The GM Has Logged Into A Different World Chapter 41

I managed to sneak out well.
The fact that the whole room was covered in trees and vegetation made things so much easier.

This way, Tatsuma &bnq; Prince Leon wouldn't notice when I activated my stealth.
I had to disappear before the soldier that I blew off got up.

「Gu…ruru?」

The monster growled as it frantically scanned the area to look for me, but there was no way it could find me with my 『Stealth』. I got right behind him and swung my sword right into its neck.

ーslashー dropー

Taking this invisible attack, the soldier had no chance to defend nor to evade, and was easily decapitated before crumpling lifelessly to the ground. I felt like a certain alien predator, but this wasn’t the sort of trick I could show off too often.

Someone who could kill you this easily would just be utterly terrifying, after all. My stealth effect vanished after the attack, but it didn’t really bother me. There were no other enemies around.

Should I go around and help the others?
Ah, Haruka grew vines on the floor that entangled her enemy and crushed them.

Their fight had ended. There was no need for me to go there.
Meanwhile Tatsuma…
It would probably be disrespectful if I disturb him right now.
Let's leave him alone.

That meant that I got some time. I’ll use the opportunity to swap the 『Increased Attack Range (L)』 with appraisal skill.

Appraisal Target: Fuiria.

Fuiria Dol Granfang
Race: Human
HP:30/100
MP:200
Status Condition: Curse (Plantification) Mental Erosion

Uwah, this was horrible.
On top of the things that had been mentioned before, was it also a curse that couldn’t be healed by medicines? I probably could cancel its effect with magic, but I couldn’t use it yet. But I probably could still restore her HP.

I held a bottle of High-Potion and approached. Suddenly, I felt a slight vibrations at my feet. My presence detection was running rampant. Huge bright red marker appeared, a danger was approaching from below my feet.

「Uooooo!?」

I received no damage thanks to 『Invincibility』, but still, I got blown away quite far away. That wooden stake from before wasn’t coming from Iro, but from Fuiria… or rather… from the tree!

The first attack was probably due to Iro’s order, but did it also attack if anyone approach the main body? What a nuisance… But I could still throw the bottle!

I jumped around, avoiding the wooden stakes coming from the hard marble floor. My thrown High-Potion flew right towards Fuiria before smashing itself into one of the vines that appeared to block its path.

Thankfully, some drips managed to reach to her and restore a bit of her HP.

The vines ruined at least half of the potion and Fuiria didn’t even get to drink it directly, but at least I confirmed that it was possible to heal her.

Now… I could only hope that Adelle’s team can finish their task soon.
Meanwhile, I’ll held out until I could use magic.

「Hayato-kun! Below you!」

At the same time, the mud that crept below Hayato’s feet shot up like a very sharp cone. Thanks to Nemea’s warning, Hayato managed to jump and avoided the danger.

「That’s close! Thanks!」

「Don’t mind. In any case, I had fought Mud Golems before, but I’ve never seen this subspecies. Very troubling indeed」

Nemea swung his muscular arm while dodging the incoming mud fist. He went past under the golem’s arm and punched away the sticky mud. However, the resilient vines surrounding its core reduced the damage from Nemea’s deadly attack into nothing.

「But we still have to kill this thing」

The elastic and resilient vines could be seen from its outside. Adelle shot her mana spear, which made a huge circular hole and cut some of the vines off.

Heavy groan filled the space. The golem stretched its mud to pick up its severed arm.

ーーDor! DorDor!!ー

Bullets broke the lengthened broken mud arm apart, preventing its recovery.
The mud golem turned its thick neck to face the hindrance.
Akiha wasn’t holding a magnum anymore. The ones in her hands were a pair Desert Eagle.

「Everyone, I searched all over the room, but I can’t find anything that could be the magic sealing device」
「If it comes to that… Just as we guessed, the magic sealing device must be hidden inside this golem. Certainly, if you only rely on physical attacks, fighting a mud golem is a very difficult task. This mud golem is perfect to hide such devices. We must destroy its core but…  Anyone have a plan?」

Adelle stared worriedly at the Mud Golem’s severed arm. The mud reduced their physical attacks and the vines that eroded the castle protecting the golem’s core. Not to mention the Golem’s ability to regenerate itself.

She never heard about this subspecies.

