Chapter 010 - So one needs to factor in economics when studying metaphysics? (1)

During class, Tan Muxing glanced over at Chu Qianli, who was sleeping by the window, then he noticed He Shichen walking over to them looking very solemn. He panicked a little. Nobody had ever paid attention to him sitting in the corner before but Chu Qianli’s arrival brought about much attention.

He Shichen was the top of the class and also top among the entire grade. Even though he had declined the position as the class lead, he was still authoritative within their class. As much as all students were of high status, but being the heir of the He family still made him stand out. Regardless of the status of the He family, his own achievements, too, were impressive in and of themselves.

Granted, the He family’s current heir was, at the moment, sleeping next to Tan Muxing and had no idea that the former hair was charging at her.

He Shichen said to Tan Muxing nonchalantly. “Hi. Excuse me, please.”

Feeling helpless, Tan Muxing leaned backward a little. Trapped in between a rock and a hard place, he watched on as events unfolded in front of him.

He Shichen reached out and drummed impatiently on Chu Qianli’s desk. He noticed that she was sleeping so soundly and deeply that she didn’t react to that at all. He finally patted her unhappily and said, coldly, “Wake up.”

Chu Qianli looked up groggily and had no idea what He Shichen was up to.

Looking at his clueless competition, he wanted to scold her for bringing shame to the He family. Nevertheless, he had never really said anything mean in his entire life. In the end, he was only able to squeeze out, stiffly, “We have never had someone so lazy in the He family.”

He felt that his words were quite harsh.

He Zhenghe, their father, was a very accomplishing man and would continue to study and improve himself at night after a long day at work during the day time. Yu Shen, their mother, was also highly educated and a good critic in arts. She was far from a shallow or ignorant person.

He Shichen has always had high standards for himself. In his eyes, Chu Qianli also needed to study hard. How else would she be able to manage the He empire?

Chu Qianli, “?” What did he mean by that? There were no lazy people at home?

Casually, she responded, “Oh? Then we have one now. I feel so very special.”

He Shichen, “! ! ?” Have you no shame??

He Shichen had never encountered a naughty child before now and had no experience in educating one. He could only warn her sternly, “I don’t want to you see you sleeping during the next class.”

Chu Qianli made him a promise, “I won’t.”

He Shichen’s look finally mellowed out a little when he heard that and returned to his own spot, placated.

Tan Muxing, seeing that the conflict was over, let out a sigh of relief and added nicely, “It’s not good to sleep in class……”

He was very worried that the two He’s heir would go at each other in public but the relationship between the two didn’t seem as tense as it was portrayed in the rumors.

Chu Qianli nodded. “Right, I’ve slept enough. Now I need some food.”

Tan Muxing, “?”

The next section, when He Shichen spotted Chu Qianli snacking during class, he was almost crushed. He had never seen anyone that ridiculous!

Chu Qianli paid no attention in any of the classes the entire morning. She was finally warned by He Shichen again during lunch break.

He Shichen said sternly to her, “What I meant was for you to do you duty as a student!” Not going from sleeping to snacking and only after she was told not to.

Chu Qianli pouted wordlessly.

Luckily, the task of education did not last very long. Those around them helped her out just in time. “Shichen, wanna join us for lunch?”

As there were others in class, He Shichen did not continue to lecture her. He decided that they would have a long talk about it that night.

After watching He Shichen walked away, Chu Qianli rested her chin on her palm and couldn't help but grumbled, “Capricorns can be so annoying. They are dull, listless, and very work-oriented……”

All He Shichen needed to do was to charge ahead by himself. Why did he feel obligated to drag her along?
