting iron nuts and leaves. He also tossed a handful of mutated pine nuts toward Wu Buyi.

"Do you know what they are?"

"Umm, pine nuts, senior?"

"Wrong. They are iron pine nuts. You can make iron grain pills with them. One iron pine nut, one starch, one metal catalyst, and Fire Qi is all you need. But if you use multiple essences like me, you will get element grain pills."

"Y-Yes, senior!"

Wu Buyi never heard of this recipe before even though he was an expert alchemist for decades. He took notes and kept the nuts in his spatial rings.

However, Leo didn't stop there. He pointed at the fallen tree and ordered Wu buyi.

"The leaves of the tree can be used as metal element catalysts. There are also plenty of nuts here. Go and collect everything."

"YES, SENIOR!"

Wu Buyi quickly collected nuts and leaves. With a spatial ring, Wu Buyi finished harvesting within two minutes. Meanwhile, Leo observed Wu Buyi how the latter used the ring as storage, learning from watching.

"Y-Yes, senior."

Wu Buyi stopped hesitating or questioning Leo. He taught the Florida Man like how he taught his disciples.

"These rings are called "Spatial Rings". The Situ Clan and the Fang Clan are in charge of mass-producing them. There are two types of rings – locked rings and ownerless rings, but we'll talk about them later. Every cultivator can simply insert a strand of Qi into the ring and fetch the items you seek from the pocket space, granted that they are ownerless rings. Also…"

Wu Buyi explained the nature of locked rings and ownerless ones. He also taught Leo how to deposit items into the rings.

By the time they returned to the store, Wu Buyi finished his lecture. However, Leo looked dissatisfied.

Leo had no idea what Qi or essence was. So far, he had been using his saliva as "Essence" instead of using inner energy or superpower. He wanted to ask Wu Buyi to teach him how to use Qi, but his face wasn't thick enough to do so.

For the moment, Leo got what he wanted. As for the ring issues, he would eventually solve them. He kept the ring that Wu Buyi had given him. Then, he entered the store and fetched a new bottle of Rejuvenate Tea and threw it toward Wu Buyi.

The alchemist received it and noticed the tea's quality. He widely grinned, "Thank you, master!"

Leo scoffed, "Next time, buy it with your own lifespan. If you don't have anything else to do, go home. I'm going to work on my store."

"Yes, master!"

Wu Buyi deeply bowed and flew back to Magpie City, heading back to Life Sword Sect.

Meanwhile, Leo didn't notice how Wu Buyi had been addressing him. It changed from "Fellow Daoist" to "Senior", and then "Senior" to "Master". His mind was occupied with countless plans and the shopping system.

After Wu Buyi was gone, Leo rushed and began upgrading his store, aiming to raise the alchemy workshop's quality to the max.
