In the large training room, a black and blue blur intersected amidst the roaring clamor of continuous collisions. The blue mecha was tall and handsome, it was unstoppable with its one-hit-kill artillery, cold weaponry,[1] and white curved knife. The black mecha was full of killing intent. With its immense firepower, every one of its attacks was deadly.

Yue Chu continuously attacked with his mecha, the ‘Blue Bird.’ He was extremely swift leaving blue afterimages by Wei Xieyang’s side as he mercilessly swung his sharp steel knife. He only needed one small opening to break through all of Wei Xieyang’s defenses.

However, Wei Xieyang didn’t expose any gaps in his defense. He was very good at predicting Yue Chu’s next move, and although he wasn’t as fast as Yue Chu, he was still able to deftly avoid his attacks. Wei Xieyang locked in on Yue Chu with his firearm, forcing Yue Chu to retreat a few steps away.

With a large clang, Yue Chu’s knife plunged deep into the ground right next to Wei Xieyang’s head. Yue Chu manipulated his mecha into a standing position, he had won this battle. His smiling face looked particularly bright through the helmet. Sweat slowly slid down his snow white skin, making it look crystal clear. You couldn’t help but want to pinch it a bit.

Yue Chu: “Your Highness, I won again.”

Wei Xieyang clenched his teeth and got up, gasping for breath. The strenuous exercise had consumed a lot of his physical strength, but his eyes were still surprisingly alert. He really hadn’t expected Yue Chu to be so strong. In these few practice fights, he had been continuously suppressed by Yue Chu’s speed and skill.

Wei Xieyang: “Don’t let your guard down, I’ll beat you sooner or later.”

Yue Chu: “I’m looking forward to that day. But keep in mind that I will be improving alongside Your Highness.”[2]

They looked at each other and smiled, one was proud while the other was tolerant. No words were spoken, but they both understood each other.

The intercom at the door rang, and Wei Xieyang’s eyes turned cold. He had already warned them not to disturb him while training.

Guard: “Your Highness, classmate Du Guzhou is looking for you.”

Wei Xieyang was startled and the coldness quickly faded from his pretty face, replaced by the shining radiance of anticipation.

Yue Chu curled his lips up, his black and white eyes were filled with smiles, like a warm spring sun, soft and moving. But, if you looked closer, you would find a flash of irony hidden within the depths of those lash covered eyes.

The two of them dismounted from their mechas, and Wei Xieyang unconsciously raked a hand through his slightly wet hair. His eyes dodged away, not daring to look straight at Yue Chu. He bit his lower lip angrily, Damn! What’s wrong with me? Why did he feel so guilty when Du Guzhou was clearly his fiance?

Yue Chu seemed to feel his embarrassment and lightly put his[3] hand on Wei Xieyang’s shoulder as if nothing was wrong.

“Your Highness, you should show Du Guzhou your training results, I’m sure he’ll be proud of you.”

“Will he really?”

As he walked out the door, Wei Xieyang suddenly lost all his confidence. The picture of Du Guzhou’s impatient and harsh scolding appeared in his mind, and he clenched his fists as his whole body tensed up.

Seeming to feel his agitation, Yue Chu turned around to look at him. The two of them were standing very close, close enough for Wei Xieyang to clearly see the doubts swirling in those clear eyes. He forced out a wry smile, hiding his emotions behind his long lashes.

The door slowly opened and Du Guzhou’s tall figure appeared in the doorway. He was still holding his hat in his hand and it was obvious that he had just come back from the training grounds. But the stern expression on his face was not as encouraging as they had hoped. Upon seeing Wei Xieyang sweating in a training uniform, the corner of his lips flattened into a straight line as he raised his brows in extreme dissatisfaction.

In a deep voice, Du Guzhou asked, “Xieyang, do you know what you’re doing? The mecha competition is full of danger, an omega like you doesn’t belong there. Withdraw from it immediately and we can pretend that it never happened.”

Yue Chu put on an expression of surprise, but was already internally setting off fireworks. He couldn’t help but give Du Guzhou a 666.[4] He had underestimated Du Guzhou’s strength in this area, he was simply a god at killing his own interests. The style of ruthless questioning followed by irrefusable orders was someone with a good temper, let along Wei Xieyang, would not be able to stand.

Wei Xieyang stood still like a cold, hard, reef. The little happiness that had arisen in him had long been washed away by a cold ocean current, leaving him in the chilling cold. He looked up at the alpha in front of him and realized that he[5] had never understood him.[6]

Wei Xieyang’s heart was frozen, frozen to the point where he had begun to tremble, but he could only straighten his back without revealing a trace of fragility. Du Guzhou had already trampled over his sincerity, but he would not let the same happen to his dignity.

Wei Xieyang: “I’m going to participate in the mecha contest, it’s my business, and you don’t get a say in it.”

