MEIWITA Chapter 679: Ming Xiu’s ‘Childhood Sweetheart’

Lou Mu Yan and the others followed the voice and saw a coldly elegant, lofty woman wearing a blue palace dress strolling over, followed by two women.

The person who spoke just now wasn’t this coldly elegant woman in the palace attire, but a much less attractive woman of average appearance in a lake green dress behind her.

The eyes of Lou Mu Yan and the coldly elegant woman met for an instant before moving away, and there was an inexplicable sense of dislike for each other in their hearts.

In fact, this could be regarded as a sixth sense of the strong; their auras were just mutually repellent.

However, the woman in the palace attire didn’t take Lou Mu Yan, a Sword Master at only Initial-Phase Earth Elemental Realm, to heart.

The manager of the Treasure Pavilion was also stunned when he saw the three people coming upstairs, then stood up with a smile and said: “Princess Lan1, Young Miss Zhu, Young Miss Shi.”

His tone was rather polite, but not too respectful. After all, the power behind Treasure Pavilion was huge.

“Wrap this set of jewellery for me.” The woman in the lake green dress directly ignored Lou Mu Yan and the others and said to the manager.

Lou Mu Yan played with the earrings in her hands but didn’t open her mouth. She sure wanted to see how the number one Treasure Pavilion would react.

“This…” The manager looked a little troubled, and he didn’t like the way Young Miss Zhu acted. He turned and looked at Lou Mu Yan, asking: “Young Miss, do you want to buy this set of jewellery?”

His meaning was obvious, if Lou Mu Yan wanted to buy it, he’d sell it to her. If not, he’d sell it to that Young Miss Zhu.

“I naturally want it.” Lou Mu Yan also ignored the woman’s sharp gaze and said calmly.

That Young Miss Zhu obviously didn’t expect Lou Mu Yan to dare contradict her. She looked at the manager, displeased, and asked: “How do you do things? I said I wanted this jewellery first.”

The steward wasn’t made of mud either. To be able to climb to the manager spot of the Treasure Pavilion, he naturally had his own style of handling things, and if he deliberately catered to all customers, it’d lose the face of the Treasure Pavilion instead.

“Young Miss Zhu, this Young Miss took a look at the jewellery first. Our Treasure Pavilion has always had a first-come-first-serve rule, so if she wants to buy this set of jewellery, it will naturally be sold to her according to the rules.” The manager replied indifferently.

Zhu Xiao Liu narrowed her eyes and looked directly at Lou Mu Yan, saying arrogantly and despotically: “This Young Miss wants this set of jewellery.”

She was a direct descendant of the distinguished Zhu Clan, and she had been in Central State City since she was a child, but she had never seen these people, so presumably they came from other states.

She wasn’t afraid even if the other party came from a large family from other states. She had lived wilfully on the land of the Central State, and she had never been afraid of anyone except those who couldn’t be offended. After all, her mother was the younger female cousin of the former Empress.

“So what?” Lou Mu Yan raised an eyebrow lightly, “Don’t you understand what the manager said?”

In terms of arrogance, Lou Mu Yan wasn’t afraid of anyone at all.

“You…” Zhu Xiao Liu was taken aback for a moment, evidently not expecting that the other party would dare to choke her like this. She snorted coldly, raised her chin proudly and asked: “Do you know who this Young Miss is?”

“Does it matter to me who you are?” Lou Mu Yan looked away speechlessly, took out a ring that contained more than three hundred million middle-quality spiritual stones and handed it to the manager, “These are the spiritual stones for the jewellery, you can count it.”

The manager checked it once and said with a smile: “The amount is just right, these jewelleries and accessories all belong to Young Miss.”

With a thought, the set of orchid jewellery was put away immediately by Lou Mu Yan. Miao Miao and the other spirit pets also put away the things they picked out.

If it wasn’t for Lou Mu Yan telling them not to be impulsive in their sea of consciousness, they would’ve wanted to rush up and beat that ugly woman up.

“I’m from the Zhu Clan of Central State City, where did you come from and dare to ignore this Young Miss.” Zhu Xiao Liu was angered.

She was used to being arrogant among the younger generation in Central State. Because of the former Empress and the Lan Clan, even pupils of superpower clans had to give her a bit of face.

“Pfft, you really look like a member of the ‘zhu2’ clan.” Bing Ji sneered, glanced at the other party up and down and folded his arms, saying: “You sure look quite like a pig.”

“You…” When had Zhu Xiao Liu ever been insulted like this. She was instantly annoyed, took out a whip, and swung it towards Bing Ji.

Bing Ji smiled with mockery, moved casually, and the space here distorted with his will. The opponent’s whip landed directly on a vase not far away.

[BANG!!] The vase shattered.

