Chapter 63 The Furious Sinthea

“It’s Alexander Pierce.”

“Pierce, are you aware that just today our last base in the country was destroyed?! You better tell me the truth, are you the one who did this?”

“Leader Sinthea, please calm down. I’m not the one who did this! Besides, you forgot to mention the secret code between us.”

“S*it! Screw your secret code! I toiled for decades to rebuild the entire H.Y.D.R.A. and half of it vanished just like this. And you’re telling me to calm down? How should I calm down?! Tell me the truth, are you the one who leaked out the locations?”

“Leader, I’ve explained numerous times to you that everything was done by Nick Fury. I don’t know how he managed to get the bases’ location and caused all of this. You need to calm down first. The entire H.Y.D.R.A. bases within the country are destroyed, so where are you…”

Before he could finish his sentence, he realized what kind of question he was asking. However, it was due to his concern that he asked about it.

As expected, Sinthea was fuming at the other end of the call.

“Pierce! You want to know my location so you can send people to capture me, right?! Besides Dr. Zola and me, you’re the only one who knows the entire location of our bases. Dr. Zola was even unaware of some of them, only you knew because I’m the one who told you. I trusted you so much and is this how you repay me?! Great! Excellent! You’re brave enough now that you’ve become the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. so you wanted to backstab us and redeem yourself?! Let me tell you, once you’re a H.Y.D.R.A., you’re always H.Y.D.R.A.”

“Leader, I’m not such a person. I will never forget the teaching of H.Y.D.R.A. and will never betray it.”

Pierce took a deep breath to control himself and added, “Leader, you’ve lost your rationality. With S.H.I.E.L.D. in my hand, it’s equivalent to another H.Y.D.R.A. There won’t be any more mistakes. You should take refuge in another country and calm yourself down. Please trust me, I’ll manage the H.Y.D.R.A. properly in your stead. Please wait for my good news.”

“What’s the meaning of this? Are you breaking off with me?!”

“There isn’t any meaning, leader. I’m tired so that’s all, I’ll hang up first.” Pierce disregarded Sinthea’s yelling and hung up the call straight away.

After some while, he let out a helpless sigh and sat back on his chair. Pierce felt awfully bitter! He had no answers to Sinthea’s questions as he even suspected it was Sinthea herself the one that did it!

Pierce furrowed his brows as he chewed over at how Nick Fury received the information.

Thus, Nick Fury must be removed from S.H.I.E.L.D. and he must think of a reason to kick him out. Although such an abrupt action would cause Fury’s suspicion, Pierce could not be bothered much.

With this thought in his mind, Pierce grabbed the phone and dialed someone. Soon the call connected, “Agent Fury, it’s Pierce. Come to my office.”

In an uninhabited mountain range within America, there was a cave that was dug out recently. 

This place was a temporarily hidden stronghold that was set up by Sinthea and the company after some of the bases within the country were beginning to be exposed.

Besides Sinthea and Dr. Zola, there were around a total of hundred soldiers and researchers taking refuge in this place.

Sinthea was clenching a satellite phone while acting like a hysterical monkey. Dr. Zola silently approached her after Sinthea simmered down a bit.

“Miss Sinthea, you’re becoming too raging recently. I suggest you should take it easy. Now H.Y.D.R.A. was almost crippled, it needs your wise leadership.”

“Easy my a*s! No one was able to quench my thirst for almost half a year, how should I take it easy?! Half a year and no one had found any traces of the Winter Soldier!”

“Miss Sinthea, I’ve warned you that joy is not your power source. It’s a side effect of your ability and it can be conquered and cast off. Once you succeed, you’ll turn over a new leaf.”

However, Sinthea turned a deaf ear to Dr. Zola’s reminder as if annoyed by it. Dr. Zola powerlessly added, “About the Winter Soldier and Leo… It will be laborious to search for them if they conceal well. America is huge, they can just hole up in a random spot and we won’t receive any news even if they caused some ruckus. Besides, now we don’t have the time to track them down. We were wrecked apart by the U.S. Military in just three months, there’s no one left to do it. So, stop demanding for the Winter Soldier!”

Sinthea tensed up her fist and asked, “It’s almost half a year, have you found anything from Katr’s remains?”

“If it’s Howard’s recreated version of Super Soldier Serum, I can still try it. But with the remains of a failure, it’s difficult for me to find anything concrete.”

Sinthea was unable to relieve her lust in a short while thus blaming everything on Leo.

It was Leo who abducted Bucky! It was Leo who murdered Katr! It was after Leo’s betrayal, that everything spiraled out of control!

“Dr. Zola, is there any possibility of Leo disclosing all the information?”

“How’s that possible? I never told him anything regarding this matter. Perhaps you told him?”

“No, I didn’t.”

“Unless he can read minds, there’s no way for him to grasp the information.”

“If it’s not Leo or Pierce, then who could it be?!” She had no reliable guesses no matter how she contemplated. All she felt was distraught all over her.

She steeled her up before finally suppressing the anxiety within her heart. She spoke to Dr. Zola, “Now with all the bases in America gone and Pierce rebelled against me, it doesn’t matter whether H.Y.D.R.A. has me or not.”

“What are you trying to do?!”

“I’m leaving alone to taste an unbounded and free life.” Sinthea added while smirking, “I’m going to find the Winter Soldier! I’m going to find a man as unbending as the Winter Soldier!”

Hence, an odd urban legend began spreading in America.

It was said that a gorgeous lady will appear in places like nightclubs or by the street… and crazily “supplement” herself.