Du Guzhou couldn’t understand Wei Xieyang’s thoughts. Why did he insist on doing something so dangerous? Why couldn’t he be like the other omegas and stay at home or shop? Participating in the mecha competition was stepping on his bottom line, he would never permit this, and neither would the royal family.

Du Guzhou: “Talking back to me is useless, I’m your fiance, can you stop being so stubborn!”

For the first time, Wei Xieyang gave a direct answer to this question. His eyes were filled with indifference, like the night sky, dark and cold, “I can’t.”

The hand holding his hat clenched until the veins protruded, and a terrifying aura burst out of Du Guzhou’s body, as if he did not know them. The two omega’s were forced back as their faces turned pale. He was using an alpha’s natural advantage to suppress the omega’s in front of him – the ability to intimidate with pheromones.

Wei Xieyang let out a furious cry, the angry flames in his heart soaring, he could barely contain the beast in his heart. Not to be outdone, he confronted Du Guzhou heads on, slowly overcoming his natural disadvantages of being an omega, and becoming on par with the strength of an alpha.

However, he suddenly felt Yue Chu’s body fall against him. The weak trembling woke him up, and he turned his head over only to see the distressed face of Yue Chu. Those clear eyes were filled with shock and disappointment, the snow white face was covered in sweat, and his lips had been bitten into a blood red, which was particularly eye catching against his paleness.

The fire within Wei Xieyang slowly calmed down, turning into a mass of ashes before evaporating into smoke. All that was left was a rational coldness.

Wei Xieyang closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he was calm again, “Enough, guards, please invite Du Guzhou out.”

Du Guzhou looked at Wei Xieyang in disbelief until he realized that Wei Xieyang was serious. He slowly took a step back, stood up straight, and put on his hat.

He let out a sigh, “Xieyang, neither of us are calm right now. If it continues on like this, we’ll find ourselves in an endless cycle of arguements. I don’t want that to happen. Why don’t we wait for us to calm down before sitting down and having a good talk, okay?”

Wei Xieyang let out a ‘mhm’ and watched Du Guzhou leave with an indifferent expression.

They were like two mismatched puzzle pieces desperately trying their best to fit against each other, not knowing what was wrong.

Wei Xieyang gently let Yue Chu, who was coughing, lean on his shoulder as he[7] handed him[8] a glass of water. Looking at Yue Chu’s helpless and bewildered eyes, Wei Xieyang’s heart couldn’t help trembling, and he gently smoothed the wet hair stuck to his forehead.

Yue Chu slowly recovered and looked up at Wei Xieyang, inexplicably asking, “Why? I thought Du Guzhou liked strong omegas?”

Wei Xieyang mockingly curled the corner of his mouth, “A strong omega?”

He finally understood what kind of an omega Du Guzhou wanted. The so-called ‘strong’ omega was nothing but one that would obediently stay at home, not cause any trouble, and not drag him down, instead of someone that would walk side by side with him.

He felt a pang in his heart, but it was less intense than the pain that he had felt two years ago when he had been stopped by Du Guzhou. And, especially after seeing Yue Chu’s stunned appearance, his grief slowly turned to sympathy.

He had seen how hard Yue Chu tried to get close to Du Guzhou, but when victory had been clearly in front of him,[9] he[10] had found that the person he had been chasing had long since been changed beyond recognition. That sort of despair was true pain.

Wei Xieyang comforted him, “Du Guzhou isn’t that bad, he just can’t understand us.”

Yue Chu: “Why can’t he understand?”

Wei Xieyang pondered for a while, “Because he’s an alpha.”

Yue Chu let out an ‘oh’ and sullenly said, “Then I won’t like alphas anymore.”

He could finally take back the confession, he didn’t want to continue being so infamous.[11]

Wei Xieyang almost laughed, why did he[12] sound like a child throwing a temper tantrum? He[13] quickly pulled back his expression as to not hurt the child’s fragile heart.

Wei Xieyang couldn’t hold himself back and teased Yue Chu, “You really won’t like them anymore?”

Yue Chu looked at Wei Xieyang and seriously said, “Why should I like a someone who can’t understand or support me? I don’t ask for much, I just need to feel secure.”

Wei Xieyang wanted to say that Yue Chu was being too naive, but found that he[14] couldn’t bear to mock him.[15] Yue Chu was right, if two people were in love with each other, they would really be like that. But too many omegas ended up becoming an alpha’s canary under the name of ‘love.’

The translator has something to say:

Changed my update schedule to something more frequent.

However this month is finals month so expect me to be even less frequent than my previous one lol.

Also something funny I noticed in the chinese comment section is that people don’t like the ML being called “big eyed” and “pretty” cuz they think it’s too feminine. That’s the whole point, he’s the “perfect” omega-
