The car raced away, leaving the drunk men far behind.

Inside the car, the temperature dropped by a few notches, but it was too dark at night for passengers to see each other’s expressions.

There was a slightly visible scowl on Shi Yu’s face under the dim light. “Trying to avoid me, huh?”

“Why would I avoid you? You’re being ridiculous.” Shen Chen glanced at him.

She looked away and parted her lips. “I can walk home on my own. Mind your own business!”

He always had women flocking to him like flies, and they would do anything to please him. However, the woman in front of him now was completely beyond his control.

Shi Yu’s lips twitched into an inscrutable smile. His handsome face, with its delicate and chiseled features, looked even more charming in the dark. There was not the slightest flaw.

Shen Chen shifted a little to rest her head against the rear window that had been lowered halfway. The night wind blew through the gap, sending messy strands of her long hair across her forehead. In spite of that, her beauty was not affected; on the contrary, it heightened her allure. 

“Face me.” His voice was extremely cold.

“What if I say no?” Shen Chen did not move her head. She was testing his limits with her aloofness.

Shi Yu had lived for 26 years, yet it was the first time someone had dared to defy him.

“You can try.” His voice could not have gotten any more disdainful. It was a brazen threat.

Shen Chen chuckled. “Try what? Sorry, I don’t have such a hobby!”

A bloodthirsty smile flickered at the corner of Shi Yu’s lips. His patience had obviously been exhausted.

The driver understood his master’s intention immediately after he made eye contact with Shi Yu through the rearview mirror.

He stepped on the brakes, parked the car by the road, then quickly got out.
