Fuxi started, unable to find the words for a proper response. God… the creator of an era with a wave of his hand?

God could indeed create everything in the nothing with a wave of his hand. That was how he’d created the four god emperors and numerous life forms within the nothing.

Was that enough?

Far from enough.

God would eventually die as well.

However, Fuxi understood Lu Yun’s meaning. If one grew strong enough to affect the objective with the subjective, then one could alter the objective rules to change objective worlds that did not permit life into subjective worlds that only existed for life.

Life was an accident in the unending expanses of time and space. The objective worlds were not obligated to provide conditions suitable for life. Whether it was the nothing or existence, it was just a process of bilateral transformation.

The nothing could transform into existence and existence could transform into reality.

Life, however, was an unexpected development from these transformations. To objectivity, it was no different from sand and stone within the cracks of a mountain. Perhaps life might appear, reproduce and prosper during this period, but there would be no more life after this period was over.

What was a cataclysmic disaster for life was of no matter to objectivity.

If life wished to continue on, it had to do so through its own strength. It needed to be strong enough to affect objectivity.

Such were Lu Yun’s thoughts.

“Um…” Fuxi was startled by Lu Yun’s theories. “You’re not wanting to just be God, but rather the creator of all,” he chuckled ruefully. “We’re such tiny specks, but you already have your sights set on the objective world.”

“It’s not really setting my sights on anything,” Lu Yun shook his head. “This is just what I’m thinking with my current level of knowledge and observation. Perhaps I might think otherwise when I stand tall enough and am strong enough. Boundless, infinite, unending, unceasing. What is the truth, and who can see the end?”

The young man sighed. “All I can do now is stand at the peak of the world I know so that I may live longer. That is all.”

“Not for the good of all?” Fuxi chuckled. The world of immortals hailed Lu Yun as the Dao Saint, he whose heart and mind encompassed the worlds and fought for all life. He was often compared to the deities of old.

“If everything dies and I am the only one left, or just a few of those by my side are alive… then there is no point to living.” Lu Yun shook his head. “Humans are social creatures. Live alone? I might as well die.

“Friends, enemies, passersby. That is a complete life.” Lu Yun stood up with an explosive sigh, expelling all of his accumulated frustration.

“Have you decided where you want to go to increase your strength?” Fuxi relaxed from his prim and proper posture and propped himself up with his elbows.

“The Divine Temple of Nothing,” Lu Yun nodded. “I have an agreement with the Fire God.”

“Um…” Fuxi blinked. “An agreement with the enemy? When did you come to that? In the Forge of Heaven and Earth? I don’t think so…?”

“So you guys were indeed monitoring me,” Lu Yun curled his lip. “Some things don’t need to be said aloud. A simple gesture and a quick glance is sufficient. Take care of Qing Yu and the little fox for me. I’m off.”

He vanished as he spoke.

“Hold on a minute…” Fuxi smacked his head with a grin. “The brat left a long time ago. That was just a pre-recorded image and I fell right into it!”

Lu Yun had just unwittingly played the role of someone else’s weapon and was nearly refined by the Fire God. If he ran off to the Divine Temple of Nothing, many would think that he was going over to the enemy.

That was why he’d left this recording for Fuxi.

Lu Yun had indeed reached a bottleneck. The Tome of Life and Death had evolved to peak form and he could no longer improve his strength. He couldn’t rely on the treasure anymore and since his body was tied to the book, he was also restricted from physical progression.

The Tome of Life and Death had created shortcuts for the young man, but now it limited him. If he wished to continue advancing, he would have to hew a new path.

Formula dao!

And the Dragonquake Scripture!

It wasn’t until the Tome of Life and Death evolved into a sheet of golden paper that Lu Yun sensed the method’s formidable might. It’d been a very long time since he’d dared use it. Had he employed it when caught in the Forge of Heaven and Earth, none of the ensuing trouble would’ve taken place.

Yet the Dragonquake Scripture was so strong that if he utilized it, he would be caught up in the backlash. He might die if he didn’t handle it well. Thus, augmenting formula dao so that it could deduce the way to control the Dragonquake Scripture was his new path.

Lu Yun even thought that the Dragonquake Scripture might come from the patch of reality outside of the nothing. When he spoke of objectivity and subjectivity with Fuxi, it was with a confidence that stemmed from the method. He didn’t talk about the Dragonquake Scripture with Fuxi because the method had been a gift from the latter in the first place.

Other than Lu Yun, all of the Dragonquake Scriptures that the others had cultivated—including Fuxi, Qing Yu, and the little fox—had dispersed. Not a single trace of them was left behind, so he naturally wouldn’t raise it in front of Fuxi again.

……

The Divine Temple of Nothing sat in the middle of nothing. It was the strongest force within the nothing.

“The nothing gives me the same feeling as when I first set foot into the fourth realm…” Shimmering with a golden haze, Lu Yun looked out over the nothing.

He didn’t immediately set out for the divine temple as that would be throwing himself straight into the enemy’s net. However, formula dao also told him that the way to take it another step forward was to be found within the divine temple.

“The Nihil World Sovereigns of the nothing should be the same as the ones in the fourth realm,” Lu Yun murmured to himself with a frown. “What is meant as exceeding nothing should be the equivalent of sequence cultivators.

“But accessing sequence means accessing objective rules and laws. What are the sequences that they access in the real nothing?” he muttered.

“Right… how do I know if this nothing is the real nothing and not someone else’s creation?” He suddenly broke out in a cold sweat.

“You’re right, how do you know if this nothing is the real nothing?” a voice traveled into his ear. The tall and limber Fire God appeared by Lu Yun’s side with a half smile. “They’ve told you everything, haven’t they? What is meant by deeming us traitors and the so-called jumping out of nothing?”
