14 – First Post! Buzz!

I succeeded in keeping many company members from realizing that I was “going to work with Mamiya-san” by going straight to the smoking room.

A beautiful woman in the morning is bad for the heart. Besides..

–I want to go to Fujishiro san’s house!

Does she know what it’s like to go to the house of a man without a girlfriend who lives alone?

Well, I’m not going to push her down when she comes over. First, I know that an in-house romance would be awkward, and of course Mamiya-san would not like it.

I inhale smoke deeply into my lungs and exhale.

I’m enjoying coming to work these days, though. I used to think that I’d get a junior associate soon and I’d become a full-time worker. To be honest, it’s fun to be around Mamiya-san, and it’s also good eye candy. Mamiya is not the type of person I don’t like to be around.

[Good morning.]

I greeted Director Mishima and took my seat.

Of course, Mamiya-san is sitting next to me with a big smile on her face after having a hearty breakfast. With a poker face, I open my computer and get to work.

[Fuh, the page bugs for the Yasubishi project and the survey data extraction are complete.]

After a double-check by Mishima san, my work was done. It was already past noon. I decided to go to a convenience store and check it out. When!

[Mamiya-san? What’s wrong? Dis you get stomach ache?]

Mamiya-san is propped up against the desk, her stomach bent, and she’s making little groaning noises. In his hand is his phone.

[Ugh! I’m not getting any likes at all.]

Mamiya-san gave me her phone as fast as a dying zombie. I looked at the screen of the phone and saw a cameragram posted with an image I had created and a text Mamiya had thought up.

30 likes, probably all from employees.

[You know, that’s just how it is at first.]

[Is that so?]

Social networking is accumulation. The probability of a single post being seen by people is very small. Of course, there are people whose first video or post gets a lot of hits, but it may be something quite extreme, or they might have bought the likes.

Mamiya-san shrugs and taps her phone a few times. And then there is my page. My very first post was three years ago. It was probably a post with a horribly bad photo and almost no hashtags.

I didn’t even tell my friends about it, so I didn’t get my first like until three hours after I posted it, and it was a mysterious account that looked like a foreign promotional account.

[I’ve worked so hard to come up with this idea, but I feel so unmotivated when I don’t get such a positive response.]

Hey, it’s my job. I would have been angry if she were a junior, but I was instead…

[Motivation is the key to posting on social networking sites. If things don’t go well, you should go out to eat more fashionable food or go to stylish places and take good pictures.]

Mamiya-san suddenly gets up and stares at me with her stomach growling. Does this mean I should invite her to lunch? Is it?

[Do you want to go to lunch?]

[Are you sure? By all means!]

Mamiya-san, had expression as if to say, “I’ve been waiting for you! and hugged a small bag and was fidgety.

I’m not going to have convenience store food again today… ah, a stylish meal that will motivate Mamiya-san.

I started preparing for lunch with my mind racing.