As Adelle contemplated on how to beat the golem, Hayato and Nemea made their move on the golem.

「Stop thinking too much about it」

「Of course. It’s not like our attack doesn’t work. It’s just our attack doesn’t really effective against it. If that’s the case……」

「「THEN WE GROUP UP!! AND HIT IT TILL IT DIES!!」」 (TL: SAO Abridged)

The two musclebrains charged straight into the Golem. Adelle was too stunned to move. Akiha placed a hand on her shoulder, just to bring her back to reality.

「You get used to it. But they have a point. In this case, it’s better to use simpler method like this than to overthink about the solution. By the way, Adelle-san. There’s something I wish to try. Can you help me on this one?」

「My help?」

「Mm. With Adelle-san, I’m sure this will work」

While the girls were talking, Nemea and Hayato were at the Mud Golem’s mercy. By trying to kill the intruders who jumped right into its torso, the Mud Golem gathered mud and vines forming a huge fist.

With such a huge fist, even a large monster would suffer a lot of damage if was hit. There was no way normal humans would survive if they were hit. But the ones in front of the mud golem this time were not normal humans.

The golem swung its fist downwards. Nemea bend himself backwards with his fist behind him, finding the correct timing. Just before the huge golem arm hit him, Nemea’s fist lighted up, punching the golem’s fist with an ungodly speed.

「Saint Arts: Thrust!」(TL: 聖拳突き)

The golem’s arm was severed due to the sheer power behind Nemea’s technique. Shockwaves spread from where both Nemea’s fist and the Golem’s fist connected.

「UooOOOooOOooO……!」

The golem groaned as it lost its footing. Its arm was gone, including the mud and the vines that strengthened it. Hayato didn’t miss his chance. He held his weapon behind him to gain momentum, not his bokutou, but a huge traffic sign.

(Elli the Editor: Nani!!! Where did he get the traffic sign?)

「Halt!」

Hayato activated the weapon’s hidden ability. It was one of the potentially-surekill-technique from Banchou Toshi. It was one of the finishing moves that exist in certain weapons. From a bat that could send an enemy flying really far away to Hayato’s favorite 『Fresh Blood Bokutou』 with a lifesteal effect that converts a small percentage of damage he applied to his opponent to restore his HP.

This time, he used a stop traffic sign.

Anyone who was being hit by this skill cannot move for 3 seconds.
Those 3 seconds was way more than enough for Hayato.

「ORAAAAAAAAAAA!!!」

He swung the traffic sign as hard as he could. The mud golem’s arm was severed like being cut by a sharp blade. The golem didn’t notice anything after Hayato’s effect ended. It tried to move his other arm, the one that Hayato cut off. It finally understood that both of its arm had already been cut.

Both of its arms were already gone.

「OOOooOOoO!?」

The golem groaned once more, either angry or lamenting its lost arms. It had some confidence in its strength. There was no way it could hide its surprise when both of its arms were cut off this easily. For that reason, there was a delay before it realized that it could use the remaining mud as weapons until the rest of its arm regenerated. A very fatal delay.

「Both of you! Get away from there!」(Akiha)

Right after hearing Akiha’s warning, Nemea and Hayato both dodged to the left and right of the golem, sprinting to the nearest wall.

Quick lesson: When Akiha told you to get away, there was no need to question why. You just had to do as she said.

A mass of mana, supposedly made by Adelle, formed countless number of hands and attacked the golem. Each mana hands was carrying a white object and attached it to the golem’s body.

「Oh for fー NEMEA! REGROUP WITH AKIHA!!」

Hayato knew what was going on.
He didn’t know what those particular white objects were, but he certainly knew what they do.
It only spelled recklessness and danger.

Nemea frantically rushed to where Akiha was, just in time when a huge black wall appeared out of nowhere.

Adelle made the wall as a barrier. After making those mana arms, she made a huge wall of mana. Adelle usually used her mana to form weapons, but this time, she formed whatever Akiha needed.

Hayato and Nemea had arrived safe and sound behind the black wall.

That was her cue.
Akiha pressed the switch she was holding on her hand.

ーーーBOOOOOOOOOOOOMM!!!ーーー

A huge explosion shook the whole floor.
The vibration could be felt throughout the entire castle. It was so powerful that it might collapse the entire basement.

