Strategy to Capture Men

Autumn nights were dry, and Han Yanyan couldn't sleep. Yawning, she went downstairs for a glass of water.

With the lights downstairs switched off, she made her way by groping in the dark, using her familiarity with the house. She didn't see a man sitting on the sofa in the dark living room, staring at her with hatred in his eyes.

Pregnancy gave women heat. Feeling feverish, Han Yanyan wanted something cold. She felt the refrigerator, opened the door, took out a bottle of cold water, and unscrewed it to take a sip.

Just as she closed the refrigerator door, she saw a bald man standing by the door. It was unexpectedly Sanhu!

Han Yanyan's eyes widened in shock. Her bottle of cold water fell to the ground and spilled all over the floor. Before she could run, Sanhu grabbed her hair and dragged her out.

"Bitch!" He cursed as he hauled her.

There is no one nearby, and the house was very soundproof. It was useless to cry out. Han Yanyan didn't scream, but struggled silently instead.

All of a sudden, the lights in the sitting room lit up. Han Yanyan squeezed her eyes shut for a moment. Sanhu dragged her into the living room by her hair, and when she opened her eyes she found that the man sitting on the sofa was Yao Chen.

He sat there, one ankle on his knee just as always. His right hand rested on the knee, playing with a throwing knife. The razor-keen blade twirled between his slender fingers, as if glued to his hand.

Hauled over by Sanhu, who was still holding by her hair, Han Yanyan regarded Yao Chen with her lips pressed together.

At that moment, her cell phone sitting on the coffee table rang. The name on the Caller ID was 'Jiang Ye'. The eyes of both the men in the living room grew a little colder.

Yao Chen leaned over to pick up the phone, pressed "Answer", and placed it on Han Yanyan's cheek.

"Miss Han! Are you at home right now? I just got the news that the police car transferring Yao Chen was robbed! Yao Chen escaped, he may seek you out for revenge. Stay there, I'll bring backup right away!" Jiang Ye said anxiously.

Han Yanyan looked into Yao Chen's eyes and calmly replied, "I'm at home. I'll be waiting for you."

When the call disconnected, Sanhu slapped her across the face. "Bitch!"

It was Sanhu who had robbed the police car. He had gone into exile awhile ago, unjustly framed, and when he heard the news of Yao Chen's downfall, he had quietly returned. Upon finding out that it was Han Yanyan who had brought down Yao Chen, he immediately knew who had driven a wedge between him and Yao Chen right from the start.

The blow threw Han Yanyan onto the sofa, bumping her belly, and her face twisted in pain.

A muscle twitched in Yao Chen's jaw and he caught Sanhu's wrist suddenly, preventing his next move.

"Eldest brother! Let me kill this bitch!" Sanhu snarled, gnashing his teeth.

"Go out. Let me speak to her alone." It was no use crying over spilt milk. Yao Chen was very calm.

Sanhu stormed out angrily to keep watch.

Han Yanyan rolled over.

Yao Chen went to her, stretched out his hand and wiped the blood from her mouth with his thumb. Even now, there was neither panic nor fear in her eyes.

What kind of woman was his wife? He had married her without even knowing.

Yao Chen crouched down in front of Han Yanyan, and she instinctively shrank back into the sofa, her body tense. Yao Chen regarded her for a moment before his eyes moved to fall on her round, ball-like belly.

He extended his hand to gently stroke that bulging belly and asked, "Has the baby been moving?"

Han Yanyan was silent.

His hand on her belly, he looked up and asked softly, "Tell me, whose child is this?"

Yao Chen, like Jiang Ye, belonged to this world and their minds were limited to this world. They could only imagine Han Yanyan's motives for betrayal within that enclosed box.

Even the direction of his guess was the same as Jiang Ye's, thinking that Han Yanyan must have had another man.

Yao Chen looked into her eyes and knew that that she was telling the truth.

"No," she replied.

Han Yanyan stared at him for a moment before saying, "But you will kill women, won't you?"

The expression on Yao Chen's face changed. He stood up and took two steps back.

She looked at this man and said out loud the secret buried in his heart.

"There are two unclaimed, unidentifiable bodies in the police morgue. One is male, your father, and the other is female, your mother," she said. "Your mother was not killed by your father, but by you, am I right?"

A muscle twisted in Yao Chen's jaw.

What happened that night was the turning point of his life.

"She was beaten every day, and that day, that man almost killed her." He gritted his teeth. "I killed him, but instead of being glad, she started hitting me like she was a madwoman. She said she couldn't live without him. So since that was the case, I... let her have her wish."

His whole life had been distorted ever since then, even until today.

Yao Chen had discovered her movements! His eyes widened!
