Chapter 44: Beguilement

Wenhua'an's assistant was highly efficient. They immediately contacted the Wen brothers and tactfully conveyed Wenhua'an's intentions. The Wen brothers agreed, but just as they hung up the phone, they got in touch with Zhou Cheng'an.

Upon hearing Wenhua'an's intentions, Zhou Cheng'an couldn't help but smile. It seemed that Wenhua'an was truly desperate this time, probably attempting to implicate the Wen Li Fund and Zhaoyang Real Estate.

"It seems he's about to take action. Just follow the plan," Zhou Cheng'an said casually.

The Wen brothers nodded in agreement.

After hanging up with Zhou Cheng'an, Wen Yize couldn't help but sigh with relief. He regretted the turmoil within the Wen family this time, but given the current situation, he had no room to retreat. As long as they could bring down Wenhua'an, he would still have a chance to rebuild the Wen family!

Wen Yize glanced at his exhausted older brother beside him and whispered, "Should you go this time, or should I?"

Wen Yihan rubbed his nose and spoke softly, "Aze, there's a good chance that both of us will become eternal sinners of the Wen family. Aren't you afraid?"

Wen Yize stood up, looking down at his older brother, and said coldly, "I'd rather be alive than be an eternal sinner. Don't forget how our father died. Wenhua'an has committed so many sins, and they must be repaid."

Wen Yize intentionally raised his voice, whether to convince Wen Yihan or himself, he wasn't sure.

Wen Yihan covered his face with his hand, let out a long sigh, and contemplated for a while before finally saying, "I'm sorry for losing control. This time, you should go. I still have a lot of unfinished work here."

Wen Yize inexplicably felt relieved and nodded slightly before leaving Wen Yihan's office.

The Wen brothers' office was on the sixteenth floor of Wen Building, while Wenhua'an, as the CEO, had his office on the twenty-seventh floor, occupying an entire floor as the pinnacle of Wen's power.

Wen Yize took Wenhua'an's exclusive elevator directly. He was now the nominal CEO of Wen, so he naturally had this privilege.

As he stepped out of the elevator, he saw Wenhua'an's assistant waiting at the door. Upon seeing him, the assistant's face carried a slight smile as they approached and said, "Young Master Wen, Mr. Wen is expecting you. Please go right in."

Wen Yize politely nodded and walked towards Wenhua'an's office.

He knocked on the door and heard a voice from inside saying, "Come in." Wen Yize pushed the door open and saw Wenhua'an sitting behind his desk, his expression now calm and composed as usual.

Even though Wen Yize harbored deep hatred towards Wenhua'an, he couldn't help but admire the depth of this person's scheming.

"Uncle, I heard you wanted to see me?" Wen Yize smiled as he approached Wenhua'an's desk.

Wenhua'an gestured for him to sit and smiled, saying, "I heard that you want to move into the twenty-seventh floor tomorrow. Naturally, I have no objections. However, this matter cannot be accomplished overnight. We still have many unfinished tasks to hand over. Do you think it's feasible?"

Wen Yize smiled sarcastically and replied, "Uncle, I'm also a person working in the company. Although I don't understand as much as you do, I do understand some of the company's affairs. The handover procedures for you, Uncle, can be done this afternoon. I believe that with your abilities, it will be quickly completed."

Pretending not to notice the sarcasm in Wen Yize's tone, Wenhua'an remained calm and said, "Yize, you are still young. I don't blame you for being deceived and causing harm to our family’s interests. But regardless of any grievances between us, you still carry the Wen surname. Wen also has a part that belongs to you. You have witnessed how your father sacrificed for Wen. Do you really want to see the Wen family completely decline?"

Unable to find excuses to delay, Wenhua'an resorted to appealing to Wen Yize's emotions. If it were the previous Wen Yize, he might have been deceived by Wenhua'an's persuasive words. However, at this point, Wen Yize was fully aware of his tactics and remained unmoved. He simply wore a hesitant expression on his face and remained silent.

Seeing some wavering in Wen Yize's demeanor, Wenhua'an felt a glimmer of hope and continued, "I know you hate me. I can leave the Wen company before tomorrow. But I beg you, please don't leave Wen's fate in the hands of others. You are a descendant of the Wen family. Now that Wen's financial chain is broken, shareholders are unsettled, and rumors are spreading outside. You must plug this gap first, otherwise Wen will truly collapse. If the nest is overturned, there won't be any intact eggs. Neither of us will have a good outcome."

Wenhua'an's words were sincere. The Wen’s were indeed in a precarious situation now. With one wrong move, it would be toppled from its pedestal, and the entire Wen family would suffer.

Wen Yize's eyes flickered, and he pursed his lips. He said, "Uncle, rest assured, I won't let the Wen family reach that point."

Wenhua'an felt relieved. He had long known the Wen brothers' trump card. As long as Wen Li Fund and Zhaoyang Real Estate were brought into the company, based on his investments in these two places, they could undoubtedly reverse the current disadvantage.

