Gacha Sovereign

Chapter 8: Alex's Status

After fighting the wolves, he sat down on the ground and asked. "System, how many tickets do I have now?"

[13 Tickets, Host.]

"Use four tickets at techniques, two at tools, and the rest to the materials."

[Basic Cooking Manual x1]

[Basic Archery x2]

[Fencing x1]

[Spoon x1]

[Bow x1]

[Iron Ore x1]

[Water Bottle x4]

[Grass x1]

[Mithril x1]

Alex became speechless when he saw the biggest number before snapping angrily. "Water… Water… Water bottles again! System, do you hate me or something? And what is the deal with the grass? I can have x99 if I want it!"

[Calm down, Host. Gacha is designed to randomly assign it, and even if you are angry at me, I can't do anything about it.]

He took a deep breath and sighed. "Fine. How about the bow? Are there any arrows in Tools Gacha?"

[No. You can get the materials in the Gacha and make it yourself.]

"**($&%&!" Just as he was about to calm down, the system once again made him angry for another few hours.

He was curious about his progress, so he opened his status along with his Inventory.

"Ugh. There is too much to scan and read at once. I need to sort it out and only check through my Inventory from time to time." Alex sighed.

[If you want, I can check it for you, Host. For example, you can ask me if you have a certain item, and I will give the notification for you.]

Alex lifted his eyebrows in astonishment. "This is a rare occasion for you being useful like this…"

[You are also useless, Host. But there is a time where you are useful. We are more or less the same.]

"…" Alex could only shake his head and stop before he became angry again. He then continued killing the monsters in the Inner Forest Area for another one and a half months.

When he reached rank 1, he was confused that he didn't get any boost of status according to the king's word, so he asked his system about it.

[According to the system's speculation, when you advance a rank, it will purify the impurity in your energy, resulting in a boost in your status. However, your body never takes any energy from monsters, so you have no impurity in your body. This might be the most reasonable reason I could give to you. I mean, this is good news since you can reach a higher ranking in the long run, even higher than them.]

Alex closed his eyes for a second, contemplating the explanation. "System, What if I take the energy first, and you can expel the remaining impurity after I upgrade my rank?"

[If Host lets the impure energy in your body for too long, it will merge with your flesh and energy. It will be impossible to separate them by the time it happens.]

He sighed. "I know. I shouldn't have put any hope in you."

[I shouldn't have put my trust in you either. To think that at least you'll learn that each technique has its own advantage and disadvantage.]

"Fine! Let's leave this forest first. I'm bored watching the trees here after two months." Alex began walking again for another few hours.

As soon as he reached the exit, he raised his guard. He noticed that there was a fight ahead, he hid behind a tree and peeked at the main road to observe further.

He saw some knights with their silver armors currently facing many Orcs. There were even an Orc Leader and an Orc Shaman in the midst of the battle. He looked at the luxurious carriage that the knights were protecting and thought, 'If I help them, maybe I can get a free ride to the next town. They won't be that ungrateful, right?'

He hesitated at first because he was afraid that they would be the same as Sandra. But then he gritted his teeth and ran toward them, flanking the orcs from behind.

"!!!" The orcs realized his presence, but before they could even react, Alex already arrived and started slashing them one by one, making his way toward the carriage. He looked at the knight that had an outstanding performance and said, "I will help you."

"Thank you, Young Man. I still need to watch out for the Orc Leader since we have the same rank. However, the Shaman will have more freedom and start killing my subordinates."

Judging from the voice, the knight was a middle-aged man. He was a rank 3 fighter. Although Alex couldn't see his hidden face, he suspected that this person seemed to be the leader of this group.

"I am close to rank 2, so I think I can distract the Shaman while you are fighting the Orc Leader," Alex replied while looking at the green monster holding a staff.

"That will help me so much. I will finish the battle as soon as possible and help you." The captain nodded, but before he could do anything, someone slammed the door behind them as a girl came out.

The girl appeared to be a 15-16 years old female. She had long purple hair and sparkling purple eyes. Although her curve was still immodest, the shape looked perfect. She looked at the captain and Alex. "Let me help too."

"Please hide inside the carriage, Princess. This is dangerous." The captain instantly rejected her.

The girl turned out to be Acacia Kingdom's third princess, specifically, the current king's niece, Alicia Van Rizertia. Her father couldn't become a king because he didn't have any male heir, resulting in his brother to sit on the throne. Yet, looking at her expression, everyone could see that she wasn't someone who would aim for the throne like her father, who thought that managing the kingdom was tiring.

"No. Please let me help. Even though I am nothing like both of you, I'm still a rank 1 magician. I can at least support us from here." She shook her head.

There was no way to convince her when she had this strong determination. He sighed. "Alright. But you can only support us from this place. Besides, you should help this boy. Even though he is close to rank 2, he is still not a rank 2 yet. His opponent is a rank 2 Orc Shaman, so it will be too dangerous for him."

Having acquired her objective, she nodded happily. "Alright."

Alex stared at the princess for a few seconds before turning around while raising his battle stance.
