Chapter 9: Five Hundred Silvers (2)

Ye Yu said, “How about ‘doggo?’”

“…”

“You don’t like it? I think the name is pretty good. The name has quite a ring.”

“Wu — !”

“Whoa, you don’t want it that badly? Then let me think…Oh, I have one. How about ‘yellow one?’”

“Wu, wu, wu!”

“You don’t like this one either? You can’t appreciate my taste…”

One puppy and one person ended up ‘discussing’ about the puppy’s name the entire way to the devil city and then they rested once they were inside.

Ye Yu didn’t rush to An Xiang Teahouse, but instead brought the little black puppy to Spiritual Beast Pavilion.

The Spiritual Beast Pavilion was all over the immortal/devil mainland and the one in the devil city was just one of the many branches. The business includes buying and selling spiritual beasts as well as many other services. Naturally, treating spiritual beasts’ injuries weren’t anything difficult.

Once Ye Yu explained her intention, she was brought to an isolated room and the old man sitting behind the desk raised his head to glance at the little black puppy.

Ye Yu had felt the old man’s gaze and following the gaze, she felt a strange aura around herself.

Ye Yu’s eyes slightly flickered.

…could this be a cultivator? Even if he is, how come she could feel the strange aura too?

Ye Yu’s mind was all over the place and hadn’t noticed how strangely quiet the little black puppy in her arms was.

In a flash, the old man placed his gaze away and said, “Lady, please sit…”

Before he could finish, he noticed that Ye Yu had sat down already.

Welcoming the old man’s shocked gaze, Ye Yu stopped for a few seconds.

After a moment or two, when the other part hadn’t snapped out of his trance, Ye Yu considerately asked, “How about I stand up again?”

“…”

The old man felt awkward, but he quickly concealed his expression and changed the topic to the little black puppy. “Although it has a heavy injury, it naturally can recover by itself. However, it might take a longer time to do so. Plus, I see that the little black puppy has no spiritual qi, so it probably isn’t a spiritual beast. Lady, do you really want the Spiritual Beast Pavilion to help treat the puppy?”

Ye Yu said genuinely, “Why else do you think I’m here?”

The old man clenched his teeth and smiled, saying, “…it comes at an expensive price for the Spiritual Beast Pavilion to save someone or something.”

“Have you heard of An Xiang Teahouse’s Immortal Ye?”

Ye Yu said this all of a sudden and after the old man was stunned temporarily, he also reacted quickly. He observed Ye Yu and then his expression slightly changed, asking, “Could Lady be…”

Ye Yu nodded calmly.

The old man had long heard of Immortal Ye and when he recalled how he questioned whether she would have another money to treat the little black puppy’s injury, he couldn’t help but feel guilty, apologizing, “This old man, I…”

Before he could finish his words, Ye Yu answered, “Since you’ve heard of my reputation, can you give me a discount?”

The old man was speechless.

When Ye Yu saw how stiffened the old man was, she continued to say in a genuine tone, “Next time you come to my place, I can also give you a discount.”

“…”

Half an hour later, Ye Yu carried the recovered little black puppy out from the Spiritual Beast Pavilion and ended up sighing with feeling.

“Just a group of old stubborn people. They don’t even understand mutual benefits, so how did they make their business well-known?”

The little black puppy didn’t react, but after a few seconds, it stood up and whimpered at her.

“What are you trying to say? I can’t understand you.”

The little black dog didn’t give up and started to gesture.

Ye Yu was a bit confused and she asked, “You don’t like how expensive it was?”

“…” The little black dog seemed unresigned to this, but he slowly placed his head down.

“It indeed isn’t cheap and you’re not even worth the money even if I sell you.” Ye Yu said.

The little black puppy angrily glared at her.
