Su Jiaojiao was hurt.

As you could probably see, this was a big deal in the Su family.

When the three children in the family saw Su Jiaojiao’s ankle wrapped up, the bruised part even visible in some places, their eyes all reddened.

The eldest son was the most heartbroken one. He held her foot as she tearfully asked, “Aunt, are you ok?”

Song Qinghan felt a bit of shame. Ever since he’d carried her from the hospital back home, he hadn’t said much. So when he heard his nephew’s words, he looked at Su Jiaojiao’s ankle reflexively.

There was no way that wouldn’t hurt.

Song Qinghan had broken his ankle before. It would hurt like hell even with the slightest movement, but he was a man and could withstand it. However, the person in his hands was the most delicate person he knew. Last time, when Su Jiaojiao pricked her hand while sewing some clothes for him, she had complained about it a good few times. Now her foot had swelled up to this extent, she must feel even worse.

However, the main reason for Song Qinghan’s guilt was because this injury was all because of him.

(T/N: If I were a parent, I’d definitely allow this man to be my son-in-law. Just saying.)

Su Jiaojiao had obviously noticed Song Qinghan’s feelings. But they were currently at her parents’ house, so all she could do was indirectly comfort him by replying to her eldest nephew. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. The doctor had applied medicine to my ankle already.”

He instantly felt better. As the eldest child carefully took his hands off her ankle, he said, “Aunt, I’ll help you get anything you need!”

His younger brother pushed him away as he chimed in as well. “Aunt, I’ll help you!”

The youngest son was too little to speak coherently, so he babbled as he nodded along, eyes locked onto Su Jiaojiao.

Su Jiaojiao was amused by them, and she chuckled. “Thank you. Now, your aunt wants a glass of water. Could you get it for me?”

The eldest son raised his hand, “Let me do it!”

He was already five, and could do a lot of tasks.

After a bit, he returned with a glass of malted milk. Following him was a physically pained Zhang Qing. However, she didn’t say anything about the cost of the malted milk and was instead fussing over her eldest son. “Be careful. Don’t fall.”

Even though she was afraid her son would be hurt, she was more worried about the cost of the malted milk, although she hadn’t said anything. After all, malted milk was a precious item. It would be a waste if it was split.

This malted milk was gifted from a previous mission. They got a can of malted milk every month and had two cans already. However, Su Jiaojiao and Song Qinghan had some malted milk left over, so they decided to gift it to her three nephews and instructed Sun Fang to give them a glass every day.

Su Jiaojiao took the warm malted milk gratefully and said, “Thanks.”

He grinned and puffed out his chest.

After having a meal, the two of them returned to their home.

It was socially inappropriate for Song Qinghan to hold Su Jiaojiao in a princess carry in public, so he settled on a piggyback ride.

As Su Jiaojiao looked at the back of his head, she could feel the dissatisfaction rolling off him. She fidgeted a bit as she whispered to him, “What are you worried about? Could you tell me?”

As Song Qinghan turned his head to look at her, he pursed his lips into a smile. “Nothing.”

“Liar!” Su Jiaojiao pouted and pinched her ear.

Song Qinghan let her do that good-naturedly and started walking back home step by step.

When they got back home, Song Qinghan first settled Su Jiaojiao down before boiling water. He even brought a foldable chair to the bathroom, afraid she would slip and fall.

All of his actions were very considerate towards his significant other.

As Su Jiaojiao looked at his constantly moving figure, a smile tugged up a corner of her lips, but she also felt pity for him. It was unfortunate that such a caring person had horrible parents.

She sighed and started showering, but she thought of the mission the Matchmaker system issued her as she was doing so. She looked down at her foot. Aside from her bruised and swollen ankle, everything else was delicate and calluse-free. It was evident that foot didn’t see much walking.

Even the toenails were clipped, and she would wash them frequently. Su Jiaojiao thought to herself, If Song Qinghan has to kiss my ankle for the mission…it’s not that bad…

When she thought of that scene, she couldn’t help but blush.
