I, Who Got Transported to Another World with the Strongest Cheat, Quit the Knight and Went on a Jour

The town where the adventurers’ guild was located. This town was located in the outskirts of the Principality of Arakia. When I was heading there, I saw the town was in a state of total panic like I had never seen before.

The archers were climbing the unreliable wall surrounding the town, pointing their equally unreliable bow at us and the magicians were pointing their staff, which had the effect of making it easier for them to connect their magic with the world’s magic, at us. 

Outside of the wall, there stood people that appeared to be soldiers and numerous people that appeared to be adventurers. 

“Hmmm….?”

I tilted my head to the side. 

What’s up with the big rush? Well, I mean, it’s understandable why they’re in panic but… Why are they so fully motivated like this? Why do they look so ready to go to war?

Our fight was pretty grandiose so I’m sure everyone had seen it, right? Everyone should’ve seen the ancient dragon knocked to the ground with my ice magic. I even purposely used ice magic since I had shown it to them beforehand at the adventurers’ guild. So why…? When I’ve already made such an obvious and clear performance?

My mind was filled with anxiety as I thought about it. 

Why?

“There we go.”

I dumped the huge corpse of the ancient dragon and the fake ancient dragon a little farther from the town.

The drop caused quite a loud sound and a pretty big dust cloud. 

“Heave-ho.”

I landed in front of the town’s gate and dropped Alaine down. 

“With this, I declare we’ve taken the ancient dragon down.”

I informed the man who was standing at the very front and bowed once. This man looked familiar. Since I could somehow recognize him, he must be a nobleman. Maybe he was the feudal lord of this town?

“Awa… Awa….”

Awa…. Awa….???

I tilted my head to the side at the words that were coming from a man that I assumed was the feudal lord of this town. 

Who would even actually say ‘awa awa’ like this….?

“Co-Could it be….? Re-Really? The two of you just what is…..?”

The man who I assumed was the feudal lord muttered, he looked like he was in utter disbelief. 

“Ah, my apologies for being late at introducing myself. As of now, we’re not members of the knight anymore but we used to belong to the knight before. I’m the former vice captain of the knight. My name is Zero.”

“Alaine. Former Knight Captain.”

“We’re here to vindicate the honor caused by the previous generation of the knight. We want to have a do over regarding the previous loss the knight had suffered before. I hope we’ve successfully vindicated the honor of the previous generation?”

Although that wasn’t entirely true, I still said that anyway. We were actually here because of the previous request to safely escort a merchant to this town. I had completely forgotten about the ancient dragon until recently. 

“O-Ohh… Thank you…. Thank you so much….”

The man who seemed to be the feudal lord became even more emotional upon hearing my blantan lie. He fell on his knees with tears running down his cheeks. 

“UWOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

And then, a loud cheer erupted from the people surrounding us.
