After a continuous task is issued, a new one will be given after Su Jiaojiao had completed the previous one once. However, this task is a little tricky.

Su Jiaojiao had struggled internally for quite a bit. As Song Qinghan thought there was something wrong with her, he thought she was sick. However, his questions were all evaded by her.

Thankfully, this task has no time limit, so there was no need to rush.

She could take it slow.

The mornings really had become hotter. Since there was no electricity in the village, they couldn’t buy a fridge even if they had the money. So Su Jiaojiao started making green bean soup, and bought some ice from the system secretly.

There wasn’t any well water in their house, but there was some in the Su family. If they poured the green bean soup into a glass bottle, stopped it and put it in a well, the green bean soup would turn cool after one or two hours.

Other people’s green bean soup was a normal level of cool, but as Su Jiaojiao added some ice cubes to it, the green bean soup she made was extra refreshing.

Of course, she didn’t let people know about this.

“I’ll be making green bean soup at my mother’s in the morning. You’ll be able to drink it after your nap, so don’t fish in the afternoon and rest at home,” Su Jiaojiao said.

“Ok,” Song Qinghan was very obedient. He would fish if he was allowed to, and wouldn’t fish if he wasn’t allowed to.

Although Su Jiaojiao had only interacted with Song Qinghan for not even two months, she had already gotten used to ordering him around, “Later, kill one fish and cure it*. That’ll be our dinner. I’ll take six of the remaining fish to my parents’.”

Su Jiaojiao was generous, so she planned on giving some fish to her two brothers as well.

“Ok,” Song Qinghan nodded his head again.

Su Jiaojiao nudged his leg under the table and said jokingly, “Why do you always agree with what I say? Shouldn’t you be more proactive?”

Song Qinghan had caught her leg firmly, making her unable to move. He was going to tease her when he heard this and asked, “What do you mean by ‘being more proactive’?”

Song Qinghan didn’t wait for Su Jiaojiao to speak and watched her face apologetically. The meaning behind that was self-evident.

Su Jiaojiao blushed. Her other leg kicked Song Qinghan and said unhappily, “I mean, did you think of giving fish to my parents?”

Song Qinghan felt pain due to the rather powerful kick, but when Su Jiaojiao’s tone shifted, he immediately became serious. He loosened his grip on her leg and said to her coaxingly, “I couldn’t say it before you did, Jiaojiao, please don’t be angry.”

Su Jiaojiao shook her head resignedly, “I’m not angry.”

Song Qinghan felt at ease. His free hand held her left hand, which wasn’t holding chopsticks. Seeing that it was sweaty, he felt sorry for her. “I’ll fan you later.”

After eating lunch, the two took a nap.

Song Qinghan, whose leg was almost completely healed, slept on the side of the bed facing outwards. Su Jiaojiao slept on the other side as always.

Song Qinghan was lying on his side, and in his hand was a fan. He was fanning Su Jiaojiao, making her comfortable and sleepy. She closed her eyes dreamily, mumbling, “You don’t have to continue fanning me after I’ve fallen asleep…”

Although Song Qinghan responded in the affirmative, he didn’t stop. His loving gaze was on her.

When Su Jiaojiao awoke, the person next to her had already fallen asleep, but his hand was still fanning her subconsciously. The wind blown by the fan wasn’t much; however, it was still cool. His subconscious actions that shocked Su Jiaojiao.

In the future, everything was better, but emotional ties had lessened by a large degree. Although this was not true for everyone, the people around her had less genuine emotions than those in this era.

As Su Jiaojiao gazed at Song Qinghan, her rejection towards the task gradually lessened.

Armos D. Platypus: I hope you single dogs out there love Platypus-brand dog food. Otherwise, this book wouldn’t have 9.2K monthly views.

On another note, while you’re waiting for more dog food here, I’m recommending another source of dog food for you while you wait for this sporadic and erratic source!

Big Sis Cherry’s If I have you, what more can I ask for in this life is one I think you lot will enjoy. It’s premium dog food, although the backlog is painfully short (10 chappies)…

Thing is, I’m a platypus. Continues to willingly eat cherry-flavoured premium dog food.

PS: Jemaine…I don’t get pay. I’m too young to legally work in my city (<15). But if you can actually recommend this novel, tysm!