Seeing this, the manager’s expression darkened instantly, “Young Miss Zhu, this is the Treasure Pavilion. Even if you are a young miss of the Zhu Clan, you can’t fight here.”

No wonder everyone said that the Zhu Clan was just rotten mud that couldn’t even be used to support a wall that’s subordinates to the Lan Clan. Seeing the nature of the young miss from the direct lineage, he believed it now.

[CLAP CLAP!!] Then there was a burst of applause, and a woman in an orange dress walked in with a man and a woman by her side, “That’s a good description.”

“Feng Li You, why are you here?” Zhu Xiao Liu’s pupils constricted when she saw the person who arrived.

Feng Li You casually glanced at Zhu Xiao Liu and said: “Even you can come, why can’t I?”

Then she changed the subject and said with playful smiles: “Otherwise, how could I have seen this good show where you made a fool of yourself.”

“You…” Zhu Xiao Liu gave Feng Li You a vicious look, then looked at the coldly elegant woman in the blue palace dress, “Elder Cousin Sister, I was going to buy this set of orchid jewellery for you.”

Feng Li You was the daughter of the Feng Clan’s Patriarch, a superpower clan in Central State. Their Zhu Clan couldn’t compare to them at all, but her elder cousin sister, Princess Lan’s identity, was not inferior.

Most importantly was that the Feng Clan and the Lan Clan had long torn apart all pretences, otherwise she wouldn’t take advantage of the Lan Clan’s power so often to challenge Feng Li You.

From the beginning to the end, Lan Ruo Shui didn’t interrupt, as if this was something that had nothing to do with her.

Hearing Zhu Xiao Liu’s words, she glanced at Lou Mu Yan and said indifferently: “That kind of jewellery can’t even catch my eyes.”

Her meaning was obvious. Such things weren’t even eye-catching, so if another person wanted it, they could take it.

Lou Mu Yan’s eyes turned in thought and she restrained her expression, not saying anything. She wouldn’t be mental and go compete with the other party for a moment’s gratification in verbal dispute, and the other party didn’t say anything that targeted her either.

“True, Elder Cousin Sister, you’re Princess Lan, who had your title personally conferred to you by Emperor Ming, and also the childhood sweetheart of the Ninth Prince. You can get as many middle-quality divine tool accessories as you want.” Zhu Xiao Liu agreed with a smile.

Although the Ninth Prince was also her elder cousin brother, but she wasn’t qualified to call him elder cousin brother directly, and must respectfully address him as His Highness the Ninth Prince, or His Highness Monarch Ming when meeting him.

When Lou Mu Yan heard Zhu Xiao Liu’s words, her expression didn’t change much, but she couldn’t help but be surprised. So it turned out that this cold-tempered woman was the ‘childhood sweetheart’ elder cousin sister of Ming Xiu!

The original body of Ming Xiu had always been cultivating on Tian’ling Continent. Based on what Long Yao said, he had never been close to any woman. So how were they childhood sweethearts?

She believed in Ming Xiu, so she didn’t feel any sourness. She just found it amusing.

No wonder she felt repulsed the moment she and Princess Lan met. Their magnetic field was wrong—so she turned out to be a rotten peach blossom3 of Ming Xiu’s.

Lan Ruo Shui said to Zhu Xiao Liu coldly: “Let’s go.”

After she finished speaking, she turned around and went downstairs, ignoring Feng Li You who wasn’t giving her any good looks.

Was Ming Xiu someone that a woman like Zhu Xiao Liu was qualified to talk about? What a joke.

All face was lost today yet Zhu Xiao Liu was still looking so complacent. The Zhu Clan truly was getting worse and worse.

1there are various titles in Chinese that doesn’t have a good English translation, but it more or less means ‘princess’. Here, 郡主 is used. It doesn’t mean she’s the Emperor’s daughter.

2Here he uses the word 猪 (zhū’), meaning pig, because her clan’s name 朱 ‘zhū’ is homophones with it. 朱 is the character for vermillion/scarlet, like the word for the divine beast, ‘vermillion bird’ (朱雀).

3 FYI Feng Li You’s 凤 (fèng) means phoenix.

4peach blossom represents romance. While ‘rotten peach blossom’ refers to unwanted interest/love from others who you’re definitely not interested in. In a sense, LMY has a lot of ‘rotten peach blossoms’ hahaha. MX has many too XD

Note: Cousins here and cousin’s there, I’m not bothered translating how they’re related as cousins, because in Chinese, depending on the words used, you can kind of tell whether it’s cousin on paternal or maternal side, but it’ll be too long-winded so nah. Already is long-winded enough.

Note 2: I’ll stop here today~ I remember from next chapter onwards I basically couldn’t stop translating because I was looking forward to the events so much, so look forward to it! So many reveals will be happening~ I’ll try to do multiple updates for the next few days while I’m motivated XD
