CHAPTER 10

Mr. Su Hand is Really Wonderful

Ji Mian was telling the truth and didn’t mean anything else, but he soon realized that the youth in front of him seemed to have misunderstood something.

Chu Shiye looked at him depressedly and did not say a word.

Ji Mian: “What’s wrong?”

His palm waved in front of Chu Shiye, who looked away from his head.

“Let’s eat.”

After saying this, Chu Shiye sat down at the table, with an expressionless face picked up the bowl and put a mouthful of rice into his mouth.

Ji Mian: Huh, it seems like he’s not happy.

Although his intention from that sentence was to cheer up this Alpha, it didn’t seem to work.

Ji Mian watched Chu Shiye for a while, then lifted his chopsticks and put a piece of meat into the bowl.

Chu Shiye’s chopstick tips stopped when Ji Mian asked: “Do you really like spicy food?”

Over the past few days, Chu Shiye had rarely touched sweet and sour dishes, but had eaten a lot of dishes that looked very spicy.

Chu Shiye: “Hmm.”

Ji Mian nodded his head: “Remember.”

Chu Shiye said nothing and stuffed a mouthful of rice into his mouth.

Su Lan had a sweet tooth.

Su Lan said on his lips that he does not like sweets.

He also remembered.

In the afternoon, at Ji Mian’s request, Chu Shiye was ready to take him out and find him a job.

The door of the house was pushed open, and Chu Shiye said: “Is it important?”

Behind him, Ji Mian said: “You’ve asked me three times in five minutes.”

Chu Shiye stared at him without saying anything.

“No problem.” Ji Mian laughed. “I know my body well, I won’t try to be bold.”

Chu Shiye nodded and said nothing further.

The two of them walked out the door, a gust of wind blew into their faces, Chu Shiye immediately turned around and returned home.

Ji Mian turned his head, and Chu Shiye quickly took a cloak from inside the house and draped it over his shoulders.

Ji Mian: “I am not cold.”

Chu Shiye: “The wind is strong.”

By the way, hang up the first button for Ji Mian.

The cloak was a bit loose, but enough to withstand the wind. The soft material wrapped around his cold fingertips, providing warmth.

He walked next to Chu Shiye and winked and said: “I really regret having to stay in your house and wear your clothes.”

Chu Shiye: “It’s okay.”

Ji Mian: “Let’s switch places tonight, it’s okay for me to sleep on the floor.”

Chu Shiye: “No way.”

Ji Mian: “You are the host and I am the guest, no matter what—”

The words were cut off by Chu Shiye before he could finish.

“I like to sleep on the floor, I don’t like to sleep on the bed.”

Ji Mian gave him a puzzled look.

Really?

“Really,” Chu Shiye’s face showed no emotion. “The bed is too soft, sleeping for a long time will not grow tall, not good for the body.”

Ji Mian: “…Oh.”

He compared their heights and said: “Then you can drink more milk and grow taller.”

Chu Shiye: “I’ve never drunk it.”

He said this bluntly, and there was no change in his expression.

When he was a child, he and his foster father were crammed into that simple house, his foster father’s salary was meager, and with two people to support, a glass of milk that cost a few coins was a luxury out of his reach.

After all, he wouldn’t expect something that wasn’t him, whether in his impoverished childhood or now as an independent adult.

He knew that Chu Shiye’s words were not a pity party, not were they meant to ask for sympathy, he was simply stating a fact.

Chu Shiye had his own work to do late at night, he would sit at the workbench for a long time with a pair of long, calloused hands, skillfully assembling piece by piece, patiently polishing it until it took shape.

During the day, he would pick up the finished products at night and sell them, but Ji Mian knew that was not his main source of income.

In the days when he first came here, Chu Shiye was always very busy. When he came back, Ji Mian could smell the sand on his body and the smell of blood that had not disappeared.

The newly returned Chu Shiye never let go of the short knife on his body, the cold light in the sheath, and did not show its sharpness.

