Chapter 1: Reincarnated as a mosquito! 

Wen Zi was feeling depressed. His body was completely covered in a transparent fluid. However, that was not the main reason why he was feeling sad. 

The main reason was that he could tell that he was no longer human.

A part of his body was now translucent, and the rest was a blackish colour. Wen Zi also noticed that the translucent part of his body seemed to be a pair of wings, much like that of a dragonfly’s, but much smaller, not even measuring up to one millimetre. 

 In fact, he was now in an egg of a mosquito, smaller than an eye of a needle. 

Just after two days of his reincarnation, Wen Zi found himself in this body.

After dying, others would become gods, buddhas, or even magicians, yet he had to draw the short straw, becoming a mosquito. 

How do I send a complaint to heaven? He thought.

With a desperate hope in his heart, Wen Zi attempted to open a virtual interface with his mind.

Despite the fact that he was reborn as a mosquito, it seemed that God still had not forgotten about him, and included the classic system for reincarnators. 

When he looked up, all he saw were a few lines of words on the bright blue interface.

Each time he looked at the ultimate goal stated (which was highlighted in red), he laughed inwardly; it was a  facial expression that a mosquito could not make. 

   Its obviously an impossible task, did God do this to me for entertainment?

   However, he was a small hope in his heart.

    If he could really evolve into a giant dragon, wouldn’t it be great to possess the ability to call upon wind and rain, turn the world upside down, and run rampantly and domineeringly, doing as he pleased?

    After hesitating for a moment, Wen Zi controlled the virtual interface anxiously and turned to the next page.

There was only one line to be seen on the interface: 

   [Hint: Please upgrade to level 1 as soon as possible to get a talent skill. 】

  Damn, I want an upgrade as soon as possible!

     But I’m just an egg now, could you tell me how to upgrade as an egg as soon as possible?

    Could it be possible to let other mosquitoes sit on top of me to incubate their eggs?

   Zi long tried to open his mouth to yawn, yet realized that he no longer had a mouth once again, so he just yawned in his mind. 

  With no other choice, he decided to close his eyes in an attempt to fall asleep. 

    Although he could not see anything while he closed his eyes, he could still feel the comforting warmth of the sun. 

   The warmth of the sun made him sleep comfortably, as it was the perfect temperature for one to sleep. 

In the past, when he was attending university, his family’s financial situation was not good, and hence, he had to wake up when the sun had barely risen, and go back home at late times. Hence, he was always stressed and tired. 

   Now that he had become a mosquito, he could fulfil his wishes, sleeping as much as he desired.

  Before long, Wen Zi started to peacefully. His body also started to unconsciously absorb the surrounding liquid, improving his growth. 

    ……

   As a mosquito egg, Zi Long was extremely happy. 

  During his two days as a mosquito egg, he slept without a single care in the world.

   However, all good things had to come to an end. 

    On the night of the second day, the mosquito egg started to dry up as cracks started to form since most of the mucus was now gone. 

    ——Crack!

Wen Zi suddenly heard a faint noise. 

If not for the source of the sound being right next to him, he would have completely missed it. 

He instantly used his compound eyes to look at the source of the sound. 

Unfortunately, the eyesight of a mosquito was atrocious. 

Hence, when he tried to look around at night, he could see nothing at all. 

 —— Crack!

 The faint sound could be heard again

  ——Crack !!

The sound continued. 

Wen Zi could now hear it quite easily, as the noise started to get louder. Suddenly, water rushed into the egg, and Wen Zi instinctively tried to save himself, as he knew that he was about to drown. 

He unconsciously held his breath.

As more and more water entered the egg, Wen Zi felt suffocated.

His body started to float and followed the water current without any resistance. 

 His head was also facing downwards, while his tail faced upwards towards the surface of the water. 

After a few minutes, when he was about to lose consciousness, his tail finally reached the water surface. 

The breathing hole opened, and fresh air filled his lungs. 

——Phew~

 He breathed deeply, like a tree that did not receive water for a long time. 

At the same time, in his mind, the blue interface showed up without warning. 

The interface finally changed for the first time after he had first seen it – small fireworks popped up on the screen, and exploded to form many small flowers. 

After the small celebration the system had prepared for him, there followed 4 lines of flashy words.

Wen Zi was elated – it was an upgrade!

Afterwards, the words disappeared, which were replaced by his stats:

I finally levelled up!

   Wen Zi was extremely excited.

   After evolving to level 1, his strength and speed had increased a bit.

    Thinking of this, he tried to swim two laps in the pond.

The result was that his speed was twice as fast as the other mosquitoes (scientific name 孑孓) that had just emerged from their shells.

  He also tried to use his small body to pull out one small blade of a water plant.

    The result was that what normal larvae could not even push, he could easily pull out a blade of grass. 

Wen Zi was stunned yet happy with this discovery – it had turned out that with only a one-point difference from the rest, had greatly increased his physical capabilities by almost two times.

Although it was at night, everything around him was as clear as day. 

Furthermore, due to his compound eyes, he was able to see things in detail.  

The experience for Wen Zi was extremely refreshing – he had suffered from horrible eyesight in the egg, and yet now, he had the ability to see everything clearly, which was a huge boost compared to other mosquitoes. Even at night, he was able to see up to 3 meters away from the bank. 

So this is the skill of improved vision + night vision!

  ！This ability is so OP!

  After enjoying the view, he looked at himself.

   He saw that his body was much longer than two days ago, and it has reached the length of 5 millimetres.

  His body was much like the normal mosquito; his head was the biggest in comparison to the rest of the body parts.

   ”Wen Zi nodded slightly, as he thought to himself, ‘Calm down, I will rise to the 3rd level soon with determination.’

As he thought, he also asked the interface

 ‘However, you have to tell me how a mosquito can quickly rise through the levels.’

  A sentence appeared on the interface:

    【Efforts to eat food, the system will help you extract high-quality DNA from food, transform your DNA, and complete evolution. 】

  “So it was to eat in order to evolve? Well, this system was truly made for me!”

He was only a larva; he hadn’t even grown wings or legs yet, where was he going to find food?

Besides, he didn’t even know what mosquito larvae ate.

He opened his small mosquito mouth up. 

   The bacteria and some tiny algae in the water flowed into the mouth.

    The feeling of hunger in the abdomen diminished somewhat.