Afterward, Wenhua'an began to hand over Wen's recent projects, major contracts, and other matters to Wen Yize. However, it wasn't truly a comprehensive handover. Wenhua'an didn't genuinely disclose everything, only discussing matters on the surface. As for the private transactions and taboos, he hardly mentioned a word. If Wen Yize were to follow this incomplete handover as instructed by Wenhua'an, the Wen\s would likely offend a large number of people in no time.

In recent years, despite appearing to be a playboy on the surface, Wen Yize had also put in a lot of effort for the family. Naturally, he saw through Wenhua'an's malicious intentions. He coldly smiled inwardly but showed no hint of it on his face. Wenhua'an really treated him as an ignorant child, which put Wenhua'an's mind at ease.

By the time the two of them finished the handover of everything related to the company, it was already the end of the afternoon. Wenhua'an looked somewhat exhausted and said in a low voice, "Alright, I have said all that needs to be said. From now on, it's up to you and your brother. You can go now, I will tidy up the office and leave. You can start working here tomorrow."

These words cut deep into Wenhua'an's heart. He never had children in his lifetime, and the Wen company was like his own flesh and blood, something he had snatched from his own older brother when he was young. For many years, it had never been beyond his control. He had grown accustomed to the feeling of holding great power. Unexpectedly, today, it was in the hands of such a young man. This was a great humiliation for him.

Wen Yize looked at Wenhua'an, a coldness flickering in his eyes. He nodded slightly and turned to leave Wenhua'an's office.

Wenhua'an sat alone in the office, staring at the familiar surroundings, feeling somewhat empty inside.

After a while, a knocking sound came from the door. Wenhua'an said, "Come in," with a voice filled with weariness.

Wenhua'an's assistant walked in cautiously and respectfully said, "Mr. Wen, are you ready to leave now? The driver is waiting downstairs."

Wenhua'an stood up with a stern face, walked to his desk, picked up his nameplate, and headed towards the office door. He said, "Pack up my things in the office and have them delivered to the mansion before tomorrow." After saying that, he left the place where he had struggled for decades.

The assistant breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Wenhua'an leave. Dealing with Wenhua'an in recent days has been truly difficult. However, looking at the room filled with belongings, the assistant's face turned bitter.

Wenhua'an left the Wen Building and got into his private car. He closed his eyes and leaned back on the seat, looking several years older than before.

The driver glanced at Wenhua'an through the rearview mirror. He had long heard about the disputes within the Wen family as a driver.

"Mr. Wen, where should we go? Should we return to the mansion?" the driver asked cautiously, fearing the backlash of the turmoil.

Wenhua'an pondered for a moment and finally spoke, "No need. Go to Wen Li's house."

Wen Li, whom Wenhua'an mentioned, was the shareholder Uncle Li, as mentioned by the assistant. He held the highest seniority among the Wen family members and was also the most difficult to deal with. Wenhua'an was most afraid that he would become an obstacle for him by relying on his age and experience.

Wenhua'an had a good relationship with Wen Li, and they often visited each other. The driver was already accustomed to this, so he agreed and proceeded accordingly.

*******

Not to mention how Wen Hua'an and Wen Li are maneuvering against each other, Zheng Jue, on the other hand, still felt uneasy. He finally received the news of Wen Hua'an's actions from Zhou Cheng'an. Originally, he should have been delighted because he could finally defeat the Wen family on his own terms and gain the majority of their resources. However, he felt somewhat troubled in his heart.

This plan had been prepared long ago. Once it succeeded, his position in the Hong Kong market and even the entire national business sector would be completely different. But now, he suddenly had some doubts.

He thought of Han Jin's face, which was always trusting towards him, and he felt like a thousand-pound stone had dropped onto his heart, leaving him devoid of any joy.

If it were just deceiving Zhou Cheng'an, he wouldn't have any psychological burden because Zhou Cheng'an hadn't been honest with him either. But Han Jin was different. Han Jin was like a blank piece of paper in front of him, and now his actions were casting a shadow over that piece of paper.

Zheng Jue felt like a drowning person, struggling desperately to swim up, but sinking further down.

He didn't know how Han Jin would think of him, but he understood that once this plan succeeded, some things could never be stopped.

Han Jin also noticed Zheng Jue's unusual emotions, and couldn't help but feel a bit strange. Finally, after another intimate moment, he gasped and held Zheng Jue tightly, pressing close to him. His breath uneven, he asked, "What's been happening to you these past few days? Why do you always seem absent-minded?"

Zheng Jue's hand, which was originally stroking Han Jin's hair, involuntarily tensed up. He pursed his slightly dry lips and asked in a low voice, "Jin, what would you do if one day I lied to you?"

Upon hearing this, Han Jin instantly released himself from Zheng Jue's embrace and sat up straight, frowning as he looked at Zheng Jue. "Lied to me? What have you done?"

Zheng Jue felt his face stiffen. He forced a smile and said, "It's nothing, just a random question."

Upon hearing this, although Han Jin's expression still held some suspicion, it wasn't as tense as before. He solemnly said, "As long as you don't leave me, I will forgive you."

In an instant, Zheng Jue felt his whole being freeze. He stared blankly at Han Jin, and in the next moment, he regained his senses and had already embraced Han Jin in his arms, kissing him passionately.
