The Legend of Min Hong

Chapter 252: The Fifth Elder 1

"Thus, I wish to continue my stay in the sect like any other outer court disciple…"

"Hmph! you just want to land the rest of the disciples in utter despair, if not why would you still want to hang around them, when you have the cultivation base power of a grand elder?"

The Fifth Grand Elder thought to himself with a displeased but hidden snort before nodding his head in concurrence to Daniels masked demands…

"Done!"

"What!? Jing Wang, what do you think you are doing!?"

"Conceding to a mere outer court disciple just because he has potential… Will you continue to concede to every single talented disciple that crosses your path!?"

The Fourth Elder bellowed angrily when he saw the Fifth Eder accept Daniel's terms without even challenging him one bit, not even to regain the face that the four of them just lost…

"Do you know how shameless it is to actually have four grand elders bully a fourteen year old outer curt disciple?"

"If the news of this spreads, not only will it tarnish the image of the sect as a whole in the face of our citizens, it will also tarnish the image of our empire in the face of outsiders…"

"But not only are you not ashamed, instead, you want me to join in and become the fifth grand elder who bullies a young talent within the span of a single day, how lowly have you fallen, Khan Ji!?"

The fifth elder bellowed indignantly as the remaining three grand elders who had forgotten how they got her wore a stunned expression on their faces…

They found the news strange, but from the conversation the fourth and fifth elder were spewing and the current state of the four of them, they obviously understood the fact that, they couldn't have been throwing themselves in the sand just for fun…

Furthermore, the pain they were feeling and the state of which their armor was at the moment told them that someone had just used them to mop the desert floor…

"Don't tell me-!?"

The Third Grand Elder looked over to the Second Grand Elder who already had a dejected expression plastered on his face whilst, before spotting the First Elder shaking his head in a slumped and humiliated manner, and their expressions gave him more answer to his question than any word they could have uttered…

"It is fine Fifth Grand Elder, if Fourth Grand Elder feels solving the situation amicably and respectfully was wrong, I don't mind having a one on one battle to the death with him, right now…"

Daniel spoke dismissively without even giving as little as a turn of his head to the incensed fourth grand elder whose head almost exploded with sheer rage after he heard such disrespectful statement spill out of Daniel's mouth…

"You-!"

The fourth elder wanted to refute such a humiliating statement, but who was he kidding, Daniel had just dished their asses to them as a golden buffet, and that was even after the four of them cooperated to fight…

If he was to fight him alone, he was not even sure if he would be able to land a single strike on Daniel before losing his life, thus, the rest of his statement got stuck in his throat, never to see the light of day or be heard by any other being…

Though, he might be old, he still wanted to enjoy life as the Grand Elder of one of the top five sects of the entire Dogon Empire…

Seeing that Daniel himself had sorted out the situation in such a silencing manner, the fifth grand elder looked over to him and spoke;

"It is Fei Hong, right!?"

"Unh!? How did you know my name?" Daniel was truly surprised when he heard the Fifth Grand Elder speak his name…

He knew who grand elders were…

They were people who even the strongest inner court disciple couldn't get an audience with, even if they slammed their heads on the ground a billion times or offer to become their slaves, but a whole grand elder actually knew his name!?

"I don't usually concern myself with sect matters, rather I prefer roaming throughout the sect disguised and seeing how the youths of nowadays are causing mischiefs…

"I have known you since the entrance selection exams, and yeah I was there because I took it also and failed miserably…"

The fifth elder nostalgically looked into the distance as he let out a self-ridiculing sigh…

"I used 1/50 of my strength and still couldn't even qualify, I don't know if we are just having a lot of talented batch or I am just getting sloppier and lazier over time…"

"But, it was during the exams that I had spotted you; a thirteen year old boy who had already surpassed the King and Qi Sea stage, with a single Dao…"

"I had known since then that it couldn't be right… Then I saw you spank a girl live, in the presence of an audience, not to mention you flirting with a little girl till she fainted…"

As the Fifth Elder kept reminiscing everything, he was actually gazing at Daniel from the corner of his eyes, looking at his ever disgusting expression on his face as he relished in the fact that, even though Daniel was valiant and mature, he still had a human side to him…

This was because, if Daniel was just someone who cultivates and doesn't feel fear or embarrassment or love or couldn't even smile, though, he would be a perfect addition and valuable investments not only for the Sect, but the entire Empire and even the Royal Clan itself, when it comes to having a fear inspiring expert in their arsenal;

A perfect killer they could send on peculiar occasions to get rid of their problems…

Should such a person feel wronged or hurt, he might end up destroying the entire empire just because he has no emotional attachment to it…

But if he could still feel like a normal human, then their approach of recruiting him might be on an emotional level…

That way, if they could connect to him on a deep emotional level, they would be able to have a guarantee if he ends up feeling betrayed that, he would not rebel against them…

After all, the only job the Royal Clan sent him here to do is to scout for potential legendary figures who are yet to realize who they real are and just how bright their future was guaranteed to be…

Due to some political strife, each of these top ten major sects are powers who would sooner or later rival them in sheer power just because of how many loyal experts they would have groomed and produce over the years…

Though, the Royal Clan would be the first to pick these talented and potential legendary figures when they are about to graduate from these sects, no sect ever releases its strongest and most talented disciple to the Royal Clan, Never!

They will only give the Royal Clan those they determine are the best or at least second fiddle…

For Instance, a sect might have a top five strongest and most talented disciple, but when it is time for a tournament that the Royals are sure to visit, they will all remove their Number 1 disciple and tender the remaining four, before adding any other one from the Top 10 to make them 5.

That way, the Royals would think they had already picked from the true Number 1 but will never know they had only picked the number 2...