It was a knife that had seen blood.

The feeling Chu Shiye gave him was just like a knife hidden in its sheath without blood, it might be dull on the surface and lack luster, but it was still a sharp and unbreakable knife.

Ji Mian said: “Can you teach me how to fight like that later? I think your fighting style is very impressive.”

Chu Shiye: “Not now, at least not until you are fully recovered.”

Ji Mian lowered his head and looked down at himself.

Chu Shiye said word for word: “Not now.”

Ji Mian smiled slightly: “Okay, when you feel like you can do it, then teach me.”

Chu Shiye: “Good.”

Exiting the hut, crossing an uninhabited wilderness section, twenty minutes later, the road became a flat road.

Chu Shiye: “Is this going to be uncomfortable?”

Ji Mian: “Yes.”

Chu Shiye: “Remember to talk to me if you don’t feel well.”

Ji Mian nodded.

Shortly after walking further along the road, a simple town appeared in front of the two of them.

The dull city walls had been weathered for a long time, and within the city was a marketplace built by shabby houses. The voices of the people were noisy and bustling with the afternoon sun spreading out in all directions.

Ji Mian’s gaze fell on this small city.

The Star Capital, a magnificent yet cold mechanized city. This was a completely different face from the Star Capital, and a clarity and reality he could rarely see there.

Chu Shiye: “This way.”

He led Ji Mian around the bustling market and arrived at a small shop.

The shop door was open, there were no lights, inside was like a small shady shed, and a yellow hair was lying under the shed taking a nap.

Chu Shiye walked over and lightly tapped the edge of the chair lazily, the yellow hair yawned and slowly took off his blindfold.

Kane: “Yo, out about shopping— ah.”

The last half of the sentence changed under Chu Shiye’s gaze, Kane began to sit up.

“What can I do? The first thing to say is that I didn’t do the job of watching people the other day.”

Chu Shiye: “There’s still something else.” He dragged a stool and placed it beside Ji Mian as he said: “Wait, I’ll be right back.”

Ji Mian: “Alright.”

He saw Chu Shiye and Kane walk into the house, and the shop door was gently closed.

Inside the dimly lit shop, Chu Shiye said: “Is there any short-term work with suitable pay?”

“For him? There is.” Kane said: “John’s bar recently recruited bartenders, for the young and beautiful.”

Chu Shiye interjected. “That won’t work.”

“Oh, although the job pays quite well, but John is really not a good person.” Kane said: “So, how about selling the old horse family, only need to work one hundred and twenty hours a week.”

“No.”

“The porters employed by Tom, give you five hours off a day? The stevedores at Jerry’s, including room and board, have one day off a year.”

He occasionally said a few jobs, all of which were rejected by Chu Shiye.

“Man, there’s no other choice but the last one.” Kane said: “A teacher at Star High School is not feeling well and needs a temporary teacher to replace him for three months.”

Chu Shiye: “Why didn’t you say that at the beginning?”

“Hey, old man, it’s not an easy job.” Kane said: “Do you know why the teacher got sick? The youngest son of the Ye family is in his class, and it’s only been a month since he was hospitalized three times.”

“At first he wanted to resign directly, but there were only a few serious teachers in their school. The principal persuaded him to go home to recuperate for some time, and then return to work within three months.”

“However, because of this incident, no one dares to apply for the job at the moment.” Kane said: “So, you think that Mr. Su can?”

Chu Shiye thought for a moment, and replied: “I think he can indeed.”

Kane: “So, a resume is needed, as well as post-secondary education— I guess he has no status?”

Chu Shiye looked at him. “Just tell me.”

Kane smiled: “I’ll help him get an identity card, but next time, you have to help me collect fifty percent more stuff.”

Chu Shiye: “Yes.”

He paused for a moment and said: “What about the cuffs?”

Kane rubbed his fingers together: “He does come from a rich family, the cufflinks I’ve seen, tsk, tsk, are at least this big.”

