Xiao Youning’s mind did not fully recover until she came out of the Qianqing Palace. She was supported by Ye Shen as they walked out of the palace. She said to herself, “Why was it so scary?”

Ye Shen was worried that she would be too shocked. He was amused when he heard her cute words. He reached out and gently poked the middle of her eyebrows. “Come back.”

It was like she suddenly woke up and her mind returned. She covered her brow and looked at him. “Why don’t you… poke me again?”

Ye Shen didn’t get mad. He smiled and held her hand tighter. “Ning’er, do you think it’s good or bad?”

“Good,” Xiao Youning replied without thinking at all. After she spoke, she paused again looking confused. “But it’s also bad. On mother-in-law’s side… I am afraid of a loose tongue. She is old and has to accept what others say.”

Her eyebrows were really scrunched together. Ye Shen was surprised and said, “Is that all?”

“What else is there?” she said, feeling strange but then understood. “Did you think my opinion of her would change?”

Ye Shen reached out and poked her again. “No, I know what kind of person you are, but how can you assume that about my mother? What I mean is, don’t you have something to ask me?”

Xiao Youning smiled, and a soft light flashed in her eyes. “Is it necessary to ask? You are my husband, and now you are still the prince. After Old Madam Ye finished talking, she covered her mouth with her sleeves and laughed until her shoulders shook. Old Master Ye couldn’t stand it any longer and attacked her with a deep howl.

How can this woman still be alive? She should have died! 

It was only right to use her to save the Ye Family. She is a wife of the Ye Family. She should live or die with the Ye Family.

He felt that she should have been used to save the Ye Family but not been allowed to give birth to a bastard!

Without Ye Shen, he could still treat her as before, but she gave birth to Ye Shen!
