Chapter 4 I don’t have money

The little girl shook her head, “I have no parents, only my master, but my master is dead ……”

Her little head drooped with a hint of loss, and the hand holding the ferret tightened for a moment, but she hurriedly adjusted the force for fear of hurting the sleeping ferret.

Bu Chengsu’s heart clenched, and there was a moment of silence as he took out a milk candy from his pocket.

The scent of milk wafted into Nian Nian’s nose and she looked up.

“Eat it.”

She wanted to, it looked so delicious, but she still shook her head anyway.

“I don’t have money.” But as she spoke, her clear eyes kept staring at the milk candy.

Looking at her eyes, Bu Chengsu couldn’t help but peel the candy paper away and stuff the milk candy into Nian Nian’s mouth.

Slightly stunned, Nian Nian raised her eyes to look at Bu Chengsu, her pink little lips slightly open and a sliver of milk candy could still be seen inside.

“Just owe me for now.”

Bu Chengsu told her.

He had understood this little girl’s principle.

The taste of milk filled her mouth and her taste buds so satisfied that she even wanted to eat more. When saliva was about to run out, Nian Nian subconsciously closed her mouth tightly, leaving all the taste of milk in her mouth.

“Thank you, little brother.”

After eating the milk candy, Nian Nian walked towards Bu Chenxi’s side, the two were so close that when they spoke, Bu Chenxi could even smell the residual sweet and creamy milk fragrance.

“Hey! You two go over there, if you don’t get the money tonight, don’t even think about eating!” Zheng Heizi came over, let out harsh words in front of the two of them and then quickly left.

Bu Chengsu didn’t reply as he led the little girl to the entrance of the mall, where there were more people coming and going.

Fifteen minutes later, the little girl looked at the various foods in front of her and was a little puzzled.

“Little brother.” She tugged at Bu Chengsu’s sleeve.

Bu Chengsu glanced at the small hand, “He has gone far away and won’t see you. Eat, aren’t you hungry?”

“Little brother eat too.”

Her little fat hand opened a bag of bread and broke half of it and fed it into Bu Chengsu’s mouth. Her face was pink from the sun and her bangs were wet with sweat, she looked a bit wretched but it poked Bu Chengsu’s heart.

“Tsk, such a small child out begging, how pitiful, here, take it.” A man suddenly dropped a few hundred yuan bills in the broken jar in front of Bu Chengsu then left hurriedly.

When Nian Nian looked over, the man’s figure had already disappeared into the crowd of people coming and going.

“This uncle is so strange.”

Bu Chengsu however, wasn’t surprised at all and calmly collected the hundred yuan bills before pulling the little girl to himself.

“Let’s go, let’s go back.”

“Oh.”

Nian Nian had just taken two steps with the leftover bread when she saw another boy kneeling there, looking at the bread in her hand and gulping.

“Brother, here, you eat.”

Nian Nian walked over and stuffed the bread into the boy’s hand, smiling with arched eyebrows. The boy was a little dazed and when he looked back up again, Nian Nian had already been taken away by Bu Chengsu.

After returning, Bu Chengsu gave the hundreds yuan to Zheng Heizi and on this rare occasion didn’t get scolded.

At night, in the damp room, a dozen children lay side by side on the floor, sleeping soundly.

Bu Chengsu looked at the little girl sitting cross-legged next to him: “In a while, sleep next to me. Don’t get up no matter you hear and don’t go out.”

“Why?” The little girl opened her eyes and looked over.

In the dimly lit room, her eyes looked especially bright and divine.

Bu Chengsu’s voice softened a little: “Be good.”

“Oh.”

The little girl first put the ferret that had been sleeping away carefully before lying down next to Bu Chengsu.
