And so, Lu Yun completed his ranks of Ox-Head, Horse-Face, Black and White Impermanence, Wang Chao, Ma Han, Zhang Long, and Zhao Hu. His eight yin soldier captains were fully gathered.

Naturally, the young man was very proud of recruiting eight nihil powerhouses, but he wasn’t fool enough to make it widely known. He used the Tome of Life and Death to alter their ripples of strength, making it seem like they were sacred supremes with the power of nihil powerhouses. Their original appearances were fully obfuscated.

Being Lu Yun’s yin soldier captains, the eight flung themselves forward as the vanguard of his ghostly troops. He named the vicious beast Infernum from this campaign as the Self Detonation Corps. This contingent couldn’t even be bothered fighting others. They just self detonated when they saw vicious beasts!

Whether it was nihil level beasts or ordinary ones, all became Lu Yun’s troops once they were blown up. It was no loss to him even if the enemy survived. The kingdom of hell was over capacity; it was nice to control the numbers via several explosions.

The current situation was something he’d never imagined possible. Who would’ve thought that the Tome of Life and Death would be so terrifying after it transformed into a sheet of gold? If circumstances were any different, Lu Yun would’ve burst from the innumerable wills of Infernum that resided in his kingdom, even if he possessed the same cultivation as he did now.

It was impossible for him to command so many ghostly soldiers.

But with the Tome of Life and Death the way it was now, he accepted all comers. He suspected that the treasure wasn’t displaying even one hundredth of its power!

“I wonder what the death arts I use will turn into…” Lu Yun sank into deep thought as he watched mushroom cloud upon mushroom cloud rise into the air within the forbidden zone. They’d performed according to how they should when he previously used them; he didn’t know what their limits were.

At the end of the day, the Tome of Life and Death wielded the strength of a world. It was the first existence to be born in the nothing. Although it didn’t fully take shape and develop to its full potential, it was a germinated seed brimming with infinite potential.

Lu Yun wasn’t soil for the seed, he’d become the seed. It’d taken root in his soul and was inseparable from him. They were one and the same for all eternity. Both prospered if one found glory and both perished if one suffered.

Its evolution process was the story of his growth. The soil that nurtured it was this endless environment, the numerous realms, and the unbounded nothing.

“That is enough, stop!” A dignified voice rang out from the sky.

Lu Yun pushed Qing Yu and the little fox behind him and looked up. He saw a man clad in bright red armor and wreathed in flames. The man had appeared at some point in time, and while Lu Yun could see him, there was only a ball of flames in his consciousness.

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "pawread dot com".

It didn’t seem to be a living being, but a ball of fire.

“Who are you supposed to be?” Lu Yun asked irreverently.

The blazing man narrowed his eyes. “As expected of the one who possesses the first of nothing. You show no respect to the fire god envoy from the Divine Temple of Nothing!”

"Fire God Ew?” Lu Yun asked with surprise. “You mean Zhurong squeezed you out of his ass? Ew.”

“You!” The envoy blinked, then realized what Lu Yun was talking about.

Zhurong was the fire god of the great wilderness. Anything resulting from the buttocks was well, disgusting.

“I’d wanted to tactfully persuade you to resolve your differences, but instead, you can die!” The self-styled fire god envoy from the temple of nothing gestured sharply at Lu Yun.

The young man abruptly felt like he was enveloped by a blazing furnace. He recognized this kind of combat art—the ultimate peak of equipment dao, the forge of earth and sky!

It was a level of accomplishment that was rooted in fact. Similar to how the Enneawyrm Coffinbearers layout was derived from the actual coffin, so was the forge of earth and sky!

The forge of earth and sky was an unparalleled treasure as opposed to a combat art. The fire god envoy didn’t have the right to use the item, so all he could do was to derive a combat art using the treasure as a blueprint.

All the same, the combat art was incredibly stunning.

Lu Yun was dragged into an abyss of fire energy before he had a chance to resist. Boundless fire energy surged from all sides and rushed into his body, setting him aflame.

Not only did the forge summon nihil flames, but it also ignited Lu Yun’s own inner fire, heart flame, soul flame, nascent spirit fire, and any fires contained within his body.

“Don’t worry, you two, I kill only Lu Yun and will not harm incidents,” the envoy smiled merrily at Qing Yu and the little fox. “But as the sinner’s dao partners, you must be punished as well. I will bring you back to the temple after Lu Yun dies so you can receive your judgment.”

The two ladies looked on expressionlessly and didn’t say anything.

“This person’s cultivation goes beyond nothing, it’s a completely different level! What should we do?” the little fox transmitted anxiously, but didn’t show it on her face.

“It’s alright, our husband found out through formula dao a long time ago that a development like this would happen. He’d been ready for it, so what is happening now must be within his expectations.”

Lu Yun, Qing Yu, and the little fox had long become dao partners. The two ladies copied Earth custom and called Lu Yun their husband.

Qing Yu was barely keeping herself under control as well. She was simply blindly confident in Lu Yun and willing to believe that he’d already accounted for current happenings.

“Formula dao?” the envoy threw his head back with laughter. “Formula dao can indeed analyze the nothing, but I am a divine envoy beyond nothing! He can make calculations for the nihil, but he cannot touch what is beyond!”

Qing Yu and the little fox looked at each other with shock. The enemy could hear their mental conversation!

The fire god envoy remained where he’d appeared, unmoving as he watched Lu Yun struggle in the flames. The young man was such an unknown factor that while the envoy was completely confident in his skills, he wanted to wait until Lu Yun was burned to death before leaving.

Qing Yu and the little fox’s hands were clammy with sweat.

……

“The forge of heaven and earth? Does he want to burn me to death?” Lu Yun considered as he sat cross-legged in the flames. “But it’s meant to forge weapons… Ah, yes, he wants the Tome of Life and Death. He wants to refine me into the Tome of Life and Death!”

The book had become one with Lu Yun a long time ago, so killing the young man would destroy it. Only when they refined Lu Yun could they obtain the Tome of Life and Death!

“So how do I escape from this?” Lu Yun sat in the middle of the forge of earth and sky, one arm around his chest and his other hand propping up his chin. His mind spun furiously through all possibilities, as did formula dao analyze all potential resolutions.

But… he came to no conclusion.

The gap between the two was too big.

The Divine Temple of Nothing was hailed as greater than the nothing, whereas Lu Yun was just a sacred supreme. They’d plainly come prepared in order to capture him and seize the Tome of Life and Death. Although he was only caught in a combat art derived from the forge, it was compelled by the power of nothing and as such, wasn’t a power that Lu Yun could withstand.

He’d anticipated that this would happen, but never imagined that something like the Divine Temple of Nothing would exist in the nihil. The fire god envoy seemed to be an errand boy, but he was also a powerhouse who’d exceeded nihil?

Why had no one ever told him about any of this?

What kind of random nonsense existed beyond nothing?

Where did the nothing come from and what was the origin of the worlds?
