The GM Has Logged Into A Different World Chapter 37

After getting everyone inside the 『Room』, I caught the glimpse of the world outside the window. The thorns outside were repelled by some sort of barrier, so I didn’t think they could get inside.

Was this enough protection for those who try to evacuate?

I went outside from the back and activated my 『Stealth』.

Some thorns monsters tried to jump on me, but they lost the sight of me and searched the area relentlessly.

I activated my 『Wing』 and fly into the sky. Meanwhile, the thorn monsters tried to enter  the church from the church’s backdoor, but repelled by the barrier.

Quite a solid barrier, if you asked me.
But the people inside were basically canned food.

Our army needed at least 5 days to come here. At that point, everyone here would already have starved to death.

Sending us here was the correct answer, I guess.

With my stealth on, I could freely explore the empty Empire’s castle. The castle was literally the castle of thorns. The once beautiful garden was a mere shadow of itself, the thorns coiled around without leaving any spot. Imagine an ancient elf-ish castle or elf’s hidden village that was eroded by the greens. Now change it to black and add ominous aura.

If I’m not mistaken, it should be……

The east-end on the second floor.

Thee thorns were dangling all over the wall…
Was there supposed to be the window?

Looking at the 『Map』, there were 3 enemy markers there.
I didn’t know about the details of the castle’s interior, though.

Let’s kick it down!

After the loud banging sound of a heavy object hitting the ground, the 3 monsters attacked me. I cut the first one on its chest into two and I dealt with the second one with a horizontal slash. The third one was a ranged-type, it shoot a wooden arrow with its wooden bow.

『Triple Impact!!』

I thrust my sword forward and 3 shockwaves was shot directly towards my enemy, however, the hit was too shallow so the thorn monster could still able to endure the hit.

As I had expected, I couldn’t utilize the skill’s maximum potential since I wasn’t using a spear. But it was still enough to break its balance. I stabbed my sword right into its chest before it could regain its position, 3 additional shockwaves and the monster was gone.

The room was now safe.
Looking at the 『Map』, there seemed to be no enemies outside of this room.

I guess it was safe for me to start summoning the door to the 『Room』.

Just as Tatsuma said, I can safely use magic here.

The door opened. The first one to come out was Hayato, followed by Tatsuma, Nemea, and Prince Leon. Adelle, Akiha, and Haruka followed them shortly after.

It was an 8 member party, including me.

Previously, I took the opportunity and shook Nemea’s hands before he entered the 『Room』. I used it as an excuse to get close enough to read his 『Past Log Analysis』, which resulted in nothing suspicious. With that, I think we could trust him.

Meanwhile, the others said that 「It’s better for us if we have more helping hands. Not to mention that he helped keeping the church safe, so he couldn’t be a bad person」 or so they say.

Nemea was strong and polite, so no one argued about him joining our party.

I learnt why he brought the maid into this country, but…… It wasn’t the time for me to say anything. Right now, solving the Empire’s situation was the top priority.

「Tatsuma, do you know where Magic Artifact it is?」

「Did you see the magic square down there? They told me that the effect expires if you move the magic square. I was told strictly to not touch it. Back in our world, I think this was something similar to the power supply… maybe… I’m not the expert, though. So I don’t know about the details」

So the magic square is the power supply…
Then there was no way we could walk around carrying this.
I wonder if its appearance as stand light was also part of the interior design.

But this was a really annoying situation.

It meant that we couldn’t use magic if we were caught in a trouble.

「Hey, Tatsuma. Do you know where the thing that prevents us from using magic? I know we have High-Potions and Elixirs, but we can’t recover our allies from distance. If a map of the castle was spread, it would be easier for people to sneak inside.

I understood the whole place with my 『Map』. I wonder if I could use manufacturing skills to reproduce it.

Maybe if I had a paper and a brush…

「Please wait a second. I think I can create a map using woodworking skill 『Transcribe』. Since it’s a map to the whole castle’s interior, I think it should be a good idea for us to have one each」

「He is dangerous even for us, the Kingdom, as well…」

「You must take care not to antagonize Masaki, then. If Masaki leaves the Kingdom, I’ll go follow him as well. I’m sure Yoko is the same」(Adelle)

「I have received much favors since I came to the kingdom, so I don’t think I will leave the Kingdom in near future. Unless, I was pushed beyond the line, of course」(Masaki)

I didn’t forget to nail a little warning on my last remark.
『There is a possibility of me leaving the kingdom』
The prince caught on it and nodded.
His face was like saying 『I’ll be careful about it』.

But I was happy to hear Adelle saying that she would come with me if I were to leave the Kingdom. At worst, we would leave the Kingdom and live somewhere peaceful… I wish I could say that, but we must do what must be done.

By the way, it was about time my 『Transcribe』 to be finished. The woodworking skill 『Transcribe』 was used to write books, design furniture, etc. Without the blueprint, you couldn’t make furniture with skills, so this skill is essential for furniture manufacturer.

Paper and ink are expensive, but in this world, the Kingdom had bought tons of them, so it wasn’t really that expensive if we bought them from the Kingdom.

Nemea pointed out the map with his fluffy hands.
Certainly, it might be better for us to do just that.

We have a number of people here, so should we divide the group into two?

「So the members will be…」

Top floor: Masaki, Haruka, Prince Leon, Tatsuma.

Underground: Adelle, Hayato, Akiha, Nemea.

We splitted into two groups .

Akiha had her 『First-aid set』 so naturally, she would be separated from me.

Since they will travel deep below the castle, Adelle was chosen because she could heal herself. Hayato was chosen for his endurance, stamina, and self-regeneration ability. Nemea was also chosen for his ability to blow his enemies away with his BARE HANDS. It was a team specializing in endurance.

Meanwhile, we were going deeper into the castle interior. Haruka was chosen to deal with the plants. Prince Leon was chosen to protect her. And Tatsuma because he was the one who wanted to save the princess.

The team was quite balanced. While Haruka had a low offensive capabilities, her skills as 『Farmer』 provided her with herbicides and healing herbs. Even I was surprised when I saw the Ivy monsters died immediately upon contact.

There was a lot of enemies markers, but I saw 2 especially big markers. One of them was in basement and one on the top floor.

I asked Tatsuma about it. He said that no one was allowed to enter this part of the underground basement except for the royal families. No one knew the reason why. It was only a guess, but I think there was some sort of 『Guardian』 in the basement.

Although there was a magic barrier to protect the castle, it couldn’t protect the castle from erosion from the thorny ivy, since the thorny ivy wasn’t related to magic. 

And so, with us from the top and Adelle’s group at the bottom, we started cleaning up.

But there was one thing I hadn't mentioned before.

There was a huge yellow heart mark on the top floor.
It seemed to be planted there.

In the MMO that I managed, the heart mark was generally assigned to the queen or the princess.

The king was assigned with a spade.
Considering the Empire’s lineage, it was probably the princess…
There was once a queen, but I heard that she died of illness.

If I told this to Tatsuma, he would lose his calm and act recklessly.

Also, the mark was flashing in two colors, yellow and red, indicating a dangerous situation. I thought about the situation while attacking the monsters in front of me. If my guess was right, things would be more troublesome than I imagined.

We killed the monsters with only one blow and advanced to the top floor in haste.
