Bian Bian was given a fright.

Her hand shook and the bread fell onto the ground. She hurriedly jumped off the chair to pick it up, then, tightly holding the bread, she went over to look at the big apple on the table with an afraid and nervous and curious heart.

Bian Bian had eaten apples before. That was something grandpa had used supplies to trade for, which was also how she knew what an apple looked like. But in her memory, apples were small, plus the apple’s skin would have some freckles and was even wrinkly and didn’t looked nice.

She had never seen such a large and good looking apple before.

Grey Grey was still on the table.

Bian Bian looked left and right, then continued to stare at the apple for a few seconds, making sure that the apple wouldn’t suddenly start “moving” before finally mustering up the courage to snatch the teddy bear on the table away.

Then she hugged the little bear and retreated over two meters away, still staring at the large apple.

Though Bian Bian was young, she was very clever. The door and windows were all closed and there was only her and Bian Bian in the house. She had been quietly eating bread just now and didn’t do anything, so why would a large apple suddenly appear out of nowhere.

Her little brain couldn’t understand no matter how hard she thought.

Then Bian Bian suddenly remembered the incident with her shifting down the staircase.

Her little cheeks were puffed full of confusion.

“Grey Grey, I’m kinda afraid.” The little girl tightly hugged the little bear as she wanted to look away from the apple, yet her eyes couldn’t help staying on the large apple on the table. “But, this apple is so pretty.”

The most important thing was that, Bian Bian was smelling a sweet and fragrant scent in the air, and the scent was coming from the apple.

Her original distance after “running away” from the apple was two metres, but after a while of observation and realising that the apple was still staying on the table and not moving, plus nothing out of the ordinary was appearing in the house, her feet involuntarily started moving forwards.

The apple hadn’t moved even when she was already next to the table.

Bian Bian was only half a head taller than the table. Getting on her tiptoes, she reached out a small hand to poke the big apple slightly.

Then she immediately retracted it.

“It didn’t bite me.” Bian Bian lowered her head to tell the little bear. “It seems real.”

The five year old little girl didn’t understand how the big apple appeared, but after checking, she started being really happy.

In the past when going out with grandpa, they would occasionally find things while walking around. Grandpa said that it was theirs if they found it, and that she could take it.

That’s why, when a big apple appeared on the table, in her house, she thought, if all that was counted in, then it could be considered hers?

“Then can I eat it?” The little girl asked Grey Grey.

After a few seconds, Bian Bian used a finger to press the little bear’s head. The bear nodded, so, after receiving Grey Grey’s agreement, Bian Bian climbed up the chair again, only able to pick the big apple up after using both hands.

The apple’s unique scent tempted Bian Bian, making the little girl who had only been able to eat instant noodles for one month straight nearly start drooling.

She didn’t eat it immediately though, instead carried the apple into the washroom. Then, stepping onto a stool, she placed the apple in the basin and turned on the tap.

———The reason Lu Yu decided to move into this place was because the tap water supply didn’t stop. Though unclear of the reason, after some testing he found that the tap water didn’t contain any viruses and could be used.

Bian Bian was taught by grandpa to be clean ever since she could remember things to avoid illness from entering from the mouth.

That’s why the apple naturally had to be washed before being eating.

It took quite a bit of effort for Bian Bian to wash such a large apple, but with much effort, she finally managed to wash every single area properly. The sense of accomplishment filled Bian Bian as she held the washed apple and returned to the kitchen table, then went to the kitchen to retrieve a fruit knife.

She imitated the way grandpa cut things, carefully cutting a slice out.

The little girl gave it a nibble and immediately after her grape like eyes started shining. She happily said, “Grey Grey, it so so delicious, even yummier than the apple I had before.”

A child’s memory was etched very deeply. Bian Bian felt that this was the most delicious apple she had ever eaten.

She ate three slices in a row before restraining herself.

Grandpa taught her before that no matter what it was that she was eating or doing, one must practice self-restraint and learn to not go too far.

She didn’t understand what it meant to “not go too far”, but she listened to grandpa’s words. She couldn’t be greedy.

Then Bian Bian remembered that every time grandpa found a fruit, he would use a knife to peel the skin off. She ate the apple flesh while gramps ate the apple peel.

Bian Bian didn’t understand, so she asked grandpa why. Grandpa said the he liked eating apple peels and that apple peels were even yummier.

She thought, the apple was so big, there definitely would be a lot of apple peel to peel and grandpa could eat that. Plus this apple was even yummier than the apples she had eaten before in the past. Grandpa like apple peels, she believed that this apple’s peel would definitely be yummier than the ones in the past.

Her eyes lit up.

