Han Yanyan did not return to the pure white space, but fell into the boundless darkness. In the dark, it was as if a huge palm was gripping her, kneading and squeezing. She felt as though she had been broken and then reorganized. If there had been light enough to see, she might have seen herself as a monster with her feet on her head and her hands growing from her butt.

But thanks to the squeezing and kneading of these shackles, the momentum of the force that had been about to erupt from her body became weaker and weaker, as if it was being forcibly suppressed.

The person who could do this wasn't "Yao Chen", but Leo.

"Holy fucking fuck!" Leo cursed, in a frantic hurry. "This woman!"

"What's going on?!" asked the person who was monitoring both the world and Leo.

Leo didn't have the time to answer. With a swipe of his hand, he drew a screen made of light that was hanging in front of him to the side for the other to see for himself. It was Leo who had disconnected the world just in time!

"Inject the inhibitors!"

"What's wrong? Values are still soaring? Another injection!"

Leo hollered at the AI at the top of his lungs, giving orders.

The other person, watching the screen, saw the crazy growth values finally begin to slow. It stopped at a certain value, then slowly dropped again before finally coming to a smooth stop.

Understanding what was going on, they exclaimed in surprise, "Is she..?! Activating her spiritual power? Didn't you say she came from a very primitive place?"

"Very primitive!" Leo growled unhappily. "Weren't you the one who wanted me to save her life? Her genes were so primitive that she had no resistance to gene therapy at all, and the therapy went too far too fast. Shit, it's a good thing I was quick enough to disconnect in time. If she had activated, your fellow1 would have pulverized her into little bitty pieces. Then she couldn't have been any more dead."

"What about my person?" asked the other.

"My bad!" Leo pulled out a light screen and took the lead in praising himself. "Look at that, just look at that!"

The line on the screen had been smooth and even, like a stopped heartbeat on an ECG. At some point, there was a little fluctuation, a tiny rise, and then it stopped there and continued on stably.

But at present that line was soaring up in a shape like the neck of a goose, in an amazing upswing!

The other's eyes lit up as well.

But above that line was another, red warning line. The chart intuitively showed this red line marked the goal to be achieved. At the moment, there was still... a ways to go.

"Keep up the good work! Keep up the good work!" They thumped Leo on the shoulder with one burly hand, making Leo grin.

Looking back at Han Yanyan's screen, they commented, "Her values are pretty dangerous right now. If they fluctuate even a little, she might wipe out2."

"No big deal, it's being monitored. I'll give her another shot of inhibitor if she dares fluctuate," replied Leo.

"Take it easy and don't hurt her too much. Don't inject if you can't," said the person. "She's amazing, you've got to treasure her!"

Leo tsked.

The other glanced at him. "Do you use your architects like consumables?"

"It can't be helped," Leo said. "They never last longer than half a year."

"Do they die?" the person asked.

"No," Leo shrugged. "They're all crazy. Every once in a while they die."

Going crazy is normal, the person thought.

They had been monitoring all day, and the thought had long since crossed their mind. If it had been them, they'd probably have long lost their mind by the third world. The heart of man was made of flesh, and in such worlds, it was impossible to have no emotional attachments at all. Whether it be family, love, or friendship, they were all the same in that their parting collapse destroyed a person's heart.

"What happens to them?" they asked.

"I send them back to wherever I got them from," Leo replied.

The person was silent for a moment before saying, "You truly are wicked."

Leo threw his hands up and complained, "Yesterday, I just about died three times. I'm telling you, you'd better double my commission!"

"I know, I won't shortchange you," they assured him. "Is she okay? Is she going to do... another world?"

"She can, but I can't. It's been ten hours, I've got to sleep!" Leo let out a huge yawn, tapping at his console.

"What are you doing?" the person frowned.

"Letting her continue working. I need to rest, but she doesn't," Leo answered. "I'm a businessman, profit must be maximized. I have other clients waiting."

Seeing the frown deepen on the face of the person beside him, he explained, "Don't worry, she'll only get better the more she exercises. This woman isn't ordinary. I feel like she might even make it six months without going crazy. Aren't you gonna go to bed?"

The other had also been watching all day, and was genuinely tired. They said to the armed guards in the room, "Split into two shifts, and keep an eye on him."

"Can't you have some trust?" Leo huffed. "I do this for a living. I have an excellent business ethic."

"It's not that I don't believe you," the other replied, "But he is too important."

Leo sniffed, "He had such a good life, yet he didn't enjoy his blessings. What did he waste his time thrashing around for?"

The other's face cooled. "For his convictions3."

"Do you have any convictions?" they asked. "Is there anything in this whole universe that's worth your life?"

"I believe in money," Leo answered. "I'll do anything if you pay me enough, but there's nothing worth my life."

"Oh, go to sleep, you. Stop trying to civilize me. It's useless." Leo leaned back in his seat. It reclined to let him lie down and closed itself into a compartment, the surface of which was as transparent as glass. Countless charts and pictures flashed across it.

The person snorted, then retired for the night.

Inside the white space, Leo's voice rang out. "Han Yanyan, Han Yanyan."

Han Yanyan opened her eyes in the pure white space.