What Akiha just used was a plastic bomb, C4.
A very potent bomb, even more powerful than dynamite. It had enough power to obliterate a heavy-duty tank if you sticked enough C4 on it.

The mud golem was destroyed into very small pieces. There was no noticeable trace from the golem, including the ground it was previously stood on. When the cloud of dust settled, the light that wascoming from the corner of the room had gone.

「Looks like we can use magic now」

Adelle tried some basic fire magic as a test. A small flame was lit on her palm.
The magic sealing device obstructed her mana gate, but since she could lit a fire using magic, that indicated that the magic sealing device had gone.

「Yosh, let’s hurry climb back to the top!」

They finished their job. They quickly climbed the spiral staircase in order to rendezvous with Masaki’s team. Back in the damp underground room, the peaceful quiet returned once more. No one noticed the one particular huge tree root extending itself even deeper underground.

***

At the corner of the throne room, Iro was being held at spearpoint.
He was supposed to have the upper hand. He had strengthened Schwarz with various drugs and potions, but Schwarz was defeated and now Iro was in a grave danger.

As an ex-civil worker, Iro was good in politics and scheming. Years of experience in those fields didn’t help him in battle, not even after being turned into such a deformed body.

「Don’t worry. I don’t have a hobby to torture people. Your death will be quick and painful」

Fear built up inside him.
He slowly took a step back.

He still had one card to play.
If he could take the princess as a hostage, not even Tatsuma could act against him. But that plan would soon vanished too.

『Dispel』

Looking at the source of the voice behind him, Fuiria was wrapped in soft light as she were being slowly separated from the tree trunk. Of course, the culprit was none other than me. The yours truly who blew away a mutant soldier in one attack.

The curse that couldn’t be healed by ordinary medicines was easily cured with a spell from another world.

At this moment, Iro realized why I taunted him so much when we first met. It was to direct his attention to fight us instead of taking Fuiria as a hostage right from the start.

Tatsuma definitely came to safe Fuiria. If only he took Fuiria as a hostage from the beginning, he could force Tatsuma to fight us and easily deal with whoever survived the ordeal. But with my provocation, that idea went straight out of his head and he ordered his soldiers to charge recklessly.

Regret always came too late.
Without his hostage card, he couldn’t do anything to Tatsuma.

「I knew you’re going to take the princess as a hostage at some point. This piece of……!」

When the spear stabbed the tip of his nose, Iro lost all strength on his knees and fell on his butt.

「H-hii……!! I… I’m sorry!! It’s my fault! Everything is my fault! A-ah, yes, Tatsuma.
You… no… This humble servant of yours shall present this empire for you, Your Majesty! This humble self have experience with internal affair, I can help you as your prime minister!! P-please at… at least spare my life! I will do anything!!」

Even after he turned into such a grotesque looking monster, he was still coward at heart. He pressed his forehead against the floor. Tatsuma simply watched him. His eyes were colder than ice.

「You didn’t give anything.
I simply take them back.
Your life is worthless」

(TL: 貴様から貰うのは何もない。奪い返すだけだ。貴様の命ごとな. You have nothing to give me. Only things that I should take back from you. Now, regarding your life)

「Hiiii!?」

Tatsuma brandished his spear.
*THUNK* Iro fell face first into the ground.
I rushed to him while carrying Fuiria in my hands.

「Did you just…」

「We can still get some useful information from this cretin. I’ll kill him after that」

「I… I see… Here, take her. It’s your princess. Sorry I took your role in saving her」

「I’m not such a snotty nosed brat to wish for an epic hero-saving-the-princess story like that. I’d beg anyone if they return Fuiria safe and sound. Thank you… Thank you for saving her」

Tatsuma carried Fuiria with both hands. She was sleeping peacefully.

「I used healing magic to heal her injuries and whatnot. I don’t know anything that heals fatigue, so she still need a good sleep. About the tree… should we burn it?」

「But if we burn it, the fire will spread to the whole city, hm? How about we pour tooons of herbicide on its root and let it slowly wither away?」

Haruka appeared out of nowhere. She looked at Fuiria’s sleeping face and smiled.
Leon was right next to her. When he saw Fuiria, he knew the battle had ended and nodded with a big smile on his face.

「I need to report about our success with everyone. This battle is our triumph」

They all cheered and prepared themselves before going back home.
At that moment, the tree began pulsating.
