“Be calm, be calm.”

The distance between Taejeong and Block gradually decreased to about 50 meters.

Although it was a fairly distant confrontation, it was like standing at the gates of hell for Taejeong.

Even the sight of the monster running on the ground with its muscular hind legs was enough to make him shudder.

Nevertheless, Taejeong calmly lowered his mind and held the gun firmly, watching the monster’s movements.

The first to move was Block.

With a bang, Taejeong’s gun was raised.

Unfortunately, the first shot was a miss.

Then two more shots rang out.

Bang! Bang! Krak!

Fortunately, the third bullet hit the monster’s body directly.

But it only spilled blood, and the monster’s movements did not stop at all.

The monster’s body covered Taejeong.

In an instant, his fingers grabbed the trigger as if crazy.

He had to win in two or three shots.

Bang!

A noise rang out and his gun was raised.

The third bullet hit the monster’s body directly, and the monster finally stopped moving.

The  bullet hit the monster’s head directly.

“Phew.. I thought I was done for.” Tae-jeong stared at the corpse in front of him, only a meter away, and let out a sigh of relief.

He had almost been too late.  He examined the corpse and muttered, “Is the head the weak point? I wasted too many shots on it.  How much did I spend on one of these?” He then started running again, determined to make it over the mountain.

As he ran, he kept his guard up, knowing that the mountain was more dangerous than the plains, especially if the enemy was a monster.

Sure enough, he soon saw a horde of monsters in front of him.

Dozens of tentacles wriggled from the slimy creature, the same one that had killed his uncle Kim Geun-tae.

He remembered the kind face of his uncle, who had taught him so much before he started this journey.

But he had to put his emotions aside and focus on the fight.

Unlike Blocks, Meeks were long-range monsters.

Since they were harder to fight than Blocks, Tae-jeong had to focus and suppress his emotions.

“I guess its tentacles are about three meters long.  I’m at an advantage if I just look at the range.” Thinking that this was the best option, Tae-jeong took the initiative and attacked first.

It was an unexpected move given his low stats.

But Tae-jeong thought it was the best he could do.

If he waited too long, more monsters would come out and it would be the end for him.

Bang!

The first bullet hit the head of the Meeks in the front.

It seemed to be stunned for a moment.

Then, it started to move towards Tae-jeong, its tentacles flailing.

The other two Meeks did the same.

Tae-jeong was overwhelmed by their intimidating presence and screamed.

“Aah!”

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

He took a few steps back and held the trigger with all his might.

He had no idea how many bullets he had left or what he should do next.

He was already out of his mind with fear.

He desperately shot at the Meeks, hoping to get out of the situation.

Fortunately, his desperate attack worked and the three Meeks fell one by one, spewing a thick liquid.

“Ugh. Damn it! Six shots! What the hell am I doing here…” Tae-jeong cursed and cried out of frustration.

Why was he in this situation?

Tae-jeong was terrified and every moment was filled with fear and panic.
