Chapter 51: The Bootlicking Bridesmaids

After leaving the stylish clubhouse, Shi Yu and Shen Chen boarded a private jet, which then landed on a small island off the capital.

A rock solid-looking hotel probably built a long time ago, stood on the island.

It looked like a mysterious palace under the sunlight.

In the garden outside the hotel building, white roses bloomed. It was stunningly beautiful looking from afar.

Five hundred meters from the church, on both sides of the ground covered by white silk fabric, were colorful balloons and lilies.

A massive, one-hundred-meter banner of the photo of the bride and bridegroom posing in a sea of flowers was hung from the ninth floor of the hotel.

All the guests that arrived today were dressed to the nine, all with radiant smiles on their faces as they were having perfunctory exchanges with a glass of wine or champagne in hand.

Today’s bridegroom, Pan Yang, whose father was a businessman and a distinguished figure in the capital.

He might be a typical rich kid but did not splurge like the others. After spending ten years in the capital, he founded an export-import company. It goes without saying how important the Pan family is in the capital.

Nearly half of the guests here today were of the rich and the powerful.

The bride, Lin Xiaomiao, wore a wedding gown adorned with diamonds, a diamond necklace, and ring. Even the earrings were of limited-edition that cost five figures a pair.

Among the bridesmaids, who were wearing white gowns, Xia An’an was the most eye-catching, nearly stealing the limelight from the bride.

“This is a little too much, An’an. The stuff you wear is worth almost a hundred thousand dollars. That’s more than what we earn in a year!”

Someone among the bridesmaids started to butter her up.

“Look at how generous your boyfriend is! He allowed you to attend the wedding in such a gorgeous appearance. You are so blessed!”

Hearing the flattery remarks, Xia An’an grinned from ear to ear. But she was keeping herself from being too glaring, considering that this was a wedding.

She ran her red nail polished fingers through her curly hair. “Thank you. I think I am nowhere near our friend, Xiaomiao. But I have to admit that my boyfriend really loves me. He always put me first.”

“I’m envious of you,” someone lamented.

“What your boyfriend does for a living, An’an? How does he afford this?”

Xiao An’an proudly raised her chin. “He is just a small shareholder of Dijing Corporation.”

“What? Dijing?”

“That’s the biggest conglomerate in the capital. Their business spans across finance, food and beverage, real estate, and legal fields. They even enjoy a monopoly in the entertainment industry!”

Xia An’an smiled like a Cheshire cat. “Apparently you all have heard about Dijing!”

“I am afraid that no one hasn’t heard about it! It is virtually the king of the capital, the economy of which depends entirely on it!”

“I heard that the CEO of Dijing is the young master of the Shi family. But he rarely appeared in public for the past two years. Let alone gossip about him.”

“I guess your boyfriend must hold a high position in Dijing, An’an?”

“You and Xiaomiao are really having a good life. One is married to a rich bachelor; the other has found a blue-chip boyfriend.”

“Stop gossiping here already. I will ask him to buy you all lunch so you all can meet him, alright?”

After being flattered in front of them, Xia An’an knew it was time to stop and cleverly diverted the conversation away. “Why hasn’t Shen Chen arrived yet? I thought she was also a bridesmaid today?”
