The thing the dwarves showed me

 
 Jay took me through the town where the dwarves lived. At the end, there was suddenly a gaping hole.
 
 ”It’s down at the end of this hole.” (Jay)
 ”Down here?” (Eph)
 
 Eph blinked in surprise. Seems she hasn’t come to this place either. It was a place far into the town the dwarves lived in, and the hole was structured in a way that the end went further and further down.
 
 ”Mogu~♪”
 ”Mogu-!”
 ”Mogyu~♪”
 ”Mo~gu~♪”
 ”Umu! The moles are extremely cheery-nanoja!” (Bamboo Princess)
 
 The moles were in a good mood, and the Bamboo Princess seemed happy too. Eph’s eyes are sparkling too. The sight of the adorable moles makes one’s heart dance.
 Moles are creatures that live digging holes, so this kind of tunnel is probably calming to them. The dwarven town seems to also be pleasant for them.
 
 ”Kobelco is a bit troubled, aren’t you?” (Bamboo Princess)

 But the ceiling was a bit low for Kobelco. So he had to bend down to follow behind us. I thought he might be having some trouble, but gave me a thumbs up to show me he was doing fine.

 Uni was riding on top of Keon. Uni was skillfully riding the bouncy Keon. So cute.

 She cooed from my shoulder, as though to ask “what on earth could be down here?”. Her tail fluff was shaking fuzzily.
 The Bamboo Princess was hugging Kubota and playfully squishing around his tummy while walking. Kubota also seemed to be enjoying it.
 
 ”Papa won’t tell me either.” (Eph)
 ”It’s fun to see. But, you’ve got a lot of fluffy guys.” (Jay)
 ”Mogu-”
 ”Fluffiness is the best!” (Eph)

 Yambo took a spot on Jay’s head, and Eph was hugging Marbo as thy continued on.
 The cave had only one straight road, but it was quite long. Then as we went down, the smell of the beach gradually tickled my nose…
 
 ”Maybe, up ahead is…” (Wirk)
 ”You’ve noticed. Well, we’ve come this far.” (Jay)
 Then under Jay’s guidance, we went even further, and spread out after that was a beautiful, blue, gem-like spectacle.
 
 ”Waa~, so pretty! What is this!” (Eph)
 ”It’s a sea cave… but it really is pretty.” (Wirk)
 
 Spread out before us was the surface of the sea, quietly rippling in the cave. Its blue glow was also very pretty.
 The blue glow of the sea’s surface can either be caused by sunlight or by a reaction with mana. This place is deep, so it’s probably a reaction with mana, not sunlight.
 This island does have mana pools. It looks like the entire island might be rich in mana.
 
 ”Maybe this is what Papa wanted to show us?” (Eph)
 ”Wrong. Well, this is a spot that I’m proud of, but the thing I actually wanted to show you is that.” (Jay)
 
 Looking in the direction Jay pointed, one large ship was moored.
 
 ”So you wanted to show me this ship, huh.” (Wirk)
 ”Yeah.” (Jay)
 ”So, Papa. What is this ship.” (Eph)
 ”I don’t know.” (Jay)
 ”What do you mean?” (Bamboo Princess)
 ”Mogu mogu”
 ”Mogu~?”
 
 The Bamboo Princess’s eyebrows creased questioningly, and Marbo and Kubota tilted their heads to the side.
 
 ”Did Jay and the others make this?” (Wirk)
 ”Nope. The ship was built by my father and the other dwarves back then. And it was the one we used when we left Karcel.” (Jay)
 
 Karcel, in other words, after what you just spoke about.
 
 ”It’s true that this ship was built by my father and the others. However, I remember that, immediately after we began moving, my father said that he felt the ship was performing strangely better.” (Wirk)
 
 Jay continued while gazing at the imposingly-structured ship upon the sea’s surface.

Some of the guys were pleased with the ship they had built, but my father had a look of incomprehension on his face. So I thought. Maybe that time your ancestor did something.” (Jay)
 ”So you brought me here thinking I could maybe figure it out?” (Wirk)
 
 Jay nodded. I see. I’m also a magic architect. If it’s me, we might be able to tell if something was done to this ship.
 
 ”My father also thought it wasn’t, but to me, it just looked like an ordinary ship. I couldn’t see anything strange.” (Jay)
 ”Got it. Then I’ll give it a quick look.” (Wirk)
 
 I said that and got closer, but it’s quite a large ship. Structurally, it’s close to a Gallic ship, but the reinforcements incorporate the dwarves’ own unique techniques.
 This alone might have made it a robust ship for its time. However, it’s doubtful that a single ship would have been able to deal with the ferocious monsters that appear at sea.

 ”I see—” (Wirk)
 ”What did you find?” (Jay)
 
 Feeling the ship’s hull, such words slipped out of my mouth, and Jay came near and asked me such.
 
 ”Yeah. As Jay predicted, this ship has architectural techniques applied. Thanks to this, durability and stability were dramatically improved. Furthermore, it was done to be invisible to the eye.” (Wirk)
 
 It’s a really difficult thing to do.
 
 ”Most likely, the Lufta founder knew that the dwarves didn’t have a good impression of them, so he thought they wouldn’t obediently accept it as it was.” (Wirk)
 
 That’s why the technique was engraved secretly such that the dwarves wouldn’t know about it.

 Jay’s jaw dropped as he said that.
 This was the name of the founder at the time, and the name Lufta has since been passed down as the family name of magic architects.

 [TL: So, I’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Volume 2 is nearing its end. Compared to Volume one, it was much longer. The bad news is that, it seems that the author has completely moved to Light Novel releases for this story since, as of the release of the LN’s Volume 3, all the WN chapters have been taken down. If this is true, then that means the WN won’t be written till the end. I’m not sure what I’ll do; I could drop it, or I could continue till I run out of available chapters, or I could switch over to the LN, I don’t know. At the very least, I’ll upload up till the end of the WN’s Volume 2]