Bian Bian once again held the fruit knife and started slowly peeling the apple. The knife was slightly too large for her, so she peeled very slowly, and even ___

“It’s alright, grandpa will like it.” Bian Bian peeled very seriously. This was her first time peeling something, no matter if it was the knife or the fruit, both were bigger than her hand. Suddenly, she accidentally slid the blade over her finger and immediately released it in pain. The knife fell to the ground with a clang.

The cut started bleeding, and because of the pain, tears were about to fall from Bian Bian’s eyes.

So painful, it hurts as much as falling off the chair that one time.

The sudden injury made Bian Bian feel helpless. A few seconds passed before she could recall how grandpa dealt with her injuries in the past.

She first used a towel to cover the cut, but in the process some traces of blood was left on the apple peel.

Then she remembered that there were plasters.

Grandpa had used it on her before, he’d even said that after putting a plaster on the wound it wouldn’t hurt anymore.

Recalling it, Bian Bian ran into the washroom and pulled open the lowest drawer, taking out a small first-aid kit inside the drawer. This was one of the toys that Lu Yu prepared it for her.

Having found the plaster, Bian Bian peeled away the tissue that was already completely dyed red with blood, clumsily pasting the plaster on.

Crystalline tears were still hanging on her long lashes. The little girl started blowing on her finger, as if it would hurt less this way.

“Grey Grey, I’m alright…” After returning to the kitchen, Bian Bian happily waved her finger at the little bear, her voice still bearing the nasally sound one had after crying. She said, “Look, it doesn’t hurt one bit.”

After getting injured, she didn’t dare to peel the apple anymore and so found a bag and placed the apple peel inside.

She didn’t see that one peel had been stained with her blood.

“Grey Grey, lets go deliver the apple peel to grandpa.” Picking up the little bear, Bian Bian once again started walking towards the fourth floor.

The sound of collisions had already stopped.

Bian Bian knew that grandpa had turned into one of those terrifying monsters, but it was okay. He was still grandpa and she wasn’t scared.

There were still three steps left before she arrived. Bian Bian started jumping with joy because she had gotten to eat bread and an apple today and even drank clean water. Grandpa also got to eat bread and clean water, and now there was even the apple peel that he liked.

In the past, it was grandpa who found food for her to eat, while now she had grown up and could find food for him to eat.

Bian Bian was very happy.

But soon she became at a loss of what to do.

Because, just at this moment, her body was suddenly shifted back to the third floor’s doorway, just like how when she had tripped, she was immediately moved to the third floor entrance.

Xiu Jin carefully rubbed a layer of body oil all over his body, only changing into his pyjamas and leaving the bathroom after making sure that every inch of his body was covered in it. Rarely able to find the time to rest at home, he then lazily lied on the sofa, instructing the smart butler to prepare breakfast.

“No meat for today, I seem to have grown slightly fatter recently and want to lose weight.” He said, “Make a few diet dishes, light dishes.”

The smart butler obeyed.

Xiu Jin stopped him again. “Even though I’m not eating meat, try to make the vegetarian dishes taste like meat.”

“Yes your highness.” Even when facing this kind of strange request, the smart butler still obliged without hesitation.

The seventh prince who had finally finished all of his matters finally remembered of the new daughter that he was raising and hurriedly turned on the ly-set.

But the moment he looked, his heart started hurting badly for her.

The child actually hurt herself while peeling the apple!

When he saw her try to hold in the pain yet unable to hold in her tears as she cared for her wound, he quickly went to look for a medical kit in the game. Alas, the entire market section only had one choice, everything else inside was grey. He was unable to do anything and could only watch on.

Suddenly, a small paragraph appeared: Bian Bian thought that Lu Yu liked to eat apple peels, and so peeled the apple to give them to him.

Xiu Jin: “……”

Then, he saw the little girl place the bloodied apple peel into the bag, ready to give it to her grandpa.

Zombies feasted on blood; he could think of the consequences upon the bag’s delivery with his toes.

Xiu Jin wanted to stop her but it was a pity the screen didn’t give him any choices. The little girl was already on the steps. This was the daughter he’d just started raising, how could he just let her die so easily.

With no other solution, he could only use the previous solution, which was to bring her back to the entrance.

Bian Bian’s little head looked around. Staring in the direction of the stairway that led from the third floor to the second for a while, she still didn’t have any new discoveries, so, after a moment of hesitation, tightly holding the teddy bear’s arms, she carried the bag and once again stepped foot onto the staircase.

Then——

She was once again shifted to the third floor doorway.

Three tries later, Bian Bian could finally hold it back anymore no longer and was frightened to tears.
