Chapter 45: New Product Launch (4)

Under the astonishment of the audience, Ren Hong paused for a moment. Rather than presenting a plot twist, he turned and looked at the back, pointing his right hand at the large screen behind him with a 45 degree swing. He looked at it and said, “Without the above and the series of preceding data as a prelude…” he paused again and turned to face the audience, “… S-1 wouldn’t have been born.”

The whole venue became excited and eager. Those watching the live-stream were also staring at the screen with gleaming eyes. Cook, inside Apple’s headquarters, interlocked his hands and covered his mouth, watching the video without moving or saying a word.

Is he finally getting down to business?

The press conference was very quiet, while the camera’s lights flashed. At that moment, Ren Hong raised his left hand and the large screen behind him displayed a close-up on his left wrist. Ren Hong looked to the audience and said, “Perhaps you have already noticed this item on my wrist…

“That’s right! This is our new product; the one that you have all been most looking forward to and also the reason why you came here.” Ren Hong shook his wrist and the bracelet emanated a bright, metallic shine. “The world’s first wearable smart device: the S-1!”

The camera locked on Ren Hong’s left wrist, showing it on the big screen. Ren Hong held his left wrist with his right hand and applied gentle pressure. Both ends of the bracelet automatically separated, and the audience watched as the bent ring reduced itself to a straight metal strip. Two seconds later, an extremely clear HD interface suddenly appeared over the hollow area.

Ren Hong pinched the two long ends of S-1 with each of his five fingers and turned the interface to the audience.

“Oh… My… God!”

“Impossible!”

“That’s amazing!”

“How did he do it?”

Ren Hong smiled, looking at the audience with S-1 in his hands. Their reaction wasn’t surprising at all. When the big screen clearly showed the image of the device in Ren Hong’s hands, there was a wave of incredulous murmurs from the audience.

Netizens watching the live-stream were also baffled with their mouths wide open, not knowing what to say. The situation lasted for five seconds, and the bullet-screen of every major video site was flooded with a series of 666. Cook silently looked at the wearable smart device, S-1, in the hands of Ren Hong.

He wondered how the iPhone 8S Plus could compete with S-1. What were his advantages?

At the press conference, Ren Hong held S-1 flat in his left hand, and once again gestured with his right hand. He began to pace around the stage again, staring at his feet, and said, “The world’s first wearable smart device, S-1! It is powered by the new 306 individual ASI Micro-Integrated Batteries which offers a capacity of up to 2850mAh. It has the new dual-core AX microprocessor with CPU frequency of up to 3.8GHz, 4GB of RAM with 256GB of ROM, 40GB of system memory, and 316GB of available memory. It comes with a multi-touchable optical hedge-imaging screen, single-card Internet access, supports all international network standards be it 3G and 4G. It also has WLAN capabilities, with dual-band Wi-Fi and light-guided Li-Fi signals; support for GPS navigation, A-GPS technology, GLONASS navigation, BDS (China Beidou Navigation), and more!”

At that point, Ren Hong had to give free advertising to Ganten mineral water again. While he drank water, the large screen behind him displayed the basic parameters of S-1.

This was definitely a fantastic configuration that was currently the best in the world, miles ahead of the iPhone 7S Plus.

Under everyone’s astonished gaze, Ren Hong returned to the center of the stage once again and continued. “Without a doubt, this is a top-of-the-line configuration. For product users, what we care about is still the practicality of S-1, and it’s obvious that this is a device with the most freedom. Users don’t even need to root anymore; you can delete any application you don’t want, including official applications.”

That statement definitely made a lot of users’ eyes glint. With such open freedom, this was definitely a godsend!

Ren Hong continued. “Maybe it cost XlouS a fortune in lost revenue, but I’m sure it’s worth it to give our users the best possible experience. XlouS has never been a technology company whose primary goal is to make money.”

What an ethical company! The last sentence undoubtedly made people watching the livestream admire them. It was true that the mobile phones on the market now were bundled with annoying softwares, which users didn’t even want to look at, occupying precious space. As Ren Hong said, S-1 was undoubtedly a device with the most freedom, where users could even uninstall official applications.

Apart from the loud applause that flooded the place, there was nothing else.

It was his applause, S-1’s applause, and XlouS’s applause—it was the applause from all over the world!