Chu Shiye: “Anyone buy them?”

Kane shook his head: “Very good stuff, in a place like ours, there’s no market that can sell that.”

Chu Shiye: “Then, send it to you first, don’t sell it for now.”

“Three months later, I’ll take it back.”

Kane: “That’s fine, the merchant ships will also be here, you can’t sell it to them, they are a bunch of black-hearted people who suppress prices and turn good goods into scrap metal.”

“However, you can hitch a ride on their ships to sell them outside. After all, those cufflinks should be able to last for several ship trips.”

Chu Shiye: “It wasn’t me who got on the ship, it was him.”

Kane: “Hmm?”

Chu Shiye: “When the time comes, I will return it to him.”

Kane: “Hmm?”

Kane’s eyes immediately widened. “A high status like him, naturally wouldn’t care about such a small thing. The eyes can see that he will give you to the fat mouth, you don’t want to?”

Chu Shiye: “No, it’s not mine.”

After finishing, he turned around and left the place.

The shop door was pushed open, the bench in front of the door but empty, Chu Shiye’s gaze slowed down slightly, halting his steps.

His figure froze for a few seconds until, once again, his vision caught a familiar figure.

Ji Mian was squatting in front of a flower stall a few steps away from the shop door. The flower stall was, in fact, a rag on the ground, plastic bottles filled with soil, and small white flowers coming out of the ground that were blowing in the wind.

“It’s beautiful.” Ji Mian held his jaw. “I’ve seen similar flowers that weren’t as beautiful.”

It was a delicate variety bred by Star Capital, with flawless white pistils, sparkling brightly during the day, called Diamond Glow, a single plant worth hundreds of thousands.

There had been a flower like that in the corner of the garden in his childhood.

Chu Shiye raised his hand in front of his forehead and said: “It’s very sunny here, don’t take too long.”

Ji Mian got up. “Okay.”

He followed Chu Shiye back to Kane’s shop, and Chu Shiye brought him a glass of water.

“Wait a little longer, I still have something to do.”

Ji Mian nodded his head.

Chu Shiye returned to the store and happened to bump into Kane who had just come out.

Kane closed the door behind him, sat in front of Ji Mian and whistled. “After you came, the child was more talkative than before.”

Ji Mian: “Is he talkative now?”

Chu Shiye usually doesn’t take the initiative to speak. He is silent and reserved most of the time with him, and his emotions are never exposed.

Obviously very young, a year younger than him, but like a stone that doesn’t melt in the sand, there was no emotion.

Kane: “Yes, before he was always saying ‘oh’ and ‘um’, now it’s good, he can say a full sentence.”

“Mr. Su is really amazing and has a cure for that mute.”

Ji Mian was speechless.

The shop door was still closed, and Chu Shiye didn’t know what they were doing outside.

Ji Mian said: “It seems like you and him have known each other for a long time.”

Kane: “Not bad.”

“In that case,” Ji Mian paused for a moment. “May I ask, where are his parents?”

Kane spread his hands and replied: “Which parents? He’s never met them, and neither have I. All I know is that he was left here as a child. All I know is that he was abandoned here as a child.”

“This planet is so small, it’s not hard to figure out who abandoned him, it’s just that so much time has passed and there are no clues at all.”

Kane said: “Perhaps, his parents are not from this planet. It was cruel to leave him here, probably didn’t want him to live.”

The expected answer, Ji Mian was not surprised, he remained thoughtful.

This is probably near the border of the Federation, inward is the sixth and fifth star systems, and outward, is the Atlan Empire, which opposes the Federation.

If Chu Shiye had really been abandoned, then the people who abandoned him might also come from these places.

“This man, hello.”

Something suddenly interrupted his thoughts, Ji Mian raised his eyes.

A curly-haired young man came over with a thick stack of brochures in his hand and a smile on his face.

“This gentleman, can I have a moment of your time?”

“I would like to introduce you to our Father and Savior in Heaven.”
